  1. Hi everyone, My name is Max and I’m a documentary filmmaker working on a small project involving kids and LEGO. The setup is simple: take 3 kids from different backgrounds and give them the same pile of bricks and a minifig representing themselves, then ask them to build whatever they want. The goal is to see what each kid decides to build given the same pieces, their process in doing so, and where they place themselves (in minifig form) in the "world" they create. I’m trying to design a consistent inventory of around 200–250 pieces (but I'm open to other #'s you think are reasonable given ages are 6-10 year olds). The goal is to support a wide range of possible builds (structures, vehicles, abstract forms, environments, etc.) without strongly pointing toward any one outcome. If you’ve done any work around inventory design or MOCs and have thoughts on what makes a neutral but expressive parts selection, I’d really appreciate your input! Feel free to email me at: max@quickdraw-films.com and we can have a chat. Thanks a lot! Max
