  1. Thanks for confirming the print codes — that lines up with what I’m seeing too. To clarify my own situation a bit: I have both instruction booklets and both models built, but only one original retail box, and it’s the one for 4195881 — the revised version with the different sub-build at step 16. I don’t have the original box for my 4177481 copy, so I can’t compare the packaging between the two the way I’d hoped. That does raise the same question I was wondering about, though, just from the other direction: on the 4195881 box I do have, is there anything on it — a date code, a small print variation, anything — that distinguishes it as the “revised” run? If your 4177481 copy also still has its original box, it’d be really useful to compare the two side by side to see if the packaging was ever updated alongside the instructions, or if it’s purely an internal change that’s invisible from the outside. Also, the color-calibration mismatch I mentioned on pages 22–23 is specifically on my 4195881 (revised) copy — the rest of that booklet looks like a consistent print run, but that one spread stands out. Combined with your point about the Bricklink Alternate Items and service pack note, it’s starting to look like the revision might have been rolled out in stages rather than as one clean second edition — but that’s still just a hypothesis on my end. Still hunting down that Reddit thread and video, will update if it clears anything up.
  2. Hi all, I recently came into possession of two complete 7153 Jango Fett's Slave I sets, both with original boxes and instruction manuals. While comparing them, I noticed something unexpected: the instruction booklets have different print codes (4195881 vs. 4177481), and more interestingly, step 16 (pages 22–23) shows a genuinely different sub-build in each manual — not just a color/print difference, but an actual structural variation in how a section above the cockpit area is assembled. Additionally, in one of the booklets, the spread containing pages 22–23 clearly has a different print color calibration than the rest of the manual — the tone/saturation is visibly off compared to the surrounding pages, which strongly suggests this specific spread was reprinted/replaced separately rather than being from the same original print run as the rest of the booklet. I came across an old thread here mentioning a possible service pack issued for this set due to a design/stability revision during its production run (2002–2003), but couldn't find much more detail beyond that. A few questions for the community: Has anyone else documented or photographed this specific instruction variant? Does anyone know which print code (4195881 or 4177481) corresponds to the original vs. the revised instructions? Is there a known list of parts that differ between the two versions — I'd like to confirm my sets are complete for each variant. Does the mismatched print calibration on that one spread suggest a targeted reprint of just that page (e.g., a service correction), rather than an entirely separate manual edition? Does having both variants add any meaningful collector value, or is this mostly a curiosity? I can post photos of both instruction pages side by side, including close-ups of the color mismatch, if that's helpful. Would love to get this properly documented if it hasn't been already — seems like this could be useful reference material for other 7153 owners.
