Hello everyone, I am sure many of you are feeling excited like I do, especially for those who have gotten the chance to hold those new LEGO Collectable Minifigures in your hands. As before, I am very pleased to be back again to bring our Eurobricks community, another brand new sequel of this very successful LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series! This time, the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 offers even more new and exciting minifigures and elements that will simply blow your mind away at the end of this review. Firstly, I will like to give my thanks to TLG (The LEGO Group) for being appreciative to provide me with another opportunity to do up this special exclusive review for this brand new series. Also, to my fellow Eurobricks Staff and our LEGO Ambassador, CopMike for being so supportive and willing, so I can continue to enjoy the opportunity to share this experience and tradition for our Eurobricks community. Last but not least, I am thanking a special someone, named "Belun" who has definitely done lots of behind-the-scene work with me together for this review during the past weekend, spending hours and hours with me doing the photo-taking session. As always, it's time to view the polling memories once more. With Series 1 and Series 2 launching the first waves in the year 2010 and it continue with another 3 waves of minifigures craze in the year 2011, putting Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5. Below are some of the image links that portray the different angles of the box. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] The 6 different colour packaging themes for Series 1 to 6 boxes What could possibly contain within these mysterious sealed packets? Let's start our New Year by completing a set of 16 unique minifigures in Series 6! Many of you including myself are totally mesmerise with this new Series 6. Simply because, the new Series 6 has opened another new window of imagination and possibilities that you have always dream of! I have read many suggestions in this topic and I am sure you will have agrees with me that TLG has definitely noted of our suggestions and as TLG progresses and presenting the new Series 6 minifigures' designs, you will see how far this fabulous new minifigures theme had achieved since the miraculous start in the humble beginning of the year 2010. Front view comparison between Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 packets I am sure when the next new Series is available, I will bound to have difficulty putting all of those together. Well, it does look very pleasing to see all of the packets in one nice group picture. This is the front view of the packet, while this is the back image the current Series 6 packet. For myself, I have approached the method of "touch and feel". No longer relying on any of the past approaches and I didn't even notice if there are dots at the back of the packets. Put it simply, I trust my fingers and my mind. As the Series progresses, I have managed to gotten all of the minifigures that I want through the "touch and feel" method even at the cost of wasting my time, standing at a LEGO outlet touching those packets. At the end of it, this method never fails me except my fingers will need to go relaxing therapy at the end of such tedious exercise. Front view of the Minifigs Series 6 promotional leaflet Back view of the Minifigs Series 6 promotional leaflet 1) The elusive Alien Many sci-fiction fans have always been interested and constantly in search of extraterrestrial life. I supposed seeing an actual design of the popular iconic Alien in LEGO minifigure form does make one felt surprised. Honestly, I could never expect to see such a design in LEGO and it made me wanted to place it in Cities or even Space layouts. This is another image of the Alien. Parts assortment Apart from the typical looking ray guns which is now seen as white and the green emitting laser pulse, there are no other accessories. I will believe that the head mold is unique on its own and it can be readily associate to alien lifeforms. Nothing too fanciful in its grey looking shade. Mdm, how do we handle "ET" emergency cases? Space mercenaries for hire 2) The fearless Celtic Warrior This Celtic warrior is originated from the historic Celts. Dressed in light armour fashion, arming with its long sword and shield, this warrior fears nothing. The design will allows one to form its own mercenary army or a new fighting force that is not to be reckon with. This is another image of the Celtic Warrior. Parts assortment The Celtic warrior's sword and shield is very useful for medieval era. The blade is much longer and nicer than the typical short-swords. The overall design and the new colour hairpiece will be very useful in customising different LEGO minifigures. There is side printing on the legs. Truly pleasing to see this minifigure made into production. Crown Kingdom approaching the Celtic Nation for alliance 3) The tiring Sleepyhead "Yawn yawn". I guess this Sleepyhead is still feeling exhausted and tired. Look at its sleepy eyes and you will know that he is barely awake. At least, there is Mr. Teddy by his side. I will love to place this inside the Family Home or any Town houses where he can enjoy his stay in his fresh pyjamas. This is another image of the Sleepyhead. Parts assortment The brown looking teddy bear is very lovely and detailed. The headpiece is printed on both sides and the other side of the head show its peaceful sleeping expression. The minifigure side shows side printing on its arms and legs. There is back-printing at the back of it. It's definitely one of the detailed minifigure around. Sleeping soundly 4) The symbolic Lady Liberty Lady Liberty or commonly known as the "Statue of Liberty". The iconic statue symbolises freedom. I am actually surprised to see this symbolic icon making its way to the LEGO minifigures world in its true sand-green form. It is certainly a miniature version of this brick-built set of the 3450 Statue of Liberty. This is another image of the Lady Liberty. Parts assortment This is an extremely detailed looking minifigure. Every single detail stay true to the real statue including this tablet, where it inscribe "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI". It associates the date of independence of the United States. Even the headpiece at the back is remarkable. This is New York! 5) The lawless Bandit This lawless Bandit is armed and dangerous and he got absolute no regards for the law and the sheriff. For a bad guy, the design is much better and nicer than the old LEGO bandits in the 1990s Western theme. This is another image of the Bandit. Parts assortment The 2 black revolvers are of a newer colour. The design of the torso and legs also shows its ammo belt on both side including the back. You can view its true appearance in here. I am sure this will be another popular minifigure around. Hands up Cowboy... Showdown with the Mafia Gangster 6) The gorgeous Flamenco Dancer The beautiful Flamenco Dancer originates from Spain and I actually thinks she was supposed to be in the Wild West scene at first. Obviously, I felt her dress is much suited in that kind of scene. Oh well, I wasn't very knowledgeable until I had done some reading later. This is another image of the Flamenco Dancer. Parts assortment There is a new colour for the ornamental fan and back-printing at the back. This is not a very exciting minifigure for me, but I guess the red dress torso can be quite useful for some. The Wild Wild West East meets West? 7) The interactive Clockwork Robot The squarish looking Clockwork Robot reminds me of those old vintage looking robot toys that requires you to wind at the back in order for it to move about. True enough, this robot does comes with winding mechanism. In fact, I find it pretty cute looking and staying true to its classic looking appearance. I am quite fond of the red hands too and its square top headpiece with all of the robotic details in it including the receiving antenna. This is another image of the Clockwork Robot. Parts assortment There is no accessories available in this clockwork robot except for the winding mechanism which can be seen at the back. The key can be detached and it can be used for other purposes like "Jack-in-the Box", for example. Obsolete? 8) The mythical Minotaur Greek mythical fans are going to go crazy over this menacing Minotaur. I, for one welcome those mythical creatures in the LEGO medieval settings. It adds new spice and whole new complications for the solders in their respective kingdoms, because these minotaurs are much stronger than any living creatures when you put it for combat. This is another image of the Minotaur. Parts assortment Don't you guys agreed that the mold for this headpiece is simply incredible? Words can't describe my joy when I played around with this minifigure. You can also view its back over here. War raging among mythical creatures 9) The cunning Leprechaun The Leprechaun is a type of mythical fairy spending their time making and selling shoes. He will store his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, if you can ever find it! This is another image of the Leprechaun. Parts assortment This is pretty amazing and the pot is particularly useful though. I don't have much use for this fellow except using the pots and his good-looking suit print on its torso for some enhancements. The pearl gold round studs are required to be stacked together in order to see the golden brim in the pot. Hand over that stack of gold 10) The mighty Roman Solder History fans have been always wishing for LEGO to touch onto the Roman empire and here we are, this is the very first iconic looking Roman Solder in its best form. It is very beautifully created, with the new helmet and shield. This is going to be a blast for most LEGO collectors and army builders. It is going to be served as one of the hardest and highly sought for minifigure in Series 6. I am pretty confident of that. This is another image of the Roman Solder. Parts assortment The parts assortment are very good, especially with the spear, shield and helmet. The top of the helmet allows one to place a plume, like the one in this example. However, I find the side printing of the legs quite poorly printed especially the red print which clearly shows its unevenness. Fighting for my freedom For honour and glory 11) The meticulous Surgeon Great to see this new City related minifigure into the Hospital scene. Instead of seeing the usual doctors, nurses, patients and paramedics, finally we got to see a specialised surgeon that can be placed in the operating theater or consultation. The details in this specialised job is very nicely done up. This is another image of the Surgeon. Parts assortment The parts assortment are pretty good and I love the X-ray scanned results on the 2x2 printed tile. It is hilarious to see the LEGO anatomy onto a printed tile. The only downside is there is no dual prints for the headpiece without the surgical mask on. Time to find our patient Stand still and don't move! 12) The funky Skater Girl I am hearing it, yes I can hear it. People don't really like the repetitiveness of Skaters, similar to those Snowboarders. For sure, this female Skater will add some new variety together with the past releases. It will be an useful civilian to be added into the City streets. This is another image of the Skater Girl. Parts assortment The prints on her body is much better and complex, unlike the previous skaters. The hairpiece contain a strain of purple-dyed colour at the fringe and side prints on the arms and the back of the minifigure as well. Even the skateboard itself contains a nice purple prints with the skull and bat on it. Skaters trio 13) The striking Intergalactic Girl Our Series 1 spaceman is not lonely anymore and he got himself a partner to fight against space enemies. This Intergalactic girl bears the "Classic Space" emblem on the chest and I am sure she is part of the space crops that dealt with Blacktrons related villains. This is another image of the Intergalactic Girl. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and I like the fact that this minifigure comes with a female hairpiece unlike our male counterpart which has none. So, this is certainly an improvement to note. The ray guns and emitting laser pulses are of the same kind. Well, I don't expect to see a difference since they are standing on the same side together. I am going to take you down Space defenders Enemies are around us 14) The strong Butcher Ah, this is another new addition to the City scene. Now you can place a butcher in the wet market scene where he can set up a stall to sell his meat related products like beef and chicken. Perhaps, you can even use him as an assistant for a gourmet chef. This is another image of the Butcher. Parts assortment The butcher's hat and the T-bone raw steak are useful new parts. But what I like most, is the butcher's cleaver/knife. It will adds into the fine kitchen accessories assortment too. Marketplace 15) The charismatic Mechanic Some of you might be feeling bored with mechanics but I am sure not with these stylish wannabe looking Elvis Presley. This guy, named Raph must have been a great fan of the King and is easily recognisable with his iconic hairdo. This is another image of the Mechanic. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty decent and the red toolbox is a fine addition to the City garages. You might want to note that the spanner is of a slightly bigger scale than the usual black ones that we see in other LEGO sets. New mechanic in town 16) The magical Genie I supposed Aladdin might just get his wish come true? To me, seeing the genie in this series is totally unexpected. It is like seeing a childhood bedtime story coming to LEGO in actual minifigure form in this complete new mold. This is another image of the Genie. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average and the ruby emblem on the head and the lamp are some nice touches to make the whole minifigure looks like the real genie. Your wish is my command, my queen Believing in those legends Meeting some of my favourite looking mighty looking warriors This section was specially written to feature my love for this mighty looking warriors in the LEGO Collectable Series. These are some of the highly sought minifigures on my end and I didn't managed to complete the desired quantities for all of them, simply because it was too hard to get. For myself, this was a starting dream for an army builder to amass these minifigures in large numbers. In this picture, this is a compilation of brave medieval and legendary warriors that is a thing in the past, where it touches on swords and shields. Every warriors in there, was something that you wished for to build an army to fight against your rivalry faction in the make-believe LEGO scenario. It was great joy and pleasure where I place all of them together to see different rich history and culture together. It was a pity that the earlier Series 1 and 2 were in limited quantities but I am very happy to see these type of minifigures making it a special place in my current collection. A general comparison for the Collectable Minifigures Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 So, what do everyone feels about the current LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6? In my humble opinion, I think LEGO has done another piece of amazing and commendable piece of art in the LEGO Collectable Minifigures chapters! With the current series in hand, there is now a total of incredible 96 minifigures made available in this single theme! I don't think there is any other LEGO themes out there which can feature so many unique LEGO minifigures. The LEGO Collectable Minifigures series has come a long way and it is coming in stronger than ever! From what I can see, the entire theme is getting bolder and daring by placing many of the highly desired and complicated designs that can't be made possible in current LEGO themes but an opportunity itself to be presented in the LEGO Collectable Minifigures series where we enjoy getting the minifigure on its own without resorting ourselves to buy LEGO sets. It is not about LEGO bricks but it is all about LEGO minifigures. A gateway for LEGO collectors to truly expand their minifigures collections through this theme. I have been staring at my collection lately and I have been enjoying all of these unique minifigures at one view. It was a speculator unimaginable feeling. I am really glad that the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 is not the last of its kind and there will be more surprises coming along the way! General Statistics for Minifigures Series 6 Below is the combination which I have received from my box, 4 Aliens 5 Celtic Warriors 3 Sleepyheads 3 Ladies Liberty 5 Bandits 4 Flamenco Dancers 3 Clockwork Robots 5 Minotaurs 4 Leprechauns 3 Roman Solders 3 Surgeons 4 Skater Girls 4 Intergalactic Girls 3 Butchers 4 Mechanics 3 Genies Based on the above, I managed to achieve 3 full complete sets of 16 unique minifigs each. It means I have only 12 remaining random spares left. Read down to find out what are the remaining spares I have. My remaining spares 1 Aliens 2 Celtic Warriors 0 Sleepyheads 0 Ladies Liberty 2 Bandits 1 Flamenco Dancers 0 Clockwork Robots 2 Minotaurs 1 Leprechauns 0 Roman Solders 0 Surgeons 1 Skater Girls 1 Intergalactic Girls 0 Butchers 1 Mechanics 0 Genies Data Analysis Based on the obtained data, I have drafted my basic analysis accordingly. Buying 1 full complete MISB box will allow you to achieve 3 maximum complete unique set and this is better for those who are bending to buy a sealed box. I really hope the distribution above, will also be the same for you in your respective country. So far, each of the 16 unique minifigures have an equal chance of getting 3 out of 48 packets, when the box is opened and consumers will buy it separately. That will be 6.25% probability based only on 48 packets. When you add the remaining 12 spares into the calculation, 7 unique minifigures are only available at 21 out of 60 packets and this translates to 35% in total and 3.5% each, which makes it even harder to achieve by just doing it randomly. Whereas, the probability of getting the Celtic Warriors, Bandits and Minotaurs are on the higher note, since they are available at 15 out of 60 and this translates to 25% in total and 8.33% each. However, the likelihood that this percentage will be lowered by at least half due to the introduction of the dotted system and fanatic LEGO hunters like ourselves who are scrambling to search for the ones that they are highly desired by many. However, I am also very pleased to note that some of the popular minifigures like the Celtic Warriors and Minotaurs are on the highest distribution point since these 2 minifigures are generally classified under army-builders search. Thus, it will provides a much higher chance to find it in those opened boxes. It is a pity that the Roman Solders is not a part of this and I also believes that the Roman Solders will be treated like a Series 2 Spartan equivalent. To conclude and summaries, based on the probability demonstrated by this review, as an example, here are the results, High probability 1) Celtic Warriors 2) Bandits 3) Minotaurs Total range: 25% Each: 8.33% Medium probability 1) Aliens 2) Flamenco Dancers 3) Leprechauns 4) Skater Girls 5) Intergalactic Girls 6) Mechanics Total range: 40% Each: 6.67% Low probability 1) Sleepyheads 2) Ladies Liberty 3) Clockwork Robots 4) Roman Solders 5) Surgeons 6) Butchers 7) Genies Total range: 35% Each 5% A few close up images of my current Collectable Minifigures Series collection To conclude, the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 is another remarkably amazing piece of LEGO products. Seeing the pictures at first is not as exciting as compared with playing with the actual stuff. These minifigures are really incredible and in most cases, have made lots of LEGO collectors, a dream coming true. You can't see much disappointments for me at my end. With a better distribution among the minifigures allocation and providing a maximum of 3 complete sets in a sealed box plus lots of newly designed minifigures that doesn't really made me felt that almost none is made as a filer. In my case, the Roman Solder, Celtic Warrior, Minotaur, Bandits, Lady Liberty, Genie, Sleepyhead and Surgeon are my favourite Series 6 minifigures ever and it will also served as another hard challenge for me and the rest to gather them all. Please note that the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 no longer contains the placement of spare parts. This was practiced since the start of Series 3. Summary review Playability: 9.5/10 (More and more exciting new minifigures to be integrated into your existing collection.) Design: 9.5/10 (Very detailed parts and accessories such as lady liberty's headpiece, alien's head, butcher's knife, X-ray results, etc.) Price: 8/10 (This rating has dropped and I heard the new Series 6 pricing has gone up, or at least in Singapore from what I heard .) Overall: 9.3/10 (No doubt about it, the LEGO Collectable Minifigures has definitely continue to maintain its top position.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? A heartiest congrats to all of the winners! I am glad this is all over. Whew! I haven't been commenting alot on the entries but I have been viewing the entries day in and out. I totally enjoyed it very much. In fact, I have not seen so many Batman MOCs in such a short span of time and I also didn't realise the strong interest among our members who are interested in this theme to challenge themselves to bring Gotham City inspiration right here in Eurobricks. This wasn't possible if The Penguin didn't donate his treasure trove to our community to launch this first of the kind contest. Of course, with the support of our EB staffers, I am very pleased to see this contest became a reality and eventually a fruitful pleasant experience for all of you. It was an eye opening experience for me and I hope it has been the same experience for the rest as well. Meanwhile, there might be another coming surprise? I can't comment much yet but I do believe in miracles.
