Few more updates.

Some more updates. Working on the bow now. Mostly a mock up and likely changing the figurehead. Anchor works well and will rest on the typical horns when i finish the bow quarter deck. Open to suggestions.
-
So I reworked the bow a bit for some anchor holes per a recomendation! It def adds more charachter. The color scheme will be the yellow slopes continuing to the cut water as seen on the viewing left side. I likely plan on putting two brigs on either side of the bow walls with the chains for the anchors either coming out the holes to the center of the lower gun deck. I appreciate all the postive feedback and suggestions! Please give any more critisism as I very much appreciate it! Here are a few pics

A few more pictures. Will likely be doing the bow decking tonight.
-
I did some more work on the bow and put it in place to see the effect. Looks good in my opinion and I still have yet to add the details. More to follow soon.

Since I'm awaiting more bricks from the link, I'm going to do a tear down to the lower floor of the upper gun deck. Will be lowering the quarter deck down a brick so as the side become part of the the quarter decking sides. Also will rework the supports on the upper gundeck to be a bit more spread out. Should be a fun night. I think I might also lose the grated ports in favor of a large opening with studs across, similar to "big boys" victory design. I mainly decieded to do this as the poop deck would have been too high at the current height. --- Finished the restructuring, Looks much better in my opinion! here are some pics

I agree with all about the two wide breakwater. It will be changed soon. I was basing it off the Victory at first with 2 decks in favor of the three. But it is mostly just a free build at this moment. When finished I will likely tear it appart and rebuild with some other good suggestions made. Likely with a sloop and with thinner support on the inner decks for more accuarcy. The stern will be trick and will likely have a gradual taper towards the end. Right now I'm trying to search for good windows for the stern. Unfortunately I cannot find a lattice window pane in yellow!
-
I agree with the deck support being too big but with side panels being removable I wanted extra rigidity. The main section is amazingly solid. I started playing around with several bow mock ups and I believe something to this effect is what I will ultimately use. I have no yellow slopes as of yet so the brown will eventually be yellow.

Th masts shown are indeed the fore and main with the mizzen to be right at the front of the stern section. I agree on the removal of the bottom yards for accuracy but I plan to not do a rope rigging just yet and using paper or cloth sails. I think after I get her mostly done I will enjoy it for a year or two then tear it down and rebuild with more detail and actual rigging. I have since added a bit of length to the yards however
-
After I built the mid section I too realized the height may be a concern. So I'm likely to do exactly what you mentioned by lengthening her. Mostly making the stern longer with a taper the whole stern length. Likely a plate width every three our four bricks.
-
The entire side sections are going to be removable with studs only at the top and bottom. So a nice tug at a few cannon ports will reveal the crew in her belly. Both bow and stern will be pin locked as seen in the photos (i have yet to place the fe pins that will be in the technic brick at both ends.) The real challenge will be mamimg the bow and stern curves! Glad everyone enjoys her! Still without a name however

Did alot more work today but I left the heavy detail inside wanting. I will likely just get here mostly together on the exterior then tear down and rebuild with detail. And most importantly I just wanted to build what I could with the bricks I had available! Enjoy!

The (pinlock) bow will likely be very short as the foremost mast will be at the end of the mid section build. The (pinlock) stern will likely be fairly big roughly half the size (guessing) as the midsection. The third mast will be at the very front of the stern section. I would imagine the full hull to be a bit shy of a meter and about a full meter with the bow sprit.

Here are some more updates. More bricks on the way and I really like the "24" wide body. Ran out of a few colors but wanted to play around with my "22" headlight assembly to get the right stud height for attaching the top of the side panels.
-
24 wide and more brick link on the way for a mid section build looks better bigger but this is going to be massive!
-
I plan on making the cross secton for now. But will ultimately build the bow and stern and use the pin connectors for seperation.
-
I suppose 24 it is!! This will be more bricks unfortunately but it will allow endless more detail within the ship when I get to that stage. I havent really thought about making the distance between gun ports wider I guess five would be ideal based on one of my photos of vicorty below. The only problem I see there would be plate configuration on the siding and with five and I would get an offset checker. With six between I feel it would look too spread out. I guess the more cannons the merrier so I will likely just keep it at four. Might have to experiment with six just to see how it looks.
-
I agree on the widening as of now the base plate width is (20) pegs. I would like 22 but that number makes flooring the decks quite painful. 24 would be optimal for plate variation but I fear it may be too wide. I will have to play around with it. As far as the hieghtening the gun ports at the left and right, this would be something I would like to do. I may leave the mid section as is however and make the stern and bow have two or three ports which rise very very slightly. perhaps a plate width on each. I guess experimentation will be key.

The legos finally came after having to wait for the no post Columbus day to pass. As I figured I forgot to order a few bricks and have since ordered them on brick lik with a hopeful arival of Friday. But with many pieces in hand I decieded to start to experiment with the siding! From the good suggestions made I decieded to fully stager the cannon ports. The photos do not do it justice as the lighting was not optimal and the camera I used was my motorola droid.

Good to go! Bricks are on their way! Will post the pile!
-
I think the thin issue is an issue too. The build will likely be redone 2 bricks wider and then full checker also.
-
Just ordered about 3500 bricks off of bricklink! poof goes $400ish Props to the fella who made the wanted brick program! def helped out in a big way. unfortunately there are going to have to be a few mondifications on the larger plates I used as I soon realized that 8X16 plates only come in green lol

Have to add this pic due to the way it looks much better with the cross masts!! I never thought this could prove to be so addicting!

This MOC is one of the big inspirations for me trying to actually build one too!! Very impressed with the detail!
