Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Storel replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hey Angeli, (woulda sent this by PM but it wouldn't do it) Just wanted to check a few things before I make any new posts/threads. Basically, my Wanderer has amnesia, which lasts mostly until I work out which guild I want to be in? Whilst I can't enter events like the embassy build, things like the Gladiator games are okay? Umm, anything else? Also, I made an avatar and a small story scene, although I might have to retake the photos at some point. The Wanderer Cheers for the fun idea, Storel -

I like that idea very much Angeli I might tweak the story a little bit and see about putting together an avatar (possibly even a mini viginette too). Definitely sounds like a fun concept. I feel somewhat excited now -

I guess... But I realised that I had a complete mind blank when typing that previous post as I forgot the whole "like the setting and background" bit I took a wander through the threads for the other guilds, but none of them appeal as much as Avalonia does Ho hum... I shall ponder it some more... -

Is Avalonia still closed for sign-ups at the moment? I'd like to join and I like their architecture style, but couldn't find anything definitive about whether they were or not. -
I know. Put it down to lazyness while eating dinner. *goes to rotate images* Edit: And there we go

I built this a while back but only just got around to taking photos. Figured I'd post em up whilst my ship building over in 'Pirates' has stalled. It started off as the tavern from MMV, but I decided I wanted a bigger building, so I built another one but removed the staircase and put in a window. Then I built a centre section. (Yes, I have very many sets of MMV. It's one of the few sets that I actually thought was worth buying 3 or 4 of ) The Crown Inn by Storel the Wanderer, on Flickr Under the stairs. by Storel the Wanderer, on Flickr A drunk villager seeking solace under the stairs. Drunk villager indeed! by Storel the Wanderer, on Flickr Each section was built so that it would all fit together but still be easy to seperate for access inside. It's modular don'tcha know by Storel the Wanderer, on Flickr Centre section by Storel the Wanderer, on Flickr I had a few issues with the roof of the middle section due to not having the right parts at the time so unfortunately it isn't currently removable to see inside. There are a few more pics on my Flickr C&C welcome

I know it shouldn't be taken as gospel, but on Brickipedia it says that PotC line is going to be paused this year, then picked up again when the 5th film comes out. -
Look what I just got - Report your latest Pirate LEGO acquisitions

Just ordered QAR for £66 Should hopefully have it by Thursday/Friday :-D -
I *think* this is the place for it, On Tesco Direct they have 25% off PotC Queen Anne's Revenge making it £76. Linky Also, they currently have an eCoupon offer on, providing £10 off any orders £75+, which makes the QAR £66 in total.

Ohhhh.... right. Thanks Completely didn't think about that set! (Woo! 10th post)

I just meant 'Port Royal' as the location for Jack's trial Mmm... Dunno whether they'd go for an executioner or not... -

D'you mean Port Royal? For Tortuga I could see a tavern (I know they've done one already, but pirates frequent a lot of taverns!) and small dock. (Maybe a pig-sty as well) With: Scarlett, Giselle, Mr Gibbs (and pigs?) a few random pirates. Murtogg and Mullroy Would love some minifigs of them! -
What set is this guy actually from? I really like the torso, but can't spot it in any of the 09/10 sets

Using Bart's idea as inspiration I had a bit of a play and came up with this No idea how well it'd actually work outside of LDD though.

I hope the Flying Dutchman does have some unique minifigs. TLG are over doing some of the minifigs at the moment and for no good reason really :-/ Oh, and for UK members, might be of interest to note that at the moment, Tesco direct has QAR for £76.00. -
A small little scene to pass the time whilst I rebuild. Brickbeard's Bounty II still proved to be no match for the well trained Imperial's and their flagship. Brickbeard, all washed up and about to be imprisoned. Brickbeard's daughter escapes, vowing to free her father and pay back the redcoats for the destruction of the Bounty II (one of these days I'll get around to sorting my lego out so that I can create better scenes to go with the models)

Thanks for the compliments :) I do like it, but I feel I can make it better, so it'll be a pile of bricks soon. I just spent the evening sorting out a load of other bricks to use with the rebuild.

I don't know how easy it would be to find the sets now, but I'd suggest "Jungle Duel" from the Indiana Jones series (not one of the best sets, but...). It has four of the 2-stud hooks. Also has a few other bits that'd be useful for piratey things. Of course, probably not going to be value for money if you're only after a few parts, but just a thought :-)

[pid][/pid] 122D Hiya, Found this forum a few weeks back while looking for inspiration. I'm on a bit of a pirate/medieval kick at the moment and I thinking that now I've found this place I might stick around :-) My first model up for viewing, is Brickbeard's Bounty II I used two Brickbeard's Bounty's, Shipwreck Hideout and some other bits and pieces. I based it partly on the IFS but made some significant changes. I built a larger cabin that includes access to the lower decks via staircase and also provides a space for the crew. Then for the lower deck I had a galley, some under the stairs storage and then the gun ports. Due to the additions I had to cut down on the number of gun ports :-/ At the far end, I had a prison cell and the anchor winch mechanism. This was my first proper attempt at a MOC ship, and having seen some of the ships created by others I've been inspired to make modifications. So I'm going to rebuild from scratch and take a bit more time over it I think. Comments are welcome :-)
