I'm hoping someone can help me identify these Anakin Skywalker heads.
I recently bought two used LEGO Star Wars sets:
75021 Republic Gunship
75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter
Each set included an Anakin Skywalker minifigure. Since both sets were purchased second-hand, I'm fully aware that parts may have been swapped over the years.
While comparing them, I noticed that the heads are different.
Both heads appear to be genuine LEGO to me, because:
LEGO logo inside the head.
Head mold 3626.
Excellent print quality.
Different internal mold markings (22-41 and 25-51).
However, the facial decorations are not identical.
Head #1 (first photo)
Neutral expression on the front.
Angry expression on the back.
Internal marking: 3626 / LEGO / 22-41
Head #2 (second photo)
Neutral expression on the front.
Relaxed smiling expression on the back.
Internal marking: 3626 / LEGO / 25-51
I've attached two comparison photos showing the front and back expressions, together with the internal mold markings for each head.
My questions are:
Do both of these appear to be official LEGO head prints?
Does either head belong to a different Anakin Skywalker minifigure?
Has anyone come across this before, or could this be an undocumented production/print variation?
My goal isn't to prove that one is "wrong", but simply to identify exactly which official head print each one is, if they are indeed different.
