Not sure where you can get another box for your Jabba Palace Set. eBay or another online auction, perhaps? Try garage sales or yard sales. My personal view of the box - keep it if you have the storage space, toss it out if you don't. There are just times when it's hard to let go of something beautiful as a perfectly taken image.

Very interesting, indeed... Thanks for sharing. Has anyone noticed this before or are these just happening recently? Could there be a connection with the advent move of Lego facilities in other countries/location, thus new employees and all?

Not sure if this was already discussed in the past... my apologies if ever. Does anyone know the number of sets The Lego Company produced for each set? (Ex. 25,000 per each set) - - What about sets that are "exclusives" or "limited edition"?\ Does the number of sets produced varies depending on the size/number of pieces in the set? AFOL SF

I have both Sandcrawler and UCS Star Destroyer built. Played with the Sandcrawler for a while before it became a display piece. No problem whatsover with regards to its fragility (if there is such a word). The UCS Star Destroyer is another thing. I don't think you want to play with it. It's more of a static display and it is a bit fragile and have to be careful in moving it from one place to another. It's quite heavy, too, but for the price... I say go for it. If you're into minifig-scale, I say go with the Sandcrawler. You might not get another chance to own this epic StarWars vehicle. Good luck in your decision making and may the force be with you. I have washed my sails using a small amount of dishwasher soap and immediately rinsing them. For drying, I leave them in the garage or any place where there's a light wind/draft. Once dried, I place the sails in-between pages of a thick book and leave them there for a week or so. No ironing required/never tried that. Hope this helps! AFOL SF

Dwarves Mine makes an encoure performance!

Out of curiosity... now that the Dwarf's Mine is being re-released in the US, will it still have the "Limited Edition" stamped outside the box? Will TLC use the same box or will this come out with a totally new box? Anyone, any information? AFOL SF -
Dwarves Mine makes an encoure performance!
AFOL SF replied to astoriabluelegos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for this informative response to my inquiry. Good luck to all of those who're in need of a set - I say don't have 2nd thoughts when it comes out again. Just get one and be done with it. -
Hello everyone, Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how difficult is it to make a video of each 'major' Lego Convention that happens around the world each year? The video could run for as short as 30 minutes or as long as an hour and a half. Why am I asking? So that those of us who couldn't attend can be able to see/watch the event besides looking at all the pictures posted (which is very helpful and informative by the way). AFOL SF

Hello Brickheads, Has anyone been collecting the various Lego tubs that TLC has released from the beginning until 2006? It's only now that I'm appreciating the 'value' (as far as brick storage is concerned) of these said tubs. I wonder how many 'color combinations' are there? This will help me in my quest in acquiring one of each color/combination. AFOL SF

I decided to call in sick today and went to the Lego store. Lucky me they already have their stock of the Green Grocer, so I closed my eyes when I signed the creditcard receipt. I feel happy though, being able to get a hold of the Green Grocer this early on. If only the Lego store would stock on the Air Mail Plane... I'm still looking for it. AFOL SF

Dwarves Mine makes an encoure performance!
AFOL SF replied to astoriabluelegos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When this set was available at the (3) Target stores in my area last year, I never saw it come down in price. It was selling for US$49.95. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is so special about this set? I would've picked 1 up then but the price turned me off. Pls educate me. AFOL SF -
I was at the Lego Store in Hillsdale Mall (northern CA) today and a lady was asking to see the latest catalog. A store employee put out this 'weird' looking-skinny catalog/more like a sunday store flyer which was already in a beat up condition. I didn't think more of it because I assumed it was one of those store flyers that employees used to have a quick reference on new sets. Now that you guys have mentioned it... that could've been it. And no, I have not yet received my copy in the mail. AFOL SF You are correct... occasionally TLC will send out a smaller-than-usual catalog. There was also one time wherein the company mailed out a bigger-than-usual catalog. I haven't seen another one since then and I have been keeping copies of each catalog since 1991 (though my collection is not complete). AFOL SF

Hhmmnn... could it be one of the earlier picture frames/photo holders that were an exclusive sell on Legoland California? AFOL SF -
Instructions To Build ALL 30 Models Of The Lego Hobby Train (10183)
AFOL SF replied to AFOL SF's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Ah... decisions... decisions... A new computer or more (new) Lego sets? What should it be, my friends? I think the Legos will win on this one. There is no doubt in my mind. But thank you all for your inputs. I hope to reciprocate in the future. -
A very informative review, indeed. Thank you so much for doing so. Now I know that the price is worth every penny leaving my pocket. ;-) What do you guys think is TLC putting up as the next modular set? Is it asking too much of TLC to produce 1 modular set each quarter (4 times a year)?

Does anyone know which airline is offering this promo?

Instructions To Build ALL 30 Models Of The Lego Hobby Train (10183)
AFOL SF replied to AFOL SF's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You are correct, Andy... having an old/slow PC is an issue for me so I am looking for alternate way(s) to get a copy of the other 29 instructions. Any suggestions? -
Instructions To Build ALL 30 Models Of The Lego Hobby Train (10183)
AFOL SF replied to AFOL SF's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for the response, Gallop... So how easy/hard is it to get the other 29 instructions? I wish Lego gave us (consumers) the option to buy these instructions separately - I don't think it would've cost the company that much to produce a CD/DVD. Oh, well... I thought I'd ask to find out if anyone would know something that I don't. AFOL SF -
There is this nagging question I have been wanting to ask you guys. Here goes: It's about the Lego Hobby Train (Set #10183). It comes with instruction to build 1 model and it says you can build another 29 models with instructions for each that can be downloaded on the Lego website. My question is: Has anyone ever downloaded ALL 30 instructions and burned a CD/DVD copy for their own personal use? The reason why I'm asking is that I don't have the sources to download all 30 instructions and my PC at home is very old and slow and can't handle the size. I'm sure there are some people who has the same dilemma as I do and would love to get a copy of each of these said instructions. Suggestions, comments... is appreciated. AFOL SF

I was about to turn off my computer and call it a day when I decided to check Lego.Com for the Green Grocer (10185). It's now posted as "available" with a price of US$149.99. I'm a bit shock considering this is the most expensive of the 3 modular sets (to date) that Lego has released. Is this a reasonable price?
-
Good quality paper, too! It was quite expensive (on eBay) for its size - about 8"X8" (or close to).
