I noticed something: In the pic of the characters, it looks like Gandalf's beard wraps around his head. Perhaps, like the dwarf beard, it will have hair on the back.

The leg likely will be like the peg-leg piece. (reversable) I also, think that the cybernetic limbs are odd on Victorian-style Minifigs. Pirates pieces, (hook, peg-leg) would fit the theme better, in my opinion. Perhaps TLG will use those pieces in a new space theme; they would look better there.

Were the Sith Trooper helmets this piece, or a new one? Did EpI Obi-Wan have a new hairpiece? (or a hairpiece at all?)

I would, but these are the only clones I have. (And I am a purist) I customized them as much as I could. Raxus Prime may not have been the best showcase of my building abillity, as it could seem slapped-together. I am working on some other MOCs (SW and non-SW). I will post them when I have finished. And I WILL try again to get in!

On a running horse it would look fine. Also, how is this different than the old horses rearing on box art? (In terms of static barding)

Why not? The only difference is that the legs are in a different position.
