  1. Hi all, I'm looking for designers who enjoy constrained-parts building, for ongoing paid work. Being upfront: this is a commercial project. I'm building a platform for children that gives them step-by-step instructions to build something new out of a set they already own, so the constraint is the whole point. The work Alternate builds. One donor set, no extra parts. I nominate the set — mostly Creator 3-in-1, Classic, Botanicals and City, in the 250–650 piece range — and you design something new from it. It's a puzzle rather than a blank canvas, which some designers find more interesting than free building and some find maddening. Worth knowing which you are before replying. What I need • 200 pieces or more, built from the donor set alone. • A generic subject. An animal, a vehicle, an object, a building — a real, ordinary thing. Animals are what I'm shortest of. • A genuine departure from the donor model. A panda from the panda set isn't it; a sports car from a sports car set isn't either. • Sturdy. These get built with real bricks by real children and picked up. Nothing that needs careful positioning, no fragile sub-assemblies. • Stud.io .io file with the build broken into steps, plus a parts list. I don't need you to render a PDF — I produce my own instructions from the file. What I can't use • Anything recognisable from a film, game or comic. Named craft, characters, franchise mechs. Renaming doesn't fix it — the silhouette is the trademark, and a designer can't grant me someone else's rights. • Identifiable real car models. • Minifigures, printed parts or stickers as part of the build. The licensed set itself is fine as a parts bank. It's the finished model that has to be generic. Terms Two ways in, and you can pick per build: Licensing something you've already made — if you have alternate builds that fit, I'll licence them non-exclusively. $0.06 USD per piece, $30 minimum. Perpetual and non-exclusive: you keep the design, keep publishing it, keep selling it wherever you already do. I'm buying permission to rebuild it in my own step format, not the file itself, and I don't re-host your instructions. If your instructions are free and you'd rather have credit than money, I'll credit you on the build with a link to your profile instead. Commissioned work — $0.24 USD per piece, half up front, half on delivery. That one is exclusive, with a portfolio exception once it's published. Payment by PayPal or Wise. Everything goes through a written licence or contract before anything is built or used — no handshake arrangements. If that sounds like your kind of thing, message me here and I'll send the detail: the set, the piece bank, and what the build has to hit. Happy to answer questions in the thread. Omar
