  1. Simply beautiful! The custom sails really make her stand out! Sorry if I missed it, but what did you make the sails from? Is it plain paper or the printable fabric sheets?
  2. Just a small update to show progress... After several bricklink orders arriving I started the lower deck and hull... More to come of coarse...
  3. I will have some pics of mine in real brick up by this weekend... So you can use it for comparison if you'd like... I am quite pleased with the dark tan. The only dark tan I couldn't get that I used was the 1x1 tiles...
  4. I know exactly what you mean! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! After all your help with my build, I would be happy to assist you in any way I can. Sometimes you can spend alot of time on something and you can just use another set of eyes to point out what you would easily overlook. More pics are a must! Edit: I think I found your brickshelf gallery... My only suggestion would be to go with the dark tan plates instead of reddish brown for the deck. Little more money, but they look a little more like a natural wood color...
  5. Very impressive! The really like the details of the bow and stern. Really like the checkerboard design. I didn't know they made a door insert for the arc window like that...
  6. Bellissimo!
  7. Ok now that Brickshelf is back up (and appears to be stable) here is an update... Made lots of progress and think this is 99% final. Will more than likely make subtle alterations as the build progresses... Got my first got a few more bricklink orders and should have enough to start the lower deck... Took out any "non existent" parts, hence the color changes... edit: yes, i know there would not have been beds... but I didn't want to mess with hammocks... edit2: added brick built flags... by the time I add the parts that I can't in LDD, I will be over 5000 parts!
  8. I would be interested in your Imperial Flagship, if Yawgmoth doesn't buy it...
  9. Well done! I love the use of the arches on the forecastle...
  10. There is a batch edit process, but I couldn't figure it out... For the parts that I couldn't get in a particular color, I ended up using LDD's select color & shape tool... And one part type at a time I replaced what couldn't be purchased on bricklink...
  11. Do you know what would cause an "Error: 5 - Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy server" error when clicking the step 1 upload to bricklink? Edit: nevermind... It was my computer... I am getting an error though still when trying to export to an xls file... Error: 429 Active X can't component can't create object... if I click ok, I get another error, error 91 object variable or with block variable not set... Any ideas what these are caused by?
  12. That's what I am afraid of... So I think I am about ready to "stick a fork in it" and start generating the parts list and get some of these parts orders in prep of the physical build... Will post some pics once the bricklink is back up... Edit: Looks like the dark red, might be out... Not having much luck finding the parts on bricklink...
  13. Mine wasn't converting into MLCAD format very well either... Too many missing parts, so I can't use LPUB... But I did come across this, thought I would share... http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41993
  14. Figured as much... Made (what I think) is some pretty good progress on the bow... I think the 5th time is the charm!
  15. If you look at the unicorn it is at a steeper angle than some of the other ships. It is the only way to get the figurehead up higher... I may be able to bring the angle down a little more. I am using one of older technic 2 piece joints to set the custom angle... Reworked the lanterns... Still working on the bow... I wasn't 100% sold on it. It has been the part of the ship I have reworked more than anything else... Is it just me or is the brickshelf not loading for anyone else?
  16. small update... I increased the angle of the spirtbow mast, which allowed me to raise the figure... tweaked with the bow... Think I am going to have to play with the headrails in real brick. Most of the tubing is not flexible in LDD. Think I am going to finish the interior details and and masts, then generate a parts list and start the build...
  17. Well I finished the stern and main deck and need to go back and refocus on the bow, so I might think about that. Given the way I laid the gun deck, it would be quite a challenge, but last update for the night so I will sleep on it.
  18. one better... Still need to come up with a decoration above... And got my lanterns done...
  19. Thanks! This will definitely be built... Just using LDD to do the design work. Will generate part/instructions once done. I lost my dedicated Lego workspace last year, so the hope here is the grunt work done in software, then the actual build will be smoother... I actually had a curve to it, but took it out to simplify the construction... I may re-invesitagte it once everything else is done... Yeah, I'm letting that part simmer a bit... Though about using some flex tubing, which is a pain to do in LDD...
  20. Thanks for the info... I am using that as a very loose reference. I opted for the single level top deck for simplicity, but I am trying to capture the overall look of it (or a ship of that era). Here are some more updates... More details to come. The lanterns are preliminary and I am still trying to come up with some ornate decoration for above the bay windows...
  21. Very ruff design... I think it is too tall... Maybe I will angle those side walls inward... I think the wheel and the stair case need to be reversed as well... Quick edit: Angled the other side... Gold parts are available on the BrickLink, but I still need to work on the center design...
  22. Yeah, I know... I got bored with the bow from focusing on it for so long, decided to get the rest of the main structure done and then I will double back and finish it up. Also was having trouble getting the flex tool to put in place for the head rails. The reference shots I was using, also show that. I defiantly needs some more work. I am having trouble finding reference shots for how the ships wheel would have been situated on a frigate from the late 17th century era... Looking at the images here, I can't spot it... http://www.modelships.de/Unicorn_II/Photos-Frigate-Unicorn_II_details.htm
  23. Well done indeed!
  24. Ohh good! I will have to search for it. Yeah, that was my intention... Got the stern roughed out... more to come...
  25. Well I went straight to modifying the design this morning.. Didn't check here, so I have already lowered the deck... Not to bad though, I like the look better... What do you guys think?
