  1. Amazing. You are a master.
  2. I guess you can re-arrange, re-model and adjust your scenes until you get approval to expand.
  3. I love it. It's clean yet bricky and captures the feel of the Classic space sets. For some reason I really like the large window areas where the crew can actually look out and view the space or sky around them. And the control panels are pretty cool as well. It's a space ship, it should have every dial and guage and digital readout ever made! Too many sets think a 1x2 printed tile is good enough... Only detraction is the little buggy fitting on right under the thrusters. Surely it would be burnt on every take off? Overall though, far more positives. Good work!
  4. Nice to see the love for older trains but I can understand why these weren't wildy popular at the time. The Lego diesels of the early 2000's were big, bold and realistic. The steam engines however just don't have the same appeal, to me at least. The solid, unbroken colours, the blockiness of it all, and the wheel set up..It it just doesn't convey the power and grace of the steam era. BNSF or the Super Cheif don't look too shabby when placed next to their spiritual successor, the big Maersk. These trains are not in the same league as the Emerald Night though. Maybe with a bit of MOC/MOD stream lining and rebuilding the wheels they'll look better. Good on you for going down this path though, they're definitely a niche.
  5. Wow, this looks amazing. I like how you've expanded on the theme and made it your own, particularly including the media team and continuing the mix up the steam punk style of the monster hunters with the special forces type hunting teams. In the top left of your last photo, where the vampire and his 3 females are fighting the hunters; is that a nod to Bram Stoker's Dracula?
  6. The issue is how do you conceal the quite bulky cable from the B-unit to the cab?
  7. You would have to alter the pantograph and rebuild the interior too, if you want perfect symmetry. It looks fine how it is.
  8. It will never happen. Why revert to a system that was abandoned 2 generations of motor ago?
  9. That bridge Looks good, definitely cannot wait to lay hands on this set. 7938's getting relegated to suburban duties and this bad boy can do long range inter-city work.
  10. The only thing going for it is price. As has been mentioned, the quality and design is utterly inferior. I would be embarresed to have that run on the same rails as my Maersk... Then again, I am something of a purist
  11. They do indeed make white and brown cows, there are two in medieval market village, at least. It's a very expensive way to build a herd of cattle though :)
  12. Incredible. I can't put my admirattion for this into words. Can you please post more photos of the details of those houses from the first pic? How was it recieved ?
  13. This scene reminds me of the film Centurion. Nice job.
  14. Nice. Very nice. Nice SNOT and I like how you've built up the sea wall. How many medieval market villages went into this? :)
  15. I like it and I clicked 'support' on principle, as while I know there's not a huge possibility of getting individual rolling stock out there, it's another avenue to tell TLG that there's a demand for it, and I like your idea of a line of different cars. For me, I think ideally it would be just a little longer, I like the more realistic lengths Maersk wagons over the shorter ones from the Red and Yellow cargo trains. The dark red and white looks nice but it reminds me of the Star Wars theme....
  16. It's true, the last few trains Lego have produced have been amazing quality, and from the looks of this will only be getting better. dramatically.
  17. The tower looks amazing and I like the sand green SNOT water. I know this is WIP, I imagine your next move will be to build up the flat green baseplate areas to add detail and texture? The whole scene will be improved once you do.
  18. I think this is really cool. Lots of atmosphere but not too busy. What I love about it is that it allows the viewer to imagine their own story. Are they bandits sneaking back to thier hideout in the forest? Are they forestmen or hunters? Are they a group of scouts on their way to set an ambush or discover a hidden enemy fortress? As previously mentioned, the rear guard looking up at the shattered tower gives the same impression. Has he seen something? Is he simply wondering what happened to the people that once lived there?
  19. Looks amazing, really enjoy the streamlined yet still big and bold look of it. In particular the cheese slopes on the very front...a small thting that really looks fantastic and sets it apart.
  20. You could put one of the higher power PF motors in and gear it heavily for top end speed, however you'll still have the same limitations that every lego train does; at top speed it's not very stable and will fly off any sort of corner or misaligned flexi-track. Never going to happen. You will pay more for everything in Australia, I could point to worse examples.
  21. I was also quite surprised considering the Maersk was $199 in AUD, although I guess the containers and their truck pushed up the brick count. At this price it won't be too hard to part with the money for a second one, however I wonder how easy it will be to make another Jacobs bogie so that it actually looks like a 6 unit train and not very obviously 2 placed back to back. Either way, this looks amazing and Lego are clearly aware that the demand is there for complex, realistic models. TLG knows that the sort of person who is going to buy these trains will be perfectly capable of choosing their own method of motorisation, will most likely have their own track or layout, and therefore it comes at a very reasonable price.
  22. I really like the inverted R2 units, it's an original use for the part. I don't mind that its small, it captures the feel you were aiming for. I don't think a MOC has to be SNOT to be considered good.
  23. Thanks but 3 was more than enough to try and fit into an 8x8 base. The tower was fun to build although anymore levels would made it impossible to fit into the 4 photo limit.
  24. Corrected to comply with the rules of the competition.
