  1. If I wrote a sequel to the LEGO Pirates official canon, and illustrated it with MOCs, could I post it here? And, if so, would I post it in the regular forum or MOC subforum? I have lots of pirates stuff and a couple large ships, and am ordering a second QAR soon, and I've been writing for about a decade now. I could make it decent; anyone interested?
  2. Don't count on it, m'lord. I wish they would do the small ships from the "Hoist the Colours" scene.
  3. Woooowwww, that is one of the niftiest cabins I've seen. @Blackbeard: No, the downside is that it will cost hundreds of dollars.
  4. As the late Harry Caray would say: Holy Cow! Seriously, this is amazing. Keep up the excellent work.
  5. I hope he makes a spritsail topmast, the small sail at the tip of the bowsprit. Those almost never made for some reason.
  6. Yep, from a book, all strictly based on the actual ship, and it has every detail, even down to how the figurehead had fallen off by the time Blackbeard owned it, when it was French and named the Concorde. I think if I scanned them it'd be a violation of copyrights by the publisher of the book, but I'll take a picture tomorrow with other stuff in the photo. I'm sneaky. Full color, too. I wish I had collected the old sets. I didn't discover how great LEGO was until my childhood was almost over...
  7. Ah, danke! I totally forgot about that set. I'd seen that plate in one or two other MOCs and was very curious. Aye, definitely more useful for pirates. I might have to bricklink it.
  8. The Pearl would be slaughtered with many slaughters, IMO. Ships I think would be unfairly disadvantaged against the Flagship would be the Pearl, the Bounty, and the Runner. I have to go with Skull's Eye Schooner. Still, if a tricky buccaneer managed to "privateer" another Flagship... Now, that would be interesting... Magic doesn't count in this hypothetical bout, or, at least, I think that's what they said earlier. I still think the flamethrower should be counted, though. That could flambe the Flagship from any angle as long as the Anne is facing it. Of course, that would mean the Flagship is close enough, since the flamethrower is short range. Blackbeard and his freebooters could pretend to surrender to bring the suckered Redcoats closer...
  9. I be with Big Cam. If the LEGO store folks say it, I believe it. Lego might just start giving more choices in themes. They never said there could only be so many themes, licensed or otherwise. Mo' sets = mo' money. And more from my wallet.
  10. Oh my gosh. That is a lot of Bluecoat. L'Empereur approves. The Fort is a little blocky, but the Port is very pretty. Has that colorful feel that makes me like the old pirates. What set did that raised beach baseplate come in?
  11. Just use your imagination that there are more cannons. It looks like a lot of people will be having QAR projects, since I plan on making mine like the historical QAR, which I have the blueprints for. That last one is with the Redbeard Runner, correct? Wow, really shows how mighty the QAR is.
  12. I know the feeling. That's the only thing I can say.
  13. Are you going to build this in real life, too? It'd be amazing...
  14. Please post more! This is extremely nice. I'm really loving that Captain's Cabin. Well done, mate.
  15. The Queen Anne's Revenge for $99! Twice as big as the Bounty and double the piece count. Very nifty bargain.
  16. As would I. I have a feeling we'll also see a dock set featuring the famous first scene where Jack steps onto the dock from the mast of his ship. Probably have some quirky function allowing you to push the boat forward and pop it apart thanks to a mechanism, or a lame-o mast catapult to "launch" Sparrow onto the dock. Maybe some flick-fire missiles, too. I think PotC will either continue for 2012, but not until summer, or switch to regular pirates until the next movie, which, BTW, I heard is coming. They've already told the actors to make sure they have time for PotC 5 and 6. If they switch to normal pirates until PotC is the "It Toy," I predict we'll see the return of Ironhook (or a look-a-like) and Bluecoats. It probably won't be much different than the '09 theme, probably even with bluecoats with a reversed redcoat color scheme, like in the LEGO Battles game. They'll probably be more American-style than French-style, regrettably, because kids nowadays probably only think of British and American navies of that era. My two cents and first post! EDIT: Ooh, it'd also be sweet to see some PotC Blackcloaks, likely in a "Singapore Sling" set.
