Union Jack is another name for the union flag and if a new flag is designed it would a English, Welsh and Northern Irish design. -
Where we are proud to be British

I agree and it would be such a shame considering all that the Uk has achieved in history because of each individual countries input e.g wars. The union jack will look like this if Scotland leave I prefer the flag as it is now. -

Do the Scottish members here want to stay British? -
So I just came back from a 15 year absence/dark age and...

Will you be buying the new LOTR sets? -
The detail in helms deep should be really good because of the piece count but I'm most looking forward to seeing what the finalised image of attack on weathertop looks like because I was shocked when I found out it had 430 pices when I thought it had only 250-300 pieces by looking at the preliminary image.

Does anyone know what the prices will be in pounds? These are the prices I'm guessing they are. For gandald arrives I would guess £10 Shelob attacks-£15 Uruk-hai army for £25 Attack on weathertop-£40 Mines of moria-£60-70 Battle for helms deep-£103

Is this the First ever LLEGO Castle?
Saruman the White replied to SirSven7's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lego didn't have a lot of imagination back then judging by that castle. -
Future LotR and Hobbit sets

And also a faramirs ambush set which contains an oliphant, easterlings, faramir and a few of his forestmen and also a few trees. -
One things for sure, these sets are far greater value than the new star wars sets.

I was looking at the prices written By just2good, he didnt mention they were on sale. I don't know how much they are in British pounds but they probably will be expensive.
-
Such a shame that the website you found those prices at doesn't have the Orc forge.

That's quite good

Fantastically well said. June can't come quick enough.

The things about LOTR is that it never fades away or gets boring, even though the film series ended 9 years ago many people still rewatch the films and read the books and enjoy them just as much when they were first out and will buy anything relating to the series. Star wars hasn't had a film out for a while but lego still release sets from the original series and fans buy them.
-
I wonder how many pieces it would take to create a good orthanc tower. I really cant wait for orthanc to come out. Fingers crossed it will be a set in wave two.
-
I'm quite shocked for the lack of support regarding the LOTR theme. So many of you say it won't last apart from a rare few but what you must understand is outside this forum LOTR has just as much fans has star wars has or maybe more. I predict the theme will last just over 10 years.
-
I'm afraid that's hardly necessary because LOTR is set in a medival fantasy world whereas Harry potter is not. It. Yes Harry Potter may have a castle in it but it's still not set at the same time period to be put in this particular theme and obviously it has nothing to do with medival times and the same goes for prince of Persia.
-
It would be more realistic to give the figures white skin because European countries during medival times had only white people therefor it would make more sense.
-
No the fourth most important important character would probably be Sauron
-
Ask them if they are continuing Harry potter.
-
Goodbye kingdoms but it isn't all bad because we have an even better theme replacing you.
-
I've never imagined that anyone could think that way about the LOTR films. They were perfectly made and I don't drink red bull. LOTR is more for adults but children love it as well. Star wars the original trilogy wasn't made for children but they love building the lego sets from the films.
-
Well I certainly think otherwise. If you are a castle fan then there's no need to worry for Lego can continue the two themes together at the same time, there is no need for either to be discounted. Then again I reckon many castle fans shall stop buying the sets when they see how amazing the LOTR sets are. Already the first wave is looking spectacular, just compare it with the current kingdom sets and you shall see the amount of detail the LOTR sets contain when in comparison with the kingdom sets and we only have the preliminary images. So you can just imagine what the final images will look like. As for LOTR not lasting, I hope your not serious because I see so much potential within this theme. There are so many different characters and locations Lego can bring to life using such an exciting, beautiful world that is middle earth. Forget about Lego star wars for lord of he rings is here (let's just hope the LOTR sets aren't as expensive as the star wars sets).

I don't think the Orc forge is a rumour any more, now that brickset has it listed as a set for next year. It's possible that saruman could make an appearance in this set which will full fill many peoples hopes.

MOC: The road that crosses the valley
Saruman the White replied to drakke's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That is really good, a little more pieces to add more detail and it would be amazing.
