  1. As I said before, producing electroplated chrome items is very expensive, but should there prove to be a strong demand for them, Will may be able to make them more available, particularly via all the BrickArms resellers worldwide. Ultimately, we'll have to see. Will's really busy with even more great BrickArms projects, but I'll certainly pass on your enthusiasm for the chrome packs to him!
  2. Very nice work! I'm a huge fan of Blade Runner, and you really captured the characters here. Gaff is a particularly nice surprise as he's one of my favorite characters from the film, but not usually the focus of folks' custom work. Hopefully we'll see some more figs on the same theme soon. I'd love to see a few of the replicants or maybe Chew!
  3. That's certainly another attachment that could be designed for it! The TLG chainsaw works to an extent, but it's a bit too large for my tastes. Funny, that's not the tone you take when you constantly message me asking about getting prototypes! But really, obviously not everything Will cooks up is going to appeal to everyone. I'm sorry if nothing above excites you as much, but then Will does pride himself on offering a wide variety of accessories. Maybe something down the road will catch your attention more!
  4. Thanks for the comments all! The BrickArms HSR is the "Buzzgun V2.0" basically. Will got a tremendous amount of feedback from fans about the Buzzgun, and most seemed to love the idea of a weapon that let them pick if they wanted a smooth-bladed bayonet or some other type of attachment. The result: the HSR! Advantages of the HSR compared to the original Buzzgun: - Much better proportioned to the fig. The Buzzgun was neat, but gigantic! - Grippable forestock allows the addition of any number of neat attachments. - Also looks great just as-is! Glad you appreciate it! Really, that's the whole purpose of international resellers - faster and cheaper shipping so you can enjoy your BrickArms sooner and with a local contact! All BA resellers get their stock directly from Will, so you are still ordering from Will . . . from a certain point of view (in keep with the nature of a few of the above prototypes!) Hard to say. Given electroplating chrome is very expensive (but the highest quality chroming process available. . . believe me, you can tell the difference!), Will only made a limited batch. As of now, the only place to get them in Toywiz, but should chrome prove popular, there is a chance those packs will be made available via other resellers. Nothing definite at this point, however. Nope, not at all! They glow brightly enough that even with regular macrophotography, they show up quite nicely in the darkness! Still, playing around with your camera settings can really make them *pop* in a picture.
  5. Just an update that Will debuted a bunch of great new prototypes at Brickworld last weekend: AC8 M203 Heavy Scifi Rifle Heavy Blaster Pistol Blaster Rifle Tactical Sword Retro Raygun Longslide Pistol More pics and info can be found here Also cool new things from BrickArms at Brickworld: electroplated chrome, trans-green, and glow-in-the-dark items! The Chrome Packs are currently available from Toywiz, an official BrickArms reseller. Chrome Blade Pack Chrome Demolition Pack Chrome Modern Pack Chrome Scifi Pack Another update from BrickArms I think Aussie and Kiwi fans of BA will particularly love to hear: BrickArms is pleased to announce a new authorized reseller MinifigWorld Also neat: when BrickArms comes back online, Will is going to add the MinifigWorld minfig stand to the BrickArms line-up! I picked up a few at Brickworld, and they're great for display! Look for even more new and exciting things from BrickArms in the coming months!
  6. Just wanted to thank everyone who picked up one of these last weekend. I was completely floored by the demand; I was down to only a handful by Saturday morning, and those were gone within the first two hours of the day. I know a few went to EB members, and I hope you guys enjoyed them! They took Will and myself a bunch of work to get ready, and we're both really proud with how they turned out. Another huge thanks!
  7. Glad you liked the BrickArms items! The Pirates look great, and the watergun Gal is excellent as well. I'm really a huge fan of the new trans-stuff Will is currently developing, especially for waterguns and spacey-type items. The new Retro Raygun in trans colors is particularly sweet. Thanks for coming by to say howdy to Will and I!
  8. Ah nuts. Looks like I got my sig fig to you too late for this shot! I scanned around, but I don't see my bespectacled visage anywhere. No worries though! This was a ton of work, and you pulled if off in style, Stash. Thanks a ton!
  9. Thanks for the kind words, folks! Unfortunately, I cannot attend BrickCon this year due to my schedule. Chances are, once the first batch I made are gone, that will be it! Slightly hard to say as producing larger items via injection molding, like the Minigun, is much, much trickier than smaller ones. However, Will is quite happy with how the Minigun design continues to evolve and does have some ideas to ease any production issues. I'll keep you folks up to date as best I can! Thanks! I'm really a huge fan of the first Terminator film for its gritty, rough feel, and I really wanted to capture the spirit of the character along with all the details that make him recognizable with this fig. Admittedly, the minigun doesn't show up until T2: Judgment Day (too glossy for my tastes, but still enjoyable), but I figured folks wouldn't mind too much! By the way, you're all way off when it comes to the secret item. It's a minifig-scale budget for the state of California straight from the Governator. . . because lord knows minifig-scale is all they could afford right now!
  10. The last few months, I've been working with Will to develop a custom fig to sell at Brickworld to help cover my costs of the event as well as offer something fans of custom accessories would enjoy. I present the Cyborg Infiltrator custom minifig! Includes: - Cyborg Infiltrator minifig - Numbered collectible card - Black Minigun prototype - Black Minigun Handle (new!) - Black Monopod - 3 Gold Buildable Ammo Chain links - 3 Black U-Clips - Black M47 Shotgun - Brand New, As-Yet-Unrevealed BrickArms Accessory! Cost: $25 Some other info: - The fig will be sold at the BrickArms booth, although it is my project. - This figure is the only way you'll be able to obtain the BrickArms Minigun at Brickworld. - The secret new item is in the above picture. If you squint a bit, you might be able to figure out what it is! - I've only made 50 of these figs, and that's all there will ever be. Be sure to come by the BrickArms booth early to pick one up, because once they're gone, they're gone for good! - "Black Lodge Customs" is the brand name I came up with to market the fig under. Points to whoever gets the joke! Hope you guys like him! It took a lot of work to put him together, especially the BrickArms Minigun as producing each one took a considerable amount of time and effort on Will's part, but I'm really happy for how he turned out.
  11. Heh, looks great guys! Can't wait to see this one in it's full glory in a few days!
  12. Considering I've got Flood loaded on my IPod, I more than approve! Great build and nice use of a new element. One interesting thing, though: it's been illegal to wear a fez in Istanbul since 1925. When I visited a few years back, not a fez was to be seen. Highlight of trip: humming TMBG while walking from the Blue Mosque to the Hagia Sophia! EDIT: Upon reflection, the true highlight of the trip was my rest in S
  13. Less than two weeks to go! I'm close to getting all my figs together, and I still want to build at least one or two more MOCs. Nothing much, but always fun to build with a deadline!
  14. Note I said that was an exceptionally broad generalization. No doubt some kids would love a line with a classic flavor. That said, LEGO encourages self-guided creative play. More directly historically-influenced sets that aren't based on something children would come in contact with via other media (Pirates, for instance, and even that line doesn't do nearly as well as Power Miners) might come off as an attempt at education (read: school) rather than letting their own play and interests guide the line. That's why I love the idea of a more broadly-based "Classics" line rather than one that's specifically Roman or Greek. Kids clearly love Castle, and a line that has one foot in a historical-influence and the other in the middle of a fantasy landscape with monsters and the like seems right up the core demographic's alley.
  15. Take a look at the above pictures! It's the BrickArms Bayonet, which can be attached to any minifig-grippable surface via the BrickArms U-Clip! The base of the Bayonet can also fit into the standard LEGO port that fits anything minifig-grippable.
  16. Completely agreed. Mix-and-match elements from a variety of classical sources, and you've got an amazing line-up. Roman-influenced human faction vs barbarians and Greek-inspired monsters. I'd be curious to know given how often a "classics" line comes up if LEGO hasn't ever done any demographic testing on it. Sure, it'd probably grab us older folk, but then again most of the younger set that's TLG's primary audience tends to run screaming from anything that seems educational. A gross over-generalization, sure, but then there's a reason why stuff like Power Miners and Bionicle is so popular!
  17. That does look fantastic, but like others have said, there's a stack of great character designs from LEGO games that either haven't been produced or are of lines that are unlikely to be revived. True, some have been made (particularly from the Star Wars games), but where there's game-related imagery wisps of smoke, there's not necessarily fire.
  18. I've seen a few minutes of the show when flipping through the channels (until I see the [adult swim] bump, I tend to avoid CN), and it's definitely right up the alley for the demographic TLC aims for: relatively nonviolent action, aliens, a youthful protagonist. That simultaneously intrigues and frightens me. On one hand, LEGO has been doing some amazing things with new types of products lately (the larger trolls, Power Miner rock monsters, Castle dragons, City cows, etc.), but on the other, the specter of Galidor looms large over any non-System line. Of course, I also thought Bionicle was vaguely ridiculous when that first started, and that's turned into a incredible success for TLC. I'll be excited to see what LEGO has up their sleeve with this one! Here's to hoping it appeals to both the core audience and us AFOL fogies
  19. I've never picked up a classic fig set yet given I was only interested in one or maybe two of the figs, but with three figs I'd love to have more of in my collection (Blue Falcon, Blue Coat, and Cavalry), this might be a must-buy for me!
  20. (Fashionably) late the party, but I'll have my fig there to join in the photo! Just swing by, Adam, and I'll hand him off to you!
  21. I certainly agree that minifig compatible muskets and flintlock pistols would be great to have on the market!
  22. Glad you like the U-Clip and Damien Blades! The Damien Blade is a fantastic work, and the U-Clip really is a handy little piece. Will actually has some neat plans about other accessories that could use it! As for the Damien Blade, I'd agree that the blade unmodified is a perhaps a bit too long relative to the rifle, but it is a neat, savage look having such a long blade at the end of a weapon. I do agree that trimming the hand guard off the other end would probably make the piece look a bit polished. Of course, if you're willing to wait a little bit, BrickArms does have a new item in the pipeline I think you'll enjoy! The prototype version (as seen above) was a bit thinner, but to ensure a solid connection and a sturdy piece, Will made it a bit thicker for the production version. It real life, it's really not that thick (about the same width as a minifig hand), but macrophotography tends to make it appear larger than it really is.
  23. Interesting work! The historical helmets are certainly something folks haven't seen before, and they're great for any number of Napoleonic-flavored figs Just to be clear, BrickArms will be producing the BrickArms version of the Brodie Helmet. I realize it's been a bit of time since Will first unveiled the prototype for that accessory, but headgear is even more expensive and costly to produce than regular weapons, not to mention a new direction of design for Will. It's still probably a bit of time off due to other projects Will is currently pursuing but especially with the the loss of the M1 Helmet provider, Will does plan to produce several of his own helmets in the future and in a variety of colors. That said, if you want to add a Brodie helmet to your collection now, I think woody has done some great work here and those items would be a great way to equip your Tommies today.
  24. "Fascinating" Very nice work! I like how you've gotten the section insignia correct for the TOS-era. The Mark of Death!
