LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2026 - READ FIRST POST!!!

A round number of days now! (#275=5^2*11) Well, one more year from an eternity is hardly a difference, but at least you only have 2 more days until you get your Cad Bane figure! I agree about the Nightbrother, tough I am just glad to get a Gauntlet in a new colour scheme. That being said, 45 USD ain't much, and I am concerned about it shrinking by too much... Hopefully there's a wave of regular sets somehow hidden away by someone at TLG... -

Impossible, since we know they are working on the Tie avenger (day #272 @CloneCommando99 ) I think this is a case of a wave not leaking despite the fact that it normally does. Then again it is January, if we see nothing by March, we can start worrying, otherwise it merely means they have gotten lucky with this wave not leaking. Secret plans you say? Only one way to find out : we send a team of Bothans to infiltrate the Lego HQ and see what is going on! -

How do non-cavemen do it, maybe the mods know of a better way? I also think that it isn't worth it, for instance I usually buy only at 20-30% off, I am just saying that Lego likely did their market research well. I suppose it could be a little smaller, and arguably if they are smaller I could have a small fleet of them... Let's hope you are wrong... -

I think people underestimate demand here, I keep hearing complaints over the price of stuff, but also I keep seeing people buy at full price and getting thousands of upvotes or likes for posting pictures of them buying a bunch of sets at retail. Most people buy only 1 copy of each set, and for specific occasions (reward to themselves or gifts to others), so the price can afford to be a fair bit higher than what you or I would pay. Adjusted for inflation, the 25$ set is now 34$ in the US, I don't see how it could be halved in size or content and still be good, but I might be wrong. I do hope we get a new endor rebel trooper battle pack. Ideally against scout troopers (and only scout troopers, I do not like the new stormtroopers much). -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Napoleon3 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd love to get that set, but the price point is unlikely, the original retailed for 110 USD, I assume you mean just the briefing room, if so that'd be quite good. day #3*89 if I am not mistaken. Ah, so that's what @Mandalorianknight meant by 9849 (which refers to an 9V micromotor), I guess that'll teach me to read from the end... -
BL orders definitively count, a good trick for the 327th (if you're in Canada) is to find a few of the stores selling retail surplus, they usually have it at 40 CAD, taxes and shipping included, so that's approximately 30% off from retail (50+ 7.5 of taxes), at that price I have got 10. You remind me I have 30 torsos, legs and hats for those hoth troops, but I have yet to buy any heads for them.

Lego Smart Brick General Discussion/Concerns Topic

Agreed, there are two reasons why you make a product : to make a profit and/or to solve a problem (when someone asks "wouldn't it be useful if..."). Turns out that focusing on the second almost always leads to the first, but nowadays people try to focus on the first and overhype everything to sell it, it works at first, but customers wisen up, so after a bit gimmicks stop selling, but for some odd reason businesses still haven't figured out why. The idea you suggest is actually really cool, especially since that saves a lot of time, then again I am the type who sorts every part and then builds, so it wouldn't serve me much, but it is still very cool as a concept and has its uses outside of sets (e.g. if you are digging in a pile of bricks to make a MOC). If only AI was focused on that instead of making sloppy content. -
Last I checked CC Boba was selling for 1500-2000$ a piece. I think these are all examples of goods people will pay more for simply because they are rare.

My main worry is that they will see the underperforming smart sets as a sign that kids are not into Star Wars, so they will decide to do even more adult sets. I would be happy with some sort of a villain ; Grievous, Dooku, etc... I still haven't got either of those two characters, so getting as desirable character in a cheap-ish set would be nice (like with Obi-Wan's starfighter and Lama Su). Then again, at least we got a Grievous fig a few years back, I was basically a wee lad when they last made Dooku! (ok, not that small, maybe 20 or so, but still...) -

Thanks, long-time lurker but this is my first time posting. New colours and figs are fine, but we demand a new tie Avenger, too! I think people forget that despite its flaws, the current SW range is at least full of cool character designs, so that's a point in its favour. That being said, we could use a new Dooku and a bunch of Jedi are starting to age a little, so if Lego could remake those figs ASAP, that'd be lovely. -

Lego Smart Brick General Discussion/Concerns Topic

I understand, but most sets when parted out don't cost twice as much as when sold complete, in fact they usually sell for about 20-50% more, which also includes higher costs for storage and time sorting, and yes most sellers don't earn a big profit, as A) they do it as a hobby and B) as you yourself said, most parts can't be sold for much. There are too many variables here, let's see in a few months when the sets release, I am willing to bet that smart bricks will sell for 20 USD or less within 3 months of their release, what do you say? Winner has bragging rights... -

I'll try to add a picture to my profile, just give a day or so... Stop giving them bad ideas! They sometimes listen to those! -
True, more demand for fleshies means less demand for yellow-heads means more yellow blood for the blood god!

If I look at the X-wing, it is about 600 pieces for 100 USD, it comes with 2 smart figs and one smart brick. If I remove all the stupid bricks (550 parts or so, so about 55$) and the regular minifigures(3 of them, so 15$) , and assume that Bricklink will sell those at their usual rate, That leaves around 30 USD (plus a profit) for the smart pieces, Lego resale is a very competitive market, so let's say 10 USD of profits, so 40 bucks for 2 figs and a brick, likely can get them each for about 15$ a piece, add or take a little depending on demand. -
It is unfortunate because I do not like fleshies. Agreed about leg prints that are tailored to certain torsos, though they do look nice when they are done well.
