You know what - I've been overthinking it. The simple approach with zip bags would work: One for hats, hairs, helmets, yellow heads, dark heads, etc, respectovely. Would give the categorizing I need to find the bricks quickly.
Thanks for the input. Much better than talking to AI 😀
That's not a bad idea at all with the bead storage boxes. 👍
Will check out what's available. We have som craft stores around, so maybe worth a visit soon
My minifig sorting is a mess. It's all stored in one big box (30 x 40 x 10 cm) and parts like plumes, epaulettes, hands etc are suborganized in small plastic bags. It's far from ideal.
Any suggestion on how to organize that better? I don't have much extra room for shelves and boxes and I don't expect my collection to increase that much. So the solution must not take up much place. Ideally it fits into a shelf in IKEA Kallax shelving unit 🙂
If you have examples on how you store and sort minifigs, I'd ver much like to see that.
yeah, it's something like that I am looking for. Used strings on Bricklink and other places sometimes have some heavy wear. Do you happen to have a label, package or name of the manufacturer?
Hi,
I recently bought a couple of old Pirates sets where the black strings for the sails are not the original. Where can I get the right black strings? Ideally in a roll.
I think I read somewhere that the strings were made by a local sub-supplier to Lego. Is that right and does anyone have a link to that vendor?
Thanks,
Joakim
Thanks for the feedback, Jim.
That's totally fair and I know the concept is a little sales-related - feel free to remove the links or the post if it doesn't comply with the rules.
Hi,
Time for an introduction to the forum. I'm Joakim from Denmark (grew up 30 km from Billund).
I recently rediscovered the joy of building Lego sets after finding my old collections stored at my parents. However, building is more fun than storing, so I came up with this concept:
1. I buy used LEGO sets from friends, family and garage sales.
2. I clean it up and restore lost items
3. I sell complete sets to collectors
4. I donate 20% of the revenue directly to Save The Children in Denmark. So far I've raised around €100 in 2024
Having fun building legos while supporting a good cause - what's not to like? :)
Hi,
I'm Joakim. Living in Denmark and grew up 30 km from Billund. Almost a local Lego boy 😀
A couple of years ago I found my old Lego sets from around 1990 and had fun building them again. But as you know, building is much more fun than storing, so I made this concept:
1. I buy used LEGO sets from friends and family. Mainly vintage sets from 1980-2000.
2. I clean it up and restore lost items
3. I sell complete sets to collectors
4. I donate 20% of the revenue directly to Save The Children in Denmark
I've collected almost €100 in charity so far in 2024. Check out the campaign here:

I get new sets for sale from time to time. My full collection is available here: https://store.bricklink.com/onkelpappa
Happy to be a part of this forum.
