  1. Oh I know BrickLink, but in the matter of prices it didn't meet my expectations. Yeah, the US shops are quite cheap, but I live in Hungary so shipping is expensive. The European shops are a little expensive. For example take a look at this: MMV cost 99.99$ and has 1602 pieces. That is ~0.06$/pc. Buying a 2x2 Black Slope on BrickLink is approx the same price, but a 1x4 dark brown plate is around 0.12$. That is twice the price. Not to speak of parts like the minifigs or the stair. Also I didn't calculate that you get VIP points when buying sets. From this it appears to me that sometimes sets can be cheaper than BrickLink, especially if you are pretty new to Lego and need many different parts. But thank you anyway for the comment!
  2. Hi! The topic name says it all. Are there any sets which are worth buying multiple pieces of for landscaping work? I especially mean a lot of green work, but some blue for water and brown for dirt roads are also welcome. Cheers!
  3. Guys! shop.lego.com has just announced double VIP points for all LEGO sets purchased in March. I just grabbed an MMV worth 193 VIP points. You might want to pick your own MMV-s before they run out of it :)
  4. This idea with the mill is just superb. This is definitely one of my favorite MOC's. If you would NXTfy it that would be even more awesome!
  5. What I love most about this nice MOC is that lamp above the door! Nice build!
  6. This is an amazing build! I love modular buildings with interiors. This is a real inspiration for my MOC! btw: your English is perfectly fine!
  7. There is not a single detail in this build I don't love!
  8. I love the roofing you did there! The entire scene has really a great atmosphere. I instantly remembered a part of a story I read. Nice work!
  9. Thanks! Of course you can. Have fun with it!
  10. Hi! I took my spare reddish-brown bricks to build these pieces. I am pretty happy with the result.
  11. A wonderful build! GZ!
  12. My last update for a while since I totally ran out of bricks. The workers have done a good job and are now resting. Meanwhile Le Wild Mead Supply arrived so that the workers will wake up to a pleasant surprise. After all this sawing, hammering, etc. a little chill-out drink session should restore their strength and moral to continue building when new materials arrive.
  13. Wow! Very nice build. Beautiful color scheme, and I love the windows!
  14. Wow! What an awesome story! You amazed me with the building already when I saw it on MOC pages, but now you come up with such a cool story! Thanks for cheering up my day again!
  15. I was looking at my [WIP] Medieval House when suddenly Le Wild Idea appeared. I remembered purpleparadox posted a horse with cart earlier here so I felt inspired to build my own one. I am pretty sure that my first Medieval House will end up becoming a tavern or inn so it will need a constant beer supply. Since beer is every ones desire it needs to be guarded properly.
  16. Thanks! A single F5 solved the problem I feel retarded that I didn't think of this myself
  17. If you just want to resize open the picture in Paint and click resize. You don't need picasa or so.
  18. Hi! I tried to change my avatar picture. I deleted/removed the old one and uploaded a new one. The new avatars size in pixels and kb are both ok. I double checked that. Still when I save changes the old avatr appears re-sized! No matter what I try the new avatar won't show. Please help!
  19. It's nice, but there is one thing that disturbs me: the wheels. I think wooden wheels would have been a better choice. This way it just feels anachronistic. Besides that I like it. Keep building!
  20. Thank you all for your comments! Regarding the other houses: Greyjoy can be done by just using Vikings. It's clearly stated that the Greyjoys have long boats and from how they are depicted (like Victarion Greyjoy) I can clearly imagine him/them as sort of Vikings. Going through the minifig shields over at brickling I've seen a shield with Flames that would be a good compromise for Melisandre and Stannis later on. Also there is a bull for house Hightower if I remember this right. The Arryns won't leave their valley anyway :) Regarding the green 1x1 round plates: I used them to create some kind of moss effect. When I ordered them I thought they would be a little darker. I am not entirely happy with them either and think of changing them once I have more plants and more 1x1 with modified with stud + 1x2 plates. Overall I want to add more detail, but currently I lack the bricks to do so.
  21. Amazing job on this windmill! Can't wait to see it in its place!
  22. Wow! You've got attitude man, 20 pc 48x48? Awesome! And yeah, that portcullis is epic! I also like the alteration of 1x1 rounds and flat tiles to build a road. That's really nice.
  23. Hi all! So I've seen that posts following the progression of a MOC aren't uncommon. Since I have limited money to spend on LEGO I just can not buy all the stuff I need to finish a MOC right away. Therefore I thought I make such a topic and post whenever I could get new bricks and build a new part of the house. I have not yet decided what it actually will be. I was thinking of either building a smithy or tavern. I think I will figure this out later. What I know I want to do is building a detailed interior. Enough talking now, it's time for some pics! I started by building only the basic walls that will determine the shape of the house and adding just 1 front to it: I realized that I made a mistake with the front section. Since the side walls will get their 1x1 round plates as well the front needs to be wider. Also meanwhile my bricklink order arrived with the windows so I inserted them: Next I inserted a door. I love black/green color scheme. Also I started to make a wooden floor. You might notice that some of the bricks are very dirty. I tried to wash them, but it didn't help. I had to use them though since I couldn't order any more bricks currently. (These are my 15+ year old LEGO bricks I found again) On further plans: I am a big Game of Thrones fan and I don't know if anybody noticed yet, but the non-licensed castle themes have: 1. Lions for Lannister 2. Dragons for Targaryens 3. Wolf for Stark 4. Stag/Deer for Baratheon This MOC will be part of village near Storm's End and therefore belong to Stannis Baratheon. Later on I want do do many Game of Thrones scenes! Thank you for your time!
  24. I love how much life is going on in such a small city. I really enjoyed the scenes.
  25. Really cool scene! I especially love the way you built a curved base plate for this.
