May I add question to this topic? I've also been frustrated by the bad steering geometry in official sets but which set has the most accurate steering? By that I mean "normal" steering, not articulated or 4-wheel. Best steering in a MOC (with instructions)?

I'd love to see a updated 8860, with everything that TLG can come up with in terms of realism within that type of set.

Just out of curiosity, what is illegal building techniques? Non-LEGO parts?

This might be a stupid question but pls remember I just got back into Lego. About the gearbox in post 276, how do you make the motor turn so slow? Is it the "differént" batterybox? Cause I dont see enough gears to slow down so much. thanks in advance.

Hmmm, I must be doing something wrong then. I cant get the 8 tooth gear to turn freely(correct word?). It's to close to the beams around it.

Hi, I've been lurking around this forum for a while but havent had the interest to post until now. Just wondering if anybody else has thought about that(or am I doing it wrong) in the b-model of the 9391 there is something "wrong". Look at the picture 11 of the instructions, how is the gear supposed to be able to turn in there? I love these small models but sometimes they are to small.
