  1. [Ideas] Japanese Stepping Stones – LEGO Ideas Project (1163 supporters) Hello everyone, I’d like to share my latest LEGO creation: Japanese Stepping Stones, a peaceful display model inspired by traditional Japanese garden design. The idea behind this build comes from the simple but beautiful garden paths found in Japan, where stepping stones are carefully placed across sand, moss, or shallow water. These paths are not just functional, but are designed to create a sense of calm, rhythm, and reflection while walking through the garden. With this model, I wanted to capture that same feeling in a compact LEGO display build. The layout focuses on: Natural flow and spacing between the stones A minimal, zen-like composition A balance between simplicity and detail A calm atmosphere suitable for display on a desk or shelf Even though the build is small, I spent a lot of time adjusting the positioning and spacing of the stones to make it feel organic rather than symmetrical. This project is also submitted on LEGO Ideas, and it has already reached 1163 supporters, which I’m really grateful for. Thank you to everyone who has supported it so far! If you’d like to support the project or take a closer look, you can find it here: 👉 https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/fac93953-05e0-49b3-b979-f82b6c25eea7 The idea behind this build comes from the calm and reflective atmosphere of Japanese zen gardens, including sets like the LEGO Botanical Collection Bonsai Tree and the recent Tranquil Garden. I’ve always loved how these sets focus not just on the build itself, but on creating a sense of balance, nature, and serenity in a (small) display. I’d really appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or thoughts on the design. Do you think the layout captures the feeling of a Japanese garden path? Thanks for looking!
  2. Japanese Stepping Stones (Minifigure Display/Duel) - by Mike I have also submitted this project to LEGO Ideas, where it is currently gathering support. If you would like to see this model have a chance of becoming an official LEGO set, I would greatly appreciate your support on the LEGO Ideas website. (Its already on 1000 supporters! Thank you!) You can support the project here: https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/fac93953-05e0-49b3-b979-f82b6c25eea7 Every supporter helps bring the project one step closer to the next milestone. Thank you! My first MOC, designed as a display base for a minifigure (such as a ninja). The scene depicts a tranquil Japanese-inspired garden featuring a pond, stepping stones, water lilies, and a blossoming cherry tree. While it works perfectly as a character display, it can also be used to pose two minifigures in a Japanese-style duel, making it ideal for dynamic sword-fighting scenes with katanas. The design is inspired by the Botanical Collection sets 10281 Bonsai Tree and 10315 Tranquil Garden, and follows a similar presentation style with a black-framed base that showcases the model as a small diorama. Designed to complement both 10281 Bonsai Tree and 10315 Tranquil Garden, this display can be placed alongside the official sets to create a cohesive Japanese-inspired collection. Together, the three models make for a peaceful and eye-catching display on a shelf or desk. As this is my first MOC, I wanted to create a compact and atmospheric setting that would complement a minifigure without drawing attention away from the character itself. All feedback is welcome! Note: Due to a Studio rendering oversight, the five rubber bands around the support pillars are missing from the images. They are intended to be included in the final build.
