  1. I hope this will mean they will be getting more reimaginings of Lego space ships. I just find it strange that we haven't got any so far this year. I was hoping that we were going to get a Blacktron ship this year, but instead we're getting this rapper's ship instead.
  2. I guess in my case this was a Mandela effect. I asked this person on Facebook, and I think it was an educated guess. I will say that there is an unusual larger number of space sets this year. City, Technic, Dreamz, Friends, Mini-figures, Duplo, etc. all have space sets this year. I believe this was conscious decision to make an unusual number of space sets. I haven't seen Lego post anything about 60 years of space, but it's possible that they are releasing a lot of space sets this year for their 60th anniversary.
  3. I actually can't find anything. I'm wrong about them being public about it. However, Lego is doing a lot of space sets this year with Technic, Friends, City, etc. I asked someone why it was, and he said it was because of the 60th anniversary of Lego space sets. It is very unusually more space themed than previous years. We even have a minifigure set this year that has all space figures.
  4. Lego celebrates 60 years of Space with the first set being in 1964 and not 1978. They still find Classic Space to be more important because they already released the Galaxy Explorer recently. There's also a lot of references to Classic Space. It's possible that they can have a miniature version of this rocket. Recently they released a tiny version of some Duplo trains from the 1980s.
  5. Lego's first space set was a rocket that was released in 1964. This year Lego is publicly celebrating 60 years of space. I'm surprised that they are not doing a reimagining of a former set like they did with the Galaxy Explorer in 2022 or the Blacktron Cruiser last year
  6. The first Lego Space set was in 1964. Lego is publicly celebrating their 60th anniversary this year.
  7. How would you know that we are not getting another reimagined spaceship? Do we already have all of leaks for all the large Lego sets? You're probably right. I just think a big set like the Galaxy Explorer is missing for the 60th anniversary of Space. I was hoping we would have reimaginings of vintage set this year as we did for the last two years. I can say with certainty that the Space Diner definitely won't be a reimagined version of a vintage set like the Blacktron Cruiser.
  8. Does anyone have any educated guesses about whether or not we will get another reimagining of a classic set this year? Could we get a large set like the Galaxy Explorer or a smaller GWP set like the Blacktron Cruiser? The chances are that if we end up getting a set like this it would probably have to be much later this year because I would have heard of some leaks by now. Given that Lego is publicly celebrating their 60th anniversary of space, I would think that they would want to add a reimagining of a vintage space set for this year like they did in the last two years.
  9. Where did you get the information about the 239 piece count? This is the 40687 set? 239 pieces is not that much compared to the Blacktron Cruiser's 356 pieces. My guess is that whatever it is, it is going to be smaller than the Blacktron Cruiser. Maybe if it's a Retro set, it's going to be a smaller ship or land vehicle? Where did you get this information? Is this the 40687 Space GWP set? The Space 40687 GWP set is rumored to be coming out in May. Based on your description, I can say that it isn't a Retro set based on any 80s or 90s sets.
  10. Does anyone have any updates of what set 40687 Space GWP will be? I am hoping it will be a reimagining of an older set like the Blacktron Cruiser from last year. Are we getting any similar reimaginings of classic sets this year? Earlier this year I thought that the 'large black ship' coming out later this year will be a Blacktron 1 or 2 ship, but now we know it is neither of those and will be based on a new ship for an upcoming Lego movie. Are there any new leaks or clues of what it could be?
