Yes, stealing is wrong. Very very wrong. However, this Lego UPC swapping happens mostly in the US, where Lego is at its cheapest. This creates a very tempting scenario for their eBay sellers to sell items retail price (or more) to customers outside the country. Should we blame TLG for their uneven pricing schemes around the world for this behavior?

Speaking from someone who has spent hundreds of dollars on convention exclusives, I don't think its a problem in other toy lines. Take the Transformers ones from Botcon. The reason why I would spend as such for the items is the promise from FunPub, the convention organizer, and Hasbro, that these items will never be wide-released. Of course, FunPub does it better than TLG right now as they have a way for those who cannot attend the convention to purchase it online.

I am happy Lego is releasing CMs that are easy to feel within the pack.

Saw one with a Buy-It-Now of almost 80 US dollars. I'd rather wait for the formal announcement of the Hobbit sets to see if the Bilbo minifig is unique in design or will be the same as one released in the future.

Why would Lego show new sets they haven't even announced yet? Unless of course it was an accident like the Town Hall video with the R2-D2 and Haunted House. Who knows? Maybe they will display the new sets after the panels.

I agree with this. The only time I saw R2-D2 was during the Wednesday night before the sale. I came back the weekend later and Target posted a sign saying they sold out.
