well heres my deal. i have a girlfriend ive been with for 4 years, she knows and respects my facination and love of legos. she supports it alot more then me going out and partying and getting wasted...the problem is she has a little brother...7.. so weve been living together for 2 years now and her little brother visits us often as he still lives with her parents. now he always wants to play with my legos and the first few times i said sure. to my dissapointment he pretty much destroyed all my MOCs, took apart all my seperated themes and left a huge mess in my room. the next time i even caught the lil bugger chewing the heads of minifigs to take them off, then i said ok, if you want to play theres 3 simple rules: 1: NO BITING. 2: clean up ALL lego after your done. 3: put them back the way you found it.....it worked for a while but then he started slipping again. then i told him no lego for you, lil monster. my gf was upset as to why i dont let a kid play with kids toys...i told her its not toys, its my collection of very meaningful personal building pieces.:) so im at the point where i dont let kids play with my legos as im too dissapointed after seeing them get their dirty lil greasy fingers on them... and once a few college buddies of mine came over, and saw my collection on the living room table, taking great interest they wanted to play with them as well. i thought its ok, college kids, what harm can that be.... well one actually built a kool odd pyramid of slopes, one was swooshing and wwwrruumming vehicles around and one just pretty much was taking everything apart he could find, again a big mess after and i deciede no lego nights for anyone other then my self. and after that a nice batch of mary jane slipped out and we decieded to inhale it all. and i told them not in the living room as all my legos were out....to their suprise they didnt understand why...and i told them my personal collection would lose 75% of its value in my eyes and they arent as nice with smoke on them...they didnt believe me and tried to convince me to just forget it and how cool it would be to enjoy both the mary jane and the creative building it would ensure after. well i had none of that and told them NO SMOKING IN ONE ROOM WITH LEGOS!!!! and so it was left at that. yes i am a smoker. but i dont smoke in my bedroom where my lego usually is and i air out other rooms 1-2 hours before i take them to other rooms....im sensitive about smoke getting to my little yellow friends.... so besides my odd experiences, do you let others play with your lego collections? and have you had any noteable experiences with them? share on.

Im very displeased to constantly see 7036 appear for a couple days on S@H and then dissapear. I know it was a special edition set, but the Skeleton Ship Attack is more special and less rare in my opinion and the dwarves mine is realy the only set to contain dwarves, the troll ship has 1, and the dwarf catapult has one. but its a great set with lots of potencial and ide hate to have to buy it on ebay or bricklink for 70+ $.... so lets let Lego know we want it available all year round!!!

wow just today i was thinking about it, how cool would it be to have an advent calendar for different themes, and what ideas i would have for a castle one, fast forward an hour and im browing the brickset site and i bump into this:: http://brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=7979-1 in 3 simple words: A-MA-ZING ! ! ! cant wait for castle 2008... *wub*

i wanted to purchase a dwarves mine and a chess set in january and i noticed that its not on S@H...i hope its still being sold at TRU. (and on BL theres very few and very expensive 7036s...) and in other news they changed the new castle line's name from Undead to Fantasy Era on Bricklink. kind of funny i thought. anyone have any info or input to enlighten me??

Well if it would happen that would still be in over 2 years. LEGO could easily pump out 2 more years worth of succesful sets for the new castle theme and then take on the Hobbit theme if it wouldnt be so finansialy hyped up. im sure it would be awesome, flesh colored mega medieval mini figs, battle packs galore, great scene sets. The Hobbit was a wonderful book and the cartoon movie didnt give it justice, ive been hoping since LOTR movies that the Hobbit would be made. it could have great petencial.

so ok, i frequent the sites of brickshelf and brickset, and more lately this forum. i read reviews often on brickset and frankly am so tired of the low quality unrealistic reviews i read. take for example people reviewing the new castle series. my top 2 annoying reviews are: 1: need like 10 more minifigs. 2: needs classic dragon, new one is too <insert that tiresome argument>. think of it this say....TLC is a COMPANY, meaning a business seeking to make a profit, its not a public service or a charity, in reality they are here to make money. being a business, Lego wants you to buy more sets to get your army built, why would they put 10-16 figs in a single set? that would lose profit for them. the number of figs TLC has been putting into sets since 2005 is much much better. the SW battle packs speak from them selves. the new castle line smaller sets have army builder written all over them... yet people still complain that "ohh i need like 36 more minifigs to my castle, TLC is cheap..." AGE FACTOR.... lets face it kids are growing up faster then my generation(86er) and the decade of the 70s, 80s. sets in the 80s were mostly 6,7+ and now its mostly 5+...why because lego has to keep in competition with the likes of XBOX and Wii and other more technologically developed toys. put 6 sets of any lego in front of a 10 year old and an XBOX with any random game, im sure 9/10 times the kid will take the XBOX. kids arent interested in the toys we were interested in. i was starting my black market activies at age 17(sex, drugs, rock and roll). i see kids in Hungary and Israel with facial piercings at age 12, 14 year olds dressing like experinced concubines. it kind of sickens me in which direction the youth is going. But lego is reacting as well. taking age limits down to kids who still have imagination. and making more colorful lego sets to keep up with the competition of other building toys. they also making bigger pieces because they are looking for a younger market. Lego is making toys for 5-12 year olds, and the 5-12 year olds still stuck in us older people. it is adapting to these conditions. so i really hate it then 20 somethings say man too many <insert that tiresome argument> pieces in sets. as much as i love lego. its the 20 years olds fault, lego is making sets for his age bracket. but im happy lego is more AFOL concious as well. making sets like cafe corner and other large scale, size sets. the new dragon i think is fine, it has much more playability then the old dragons that could only move their jaws and attachable wings. the new dragon is more minifig scale and more scary. i know ive only lightly touched on the subject and mostly in a rude way, im just upset how people react to something they love that isnt directly made for them. i hope peoples needs will be more furfilled with the 2008 line. im really happy since 2005, the six wide vehicles, the new building methods, the smarter use are larger pieces. give lego a chance! they doing a great job for the past 3 years compared to the past 8 before! i stand behind lego and have full faith in them. and all you negative reviewers: dont post your own selfish unintelligent reviews, because its a waste of internet space that will one day run out!! so thats all.

ok so i have a big problem... im currently living in Israel, and the past 4 years i lived in Budapest, Hungary and im originally from Cali. i dont buy legos in Israel because its seriously double the price of budapest, the US or online. my parents and sister are living in california and we are meeting up in budapest for christmas. as some of you know there was a big buy 1 get 1 50% off sale in toys r us in america (here in israel too, but legos are still too expensive, and talk about NO selection) so i told them for xmas i would like the new Kings Castle Siege, 7094 and i would pay for the other one. i sent them photos, links, pricetags, TRU store locations, the works, it couldnt of been more clear.... today i checked my sisters myspace photos and saw a new pic of her and my dad decorating the christmas tree. in the background there were 2 big lego boxes! so i get really excited i took a closer look and to my SHOCK i was it was 2, 10176 Special edition king leos castle....with sticker shields, and non theme minifigs...GROSS and i already own 2 regular king leos castles...... what am i to do!?!?! im sure the sale at TRU is over and i hope they didnt send it to europe yet...by airmail.. i really dont want those sets and would much rather have the new castles. should i tell them to exchange it? would they still get the sale on returns? will they be dissapointed? so many questions... i have not a clue!?!? what would you do???

any one have any idea when we can expect the impulse sets to drop? ill be in Hungary for new years and xmas, and want to pick some up before i leave again back to Israel, been travelling inbetween the two for a few months... im really excited about the impulse sets, gonna get the knight with the new torso, lookin awesome :) 08 is lookin sooo great! :)
