Where can I find bayonets to buy?
the enigma that is badger replied to tchuk-norst's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes, I can confirm that the BrickArms Bayonet is now a production accessory and will be included in an upcoming update to the BrickArms line-up. Exactly when this will occur has yet to be determined. Dan Siskind of Brickmania does have a limited supply of the Brickarms Bayonets at Brickfair, so if you or someone you know is attending the convention, you can always ask them to pick up a few for you if you'd like them a bit earlier! -
Honestly intriguing! I, too, was sad to the last Pirates to go on hiatus so quickly, but while I'm not a fan of the POTC series at all, I wasn't interested in Prince of Persia one bit either and that didn't stop me from absolutely loving the PoP LEGO line. Given all we've seen thus far is this fig, it's hard to say anything about the line, but if it ends up including as many new, useful elements (particularly minifigs, accessories, and animals) that PoP did, the fact its a licensed line is moot. There is the pricing issue, but I'll be happy for new parts to use in Pirate MOCs and figs.

Will designed the Apoc SMG to be a bulky, heavy-duty SMG. If you're looking for something similar but more streamlined, the BrickArms Combat SMG is probably right up your alley! If by "fake names" you mean why aren't many of these accessories don't have the same name as real-life or fictional weaponry that may or may not have inspired them, while many of these items certainly have been inspired and influenced by existing pieces of weaponry, ultimately the designs of these BrickArms minifig accessories are 100% Will's designs. An incredible amount of effort and creativity goes into design of each BrickArms item with the abstraction and issues of detail and playability to consider, and giving BrickArms accessories their own specific names helps to illustrate this. Will is also highly respectful of the intellectual property of others and would never use a name that had already been copyrighted for the use of a similar product. Besides, coming up with the names of new BrickArms accessories is just too much fun!

I can't comment on the others, but as for a musket: Still in the very early prototype stages, but something Will is still developing! Nope, Will doesn't plan on removing any accessories from the BrickArms line-up! He really loves having brand new items available right along side the classics of BrickArms.

Will continues to make 2010 the biggest year for BrickArms yet with another wave of new BrickArms accessories: BrickArms Combat 2010! BrickArms Combat 2010 includes 8 great new accessories: Apoc SMG High Caliber Sniper Rifle (HCSR) Combat PDW AC8 Assault Carbine Longslide Automatic Sawed-Off Shotgun M203 Grenade Launcher Spy Carbine All these new items are currently available direct from BrickArms.com and all of the authorized BrickArms resellers worldwide. And if that's not enough, Will has even more great items in store, so look forward to future updates from BrickArms throughout 2010!

The above is correct . . . on both counts! Rest assured, when Will adds the Bayonet to the BrickArms line-up, you won't have to search too hard for it!

Mixed medieval/modern armies

Glad I could be of help! I have many, many more similar figs, but unfortunately, I've been too busy the past few months to take any pictures of them. Sorry! -

I'm a HUGE fan of mixing parts from various lines for some creative anachronism. Here's a few examples of how I've approached this concept: -
BrickArms 2010 WWII
the enigma that is badger replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nope, like you guessed, the StG44 included with the German Heer Soldier is simply the Vampir with the scope and lamp removed with a quick snip from from clippers! Don't worry, there's plenty to go around! -

BrickArms continues its tradition of top-notch WWII custom accessories with this latest wave for 2010! It's chock full of great accessories, but probably the biggest news is that Will has now entered the realm of headgear with the BrickArms M1 Pot and Stahlhelm helmets! Brand new additions to the BrickArms line-up: BrickArms 2010 WWII release! - M1 Pot Helmet - Stahlhelm Helmet - BAR - MG42 with Ammo Drum - M1 Carbine - StG44 Vampir - M1917 Revolver - P08 Luger - PPSh with Barrel Magazine - Medkit with production silver Scalpel and trans-clear Syringe And two new figs with custom printed torsos! No decals here folks; we're talking pad-printed designs right onto the torso! - US Rifle Squad Soldier - German Heer Soldier Here are some shots I took comparing the BrickArms M1 Pot Helmet to what is currently available from other sources: Look forward to even more great products from BrickArms throughout 2010!

General Redwater`s guide to bayonets.

Funny and informative! The "bayonetting-as-spectator-sport" had me chuckling for more than bit! A question to you and other Pirate fans out there: I noticed in these shots you positioned the bayonet such that it was mounted to the side of the musket rather than under the barrel. Was this type of placement more common than others in one or more eras? I've tried to do a bit of research but haven't found anything definitive. Thanks for any info you guys can provide! -
Yes, the GOW Lancer was one source of inspiration for Will in regards to that accessory. Actually, the story behind the Chainblade is pretty interesting: when Will was original developing the concept of a chainsaw bayoneted weapon, he posted this early prototype just to get feedback from the community: What surprised Will was that so many builders seemed to love that smooth blade, so Will ultimately developed the Heavy Scifi Rifle, Glaive, and Chainblade accessories such that builders could mix-and-match any number of accessories together to create their one unique weapons! Yes, Will did specifically choose the date of April 2 to release this pack just to ensure that didn't happen. With how much interest has been expressed in some of those accessories, Will didn't want anyone to think he'd joke around about releasing them to builders eager to add them to their collections!

Brand new for 2010 and including 11 great new accessories, BrickArms is proud to announce the BrickArms 2010 Scifi Pack! This pack include the following BrickArms accessories in Silver: • HCSR (High Caliber Sniper Rifle) • Apoc SMG • Plasma Blade • MK2 Frag Grenade (x2) • Chainblade • Energy Pistol • Photon Pistol • Needle Weapon • AC8 • Gunblade Retail Price: $12 All the accessories in the BrickArms 2010 Scifi Pack are 100% production items and up to the high standards builders expect from BrickArms: crisp details, finely-edged blades, and perfect grip points! Will does plan to eventually offer all these accessories as individual items in a variety of colors, but while those plans are still in development, Will is proud to offer this pack as a great way for builders to sample just a few of all the great accessories BrickArms has in store for 2010!

REVIEW: 8683 Minifig series 1 -
the enigma that is badger replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the great review on what is hands down my most anticipated Collector Fig! All the shots are great, and clearly show just how fun this fig is going to be. Nice work, and again, thanks! -
Will no longer offers international shipping, but if you're located in Canada and looking to purchase BrickArms accessories (including this pack), Will's official reseller in Canda, Brick Republic, is more than happy to take your order! Here's a direct link to the BrickArms Army Men Pack on Brick Republic Hope that's helpful to you!
-
Glad you like the pack so much! It's been something Will knew had to be done from the moment he say the first images of the Army Men set, and as a huge fan of the LEGO army men figs myself, I truly love just how much fun this pack really is. When Will sent me the first samples of BrickArms accessories in that new green color, I spent hours playing . . . I mean testing them with my army men, occupying strategic positions along my mantel and couch

If your green army men figs are looking to increase their firepower, BrickArms is proud to announce the new BrickArms Army Men Pack! This pack includes over 25 accessories in 100% color-matched green, including several brand new BrickArms accessories (which are no longer just prototypes but mass produced accessories! ): - BAR - M1 Carbine - Sawed-off Shotgun - M203 Grenade Launcher - M1917 Revolver All of those accessories will eventually be available as individual items in a variety of colors, but all of the accessories in this pack will only be available in green as part of the Army Men Pack. I'm wondering about soldier helmets...
the enigma that is badger replied to bub166's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
While Will has traditionally focused on weapons accessories due to the complexity and costs of molds needed to create headgear, if you're willing to be just a bit more patient, I think you'll be VERY happy with what Will has planned for 2010 All I can say for now! EDIT: Ah, I didn't see this was an older thread before I replied. I don't like to contribute to necroposting, but bub, if you're still around, hopefully you'll find what I posted above good news. -
Well, I'm far from an expert in SWAT weapons and tactics, but using this as a reference, it definitely seems like this pack would be a great start to outfit a SWAT minifig team! You also might find these BrickArms accessories useful: - M4 Carbine - M67 Frag Grenade - M23 Pistol - Tactical M47 Shotgun - M84 Stun Grenade - Ammo Clip - Combat Shotgun Hope that helps!

The "rocket" in the Rocket Commando name refers to the rocket pack that's included with the fig! It connects to the fig via a light grey neck bracket As I said, for the time being, the Retro Raygun is only available with this figure. Will certainly could decide to mass produce this accessory in a variety of colors, but as of now, if you'd like to pick up the Retro Raygun, a Rocket Commando is your only option. Then again, you'll also get an exclusive Heavy Blaster Pistol and Bayonet!
