Thanks a lot for the kind words — and especially for catching the studs on the clay. That detail took a while to land, so it's great that someone noticed.
Fence 3185 actually crossed my mind early on, and it's a clever pick. I ended up going a different route for three reasons:
The white band on top. Real tennis nets have that iconic white tape along the upper edge. With 3185 I'd either lose it or have to stack a tile on top, which would push the height past scale.
See-through from both sides. The diorama is meant to be viewed from any angle, and I didn't want a visual wall between the two players.
That said, you're right that the current net has more visual mass than it should. I'm planning a revision pass before the final Rebrickable update, and a hybrid using 3185 in dark stone grey as the structural frame could be a great direction if I can keep the mesh texture on top of it.
