  1. Entrie are allowed until Midnight between Saturday April 7th and Sunday April 8th. So, you better hurry up! There is no entry thread, just create a new topic in the Special LEGO Themes section. Also put "Architecture Contest: in your title. It's GMT time, so I think there are about 3 and a half hours left.
  2. It's a really unique building and your model is really impressive. One thing I don't like thought, is the fact that you made the top of the roof flat. Of course it's a narrow angle and in this scale I'm not sure if there are other options, but maybe you should try something different. Good luck with the competition.
  3. That MOC is really awesome. I can't stop looking at it, always finding new details.... I need to build something piratey soon!!!
  4. Yeah, I know...but how on Earth can I do that? No ideas...
  5. That's so cute!!! A tiny Great Wall !!! I would definately love to have one in my office
  6. I changed the photos, thank you all for your comments.
  7. I will upload the final version tomorrow. I almost changed nothing. I 'd like to ask you thought, would you describe it more as an Architect Series entry or a Landmark one? Thanks!!! However that's a sad place today. A man ( in desperation over his debts ) shot himself with a gun not very far from this building. Read here
  8. Guys...not funny. I wrote 8 of A.pril and appears as January I hate A.pril's F.ools Day
  9. Should our model be finished until 8 of january? So that any further change is forbidden after that?
  10. Thank you all for your kind words. I will put better photos when it's ready. I was thinking about placing it as an Architecture set but I decided that it was more accurate to describe it as a Landmark one. After all I saw some other entries with quite large buildings, so I said why not?
  11. Just between us, I own one by myself Thanks for your kind words! I think that the competition is very high in this contest.
  12. The Old Royal Palace is the former royal palace in Athens, Greece. The palace lies at the Syntagma square and houses the Hellenic Parliament. If you like it you can vote for it (or for any other entry ofcourse) here http://www.eurobrick...opic=68379&st=0 The palace was designed by Friedrich von Gärtner for king Otto of Greece and was completed in 1843. As it originally served as palace for the Greek monarchs, it is sometimes still referred to as the "Old Palace" (Greek: Παλαιά Ανάκτορα). After suffering fire damage in 1909, it entered a long period of renovation. The king and royal family moved to what was from 1897 until then the Crown Prince's Palace, from then on known as the "New Palace" while some royals continued to reside in the "Old Palace" until 1924, when a referendum abolished the monarchy. The building was then used for many different purposes — functioning as a makeshift hospital, a museum, et al. — until November 1929, when government decided that the building would permanently house Parliament. After more extensive renovations, the Senate convened in the "Old Palace" (Παλαιά Ανάκτορα) on 2 August 1934, followed by the Fifth National Assembly on 1 July 1935. Although the monarchy was restored that same year, the building has housed Parliament ever since. I put a lot of effort in this MOC and I think I finally managed to make a decent representation. The model is 28 studs wide and has many details including the four diffent gates (one in every side of the building), the entrance with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Evzones' ( Presidential Guard) outposts and many more. However, my model is only 99% complete, since I'm waiting for one pice to come and also I may change somethings considering your comments So, I will probably add more and better photos later. Until then... I made some minor changes and took some better photos. It is my first microscale MOC!
  13. Can I put a Google Earth image of the actual building? I'm asking because it's dificult to find a photo of the building taken from the right angle
  14. Hehe...like Max from Parenthood show right? I mean he has Asperger and plays with LEGO too grum64, I feel like your story made us all better.
  15. Quite impressive Dornbi, well done! I am finishing my Greek parliament for the same competition, and I was also conserned about the size. Mine is even bigger, 30 x 28 studs!!! I wish you good luck, you deserved it, it is such a nice building and I think it looks good in Lego too.
  16. Welcome Maurice. Greetings from Greece!
  17. Yeah, I was afraid I would have to keep 2 copies for every page, one for the web and one for prinitng.
  18. Hi! I searched a lot but I found no answer. So that's the situation: I'm making a lego weebcomic in Photoshop, I chosed 610 x 610 pixels in order to fit any PC, laptop or netbook screen. Now, my problem is that if I try to print it, 610x610 seems to be too small. I mean in order to make it 20cm x 20cm I should make it about 80ppi which is too low and it will be very blury. Have you encountered the same problem? How is it possible to make a webcomic small enough for the screens but good enough for printing?
  19. So many great details, amazing job! Even the back of the buildings is a pleasure for the eye..
  20. Very nice article, thanks for all the effort. I agree with most of the things you wrote. An additional problem that I see is that now girls will have two (not compatible) types of minifigures to play with.
  21. Tried that, they don't look good. I tried with both versions of my legs and the long arms seem too long. They make the head seem small too.
  22. Personaly, I find it less stylish than the previous modulars. Especially the facade, is a bit confusing. Not very fond of of the color, either... So I'll just give a
  23. Here is an example of how I use the new legs in my comic (rough image): The first episode will soon be ready, I will inform you, and I almost always use these legs. Only sometimes, when they are not visible I use the old ones as they are more stable and they sit on the studs due to the holes they have...

    9v Planes

Well, I'm just a LEGO town guy, and I am not good at physics neither, so...I would love to hear an answer from an expert Here in Moschato(Greece) where I live, on Saturdays I see many people go to the beach, having different types of RC planes, making them do all the kinds of manoeuvres and it's pretty cool (and there is no tree there, only small bushes, so I'll have nothing to worry, unless I drive the plane to the water of course)
