  1. Hello to all on this great forum. My name is Michael. New to this forum of course but not to Lego. Born and grew up in the colonies of Africa but now settled with my family in the UK. My Grandparents sent me Lego every Christmas from Germany and have been hooked ever since. (any of you chaps remember the old space range)Naturally fully corrupted my two girls into Lego and the wife is a big fan, which is always a bonus. Sadly all this "life" business got in the way of my Lego building and collecting, however that is now being rectified. My wife and I are expecting a son in February. The wife has already acknowledged we are now in big trouble where Lego is concerned and toodamn right!!! I always wanted a train set growing up and tried to get into N Gauge however time and space always preventred this getting off the ground and then I came across the amazing Maersk Train in the Lego shop last year. Well what can be better than a train set that you can build and despite yes Lego is no cheap hobby...its a damn site cheaper than "Real" model trains. Saying that looking at what some fine chaps can do in Lego...looks pretty real to me and would put some Model Railroaders to shame I wager. Anyway look forward to meet many of you on the forum and I stand by my motto "you are never too old for Lego!" Michael
  2. As much as I would like to see Lego Military I can fully understand and support their decision not to go down this route. Lego does quite fine I'm sure without going down this theme route.
  3. This was an awesome programe I must say. In the UK it came under the Megafactories title and coincidentlay came out just at the time that we bought the new Police station set. Great to see what went into designing and manufacture of that set.
  4. Not enough!! My two girls love the new Police staion and all the new kits that go with it but now having seen the new friends range....Oh dear far too much Pink for my liking. However, Wife and I are expecting a son in February though so that is changing big time. Always wanted a train set so there is some serious spending happening at the Lego shop very soon.
  5. Still available at local toy store so got to go grab this kit NOW!! Always at the most inconvenint time do these great sets get discontinued.
  6. When I saw this kit the first time I was blown away, even more so now. Got to get this one sooner rather than later.
  7. Sad to have missed this one, but hopefully Lego shop still has one on the shelf this weekend.
  8. In the Uk this set appears to be the cheapest starter and no bad for what you get. I picked up a comment on the Flexi track. Being very new to the forum and completely new to Lego trains, Apologies if I have not have posted this in the right section, as it appears that the set 7894 straight and curved additional track sections has been discontinued what is your experience with this flexi track?
  9. Great review and great insight into these magic sets from Lego. Here in the UK this set is abit more expensive than 7939 and for me 7939 is the better one to go for. Maybe get both would sort that out!
  10. Excellent review and this is definitely the set I would like to start my venture into Lego Trains with.
