  1. Looks like some of the LEGO I have from the early- mid-1980s. I don't think they are fakes.
  2. Although I only recently got back in to LEGO collecting, I still have the catalogues and brochures and books I had in the early-to-late-1980s. It really takes me back looking through them again
  3. Nice find. I don't think there are any LEGO Stores here in Australia. I could be wrong, but I've never seen one
  4. Any chance of posting the link to the previous discussion? Would save me and maybe others searching for it. Cheers :)
  5. I'd forgotten about Fabuland. Thanks for the flashback
  6. Yeah, instead of all the prefab parts that don't inspire the same level of creativity.
  7. That's a very interesting article, and good reference information. I enjoyed reading it, thanks
  8. Maybe a result of LEGO outsourcing some its production? I really hope not...
  9. I still see quite a lot of that rip-off brand being sold here in Australia. Usually it's Chinese-run stalls in shopping malls and flea markets. And it wouldn't be any sort of loss to me if Mega Bloks went out of business. Just another fake-LEGO company
  10. The yellow figure was introduced in the 1983 sets, wasn't he?
  11. What was wrong with the Classic Space logo? Was it the positioning of it; halfway down the chest instead of nearer the neck? Looking at the Spacemen on my shelf, that seems to be the case. I agree about the themed sets. A five-pack of Space from 1978 to most recent would be great. (If you can't guess, I'm a Classic Space fan.) Cheers
  12. I have all the Classic Space LEGO I set out to collect; obtaining missing pieces and replacing broken ones from sets I've had since the early to mid 1980s. After that I felt more of less complete and satisfied with my LEGO collection. Sure, I'd like to have the Classic Castle sets and fix up the spotty collection of 1980s Town sets I also have, but it just doesn't seem as fun when I'm not playing with them like I used to as a child. They look nice all built and on display, but I enjoyed interacting with them and I, um, can't really do that as an adult My favourite LEGO was the 970 lighting set from 1978. I had many hours making all sorts of models and houses that used those wonderful lights. I only have a couple of original bulb bricks left, and not much wiring, but they bring back good memories. I always wanted the lighting from the train sets I saw in catalogues but never got them. My brother is always telling me to "Put that Space LEGO away!" I think he's embarrassed by it I miss my LEGO...
