  1. Results of Round 1 of Final Battle En Sabah Nur vs. Phoenix Reborn - Blind Namyrra Uq - Consume Nostrum Alf Gregory vs. Atticus Ziegfried - Miss Atramor Gibbin vs. Atticus Ziegfried - Damage Alexis Fenral - Consume Mead Alexis Fenral vs. Atticus Ziegfried - Aim Ellaria Arbour - Consume Nostrum The epic battle begins. The infuriated wizard takes his stance, the mystical phoenix behind him. Nur begins by blinding the bird for the next three turns. Both Namyrra and Ellaria drink their nostrums, instilling a lucky-effect. Alf swings at Atticus, but the old wizard is more agile than he appears and evades it. Atramor tries the same, but tastes the cold steel of the evil blade as it slices across his face and upper torso. Alexis downs a bottle of mead before taking aim at Atticus (10x2=20). The battle rages on. Enemies: Atticus Ziegfried Type: Humanoid Level: 10 Health: 380/400 Special 1: Hex (brainwashes attacker, causing the target to attack a random ally instead.) 2. Did I do something wrong that no one wants to post in my quest anymore?
  3. Ah, I remember listening to this album when it was first released. Good, uplifting music. Listening to this new song by Korn. Surprisingly it's not bad. I never really liked dubstep but this has a more nu-metal vibe.
  4. I like the name change. It'll take some getting used to, but if you don't mind me saying cralegoboy gave the impression, of well... a little boy playing with his Lego. :P

  5. Realizing a better option, Hybros changes his mind and attacks Gamma from the back row with the Shuriken of Mercutio. "No use risking getting knocked out when I can survive a hit from the back row..." he thought to himself.
  6. QM Note: Uh what. The party declines the wizard's offer and prepares to fight. Before they can attack, however, a familiar song plays and the air grows hotter. The phoenix the party encountered earlier swoops in, reborn from the ashes and stronger than ever. The party members brace themselves and Whales and Thimlin take cover. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Atticus Ziegfried Type: Humanoid Level: 10 Health: 400/400 Special 1: Hex (brainwashes attacker, causing the target to attack a random ally instead.) QM Note: I do intend on actually taking the back row (Phoenix) into account this time.
  7. Happy Birthday KimT!
  8. Love the jester one!
  9. "You heroes are quite greedy given your profession. I promised you a reward once we got off of this island, and I intend to keep that promise. I'm afraid these gems are not part of the deal, I need them to direct my power until I am fully recovered. After that I will wrap up some internal family matters. No, I am not going try to defeat them. Do you really think someone even as powerful as I could take on the entire Ziegfried family? After that I will sail far away, and you shall never hear from me again. Do I really seem that evil to you that you must 'heroically' kill me? What you're about to attempt is murder, and I will have no choice but to defend myself."
  10. Frustrated, Hybros charges at Automaton Gamma from the front row.
  11. Atramor checks the wizard's stats with his Cloak of the Elven Spy: Atticus Ziegfried Type: Humanoid Level: 10 Health: 400/400 Special 1: Hex (brainwashes attacker, causing the target to attack a random ally instead.) Special 2: Lesser Seal (performs curse on attacker, causing Sealed effect for the next turn or until remedied.) Special 3: Lesser Blind (uses magic to blind the attacker, causing Blinded effect for the next turn or until remedied.) Drops: Sword of Decay (WP: 5, once the target is inflicted with damage, they lose a quarter of the power of the strike each following turn for three turns. the effect cannot be compounded with more strikes. Suitable to Mages, Knights, and Barbarians) Note: Atticus is immune to all negative effects (besides KO). The special used is determined by die roll (50% for each). QM Note: An example for the Sword of Decay: The strike has a power of 16, so for the next three rounds the inflicted target will suffer 4 damage. Always rounded down.
  12. "Unfortunately I still need these gems to direct my power in my weakened state. Besides, I wouldn't call you a moral person, Rogue, especially when it comes to respecting your elders. Ones who could really teach you a lesson, at that."
  13. "I have some gold hidden away back in Eubric, and I can get more. Let's say... 600 gold, shall we?"
  14. Thanks! Yes, I believe someone yesterday said that QMs should use others' NPCs more often. And I do realize the similarities between Atticus and Haroka. Both locked away in a deep slumber for a long time, but they're both very powerful. And they both had gem puzzle doors.
  15. Hybros retreats to the back row, drawing his throwing knife and throwing it at Automaton Gamma.
  16. "Dmitri? I suppose that is one of your adversaries that you've been fighting? I have no idea who or where he is. He must either be wandering in jungle or already dead by now." "As for my intentions when I return, there are some internal family matters that must be taken care of before I depart Eurbric for good. I believe I've learned my lesson. This many years on an island... don't you think that's punishment enough? And as I said, the rewards will be great if you choose to do so."
  17. I'm in for sure this time. Will probably be doing one or more Battle of Theed creations. The promotional poster is awesome, by the way.
  18. That wyvern is awesome! Nicely done, TazManiac. I really like the use of the Minotaur horns for claws. he figure is also pretty neat, will have to get my hands on some of those black plumes.
  19. Yeah, that was cool. It's interesting to see characters choose a certain class. I'm really looking forward to Tomas advancing to Sage (my favorite advanced class).
  20. The party walks a while before they come to a final clearing. In it, a great old man stands, ready to greet them. He holds an ornate saber, decorated with the gems from the stone wall. "Ah, welcome heroes. I am Atticus Ziegfried. I suppose you have many questions, so allow me explain. Many years ago, I was sealed on this island by my family, whom I am sure you are aware of. I was exploring evil and dark magics, magic that should never be wielded by any mortal soul. By I could not help myself, and soon the magic itself consumed me despite the warnings of my family. Soon they became very concerned, and quickly realized that I would become too powerful if I continued to study this magic. They could not kill me, no, I was far too powerful, but they did manage to seal and bind me to this island. For many years I was trapped in a frozen magical state, unable to move or use magic. Until recently, for a reason unknown to me, the spell suddenly broke. I wonder... hmm..." "Anyways, I finally awoke from my slumber, finding myself much older than I remembered. I quickly tried everything to get off this island, but after all that time my powers had grown weak, even the little dark magic I had once learned abandoned me. I could not simply fly or swim back home, so I had to make do with the little energy I had. I created the storm that 'sunk' your ships when two fine craft happened to sail near this island. But in reality, the ships are perfectly fine, docked just on the other side of this island, their crews asleep and prepared to obey my command." "But of course, I could not just strand you here and flee. I was still very weak, and I needed time to recover. In the meantime I watched you fight the various inhabitants of this island, old and new. Fortunately, my persuasion has allowed me to communicate with the various creatures here, and they held you off, weakening you while I grew stronger by the minute. And your enemies, I didn't even need to persuade them. I simply rested here behind the magical door I had created." "That door was a test. Only those who could solve the puzzle are worthy enough for my audience. And now I offer you choice, heroes. You may try to defeat me, but I warn you that I am more powerful than you can imagine, even in my weakened state. Or you may simply allow me to return to Eubric, unharmed. In return, I shall reward you handsomely. A wizard of my caliber would be able to grant such an offer, no? But if you choose to fight, you will face my wrath." "I leave the choice to ye, heroes. But if we're stranded on this god-forsaken island... I will not be a happy sailor!" Thimlin nods in agreement.
  21. Yes, that was a realization but I'm glad it took long enough for everyone to participate. Right. I had expected you guys and gals to use the compass more often, in which case you would've missed most of the item pick ups. But more on that after! The quest is almost complete.
  22. With Christopher's shield and Maurice's miracle, combined with Hybros' good luck, the imp saw the chance to deal serious damage to the strange creatures. "I'll attack the Tritech Automaton Gamma from the front row!"
  23. Love all of the new figs! Well, except maybe Gollum. He just looks too specialized/<insert that tiresome argument> for me, although that seems to have become the norm over the past few years, especially with SW.
  24. Atramor digs in the rubble, but there is no trace of the gems.
  25. Well done, all of you! I know this wasn't an easy puzzle to solve, especially when you're trying to visualize this. And thanks to all the non-questers that followed along. There were two conditions that had to be met for the puzzle to work. One was that a gem couldn't move if it's weaker element was on top of it (for example the aquamarine couldn't move with the ruby on top). The element match ups were a hint to this: Sapphire (Wind) beats Emerald (Vermin) Emerald (Wood) beats Aquamarine (Water) Aquamarine (Water) beats Ruby (Fire) The ruby could move anywhere no matter what. The other condition is that an element could not "slide under" an element. For example the emerald could not move to column 2 if the ruby was in A2, so it would skip to C3. Or if the ruby was in A2 and the aquamarine was in B3, the emerald would not move at all. I got the puzzle idea from the game Mass Effect, but from what I hear it's been seen elsewhere too. In Mass Effect different block sizes were used instead of elements. It just took some simple logic, and a lot of experimentation. The puzzle can be solved in as few as 14 moves. EDIT: Thanks to Flipz (who also solved it) for finding this link: Tower of Hanoi. The elemental door was a slightly varied version of this, and simplified so that the gems could not move in more than one row (or else the quest would never end )
