I agree it doesn't look great, and the design on his face looks off. As for the rest of what you're saying, I think you're going way too deep with it. There's a roller coaster at Disneyland that has Slinky as the literal rollercoaster, with the carts being fit in between his coils, there's scenes in the Toy Story films where Slinky has stuff in between his coils - saying "you can't insert books into the middle of his coils" is silly, and realistically, can be done. He's also a toy, there's no reason he can't split in half, either, lol. Dog themed book ends have been a thing for a long, long time - with the head at one end, and the tail at the other - and given the long body type of a dachshund, they're a very popular and common design when it comes to dog book ends. Slinky is very obvious based on a dachshund, and the idea of Toy Story Slinky book ends have been done by other companies in the past. If you literally google "dachshund bookends" you'll find a tonne of listings, and (at least in my country) not just drop shipping sites like amazon, actual reputable retail stores selling them; using a character from a popular IP that is also a dachshund only makes sense. I understand what you're saying, and sometimes a Lego set is bad simply because it's bad; this isn't one of them. This set is bad because it looks horrible and has poor execution, not because the entirety is bad. They could very easily have still made Slinky function as a pair of bookends, omitted the brick built books from the set, and used those pieces to make Slinky look better, or discard the pieces and lower the set price. Iirc, of all the Lego book ends/nooks we have thus far, Wicked is the only one to include brick built books, and that one at least has the books built into the design and functionality. Here, the books are there, quite literally, for the sake of it, and to ramp up the price and piece count. Slinky can still be displayed as a buildable character, it's not like he can only be displayed as a pair of bookends - and even then, saying it's "bad" when we only have two low quality images of it, doesn't allow anyone to judge it fairly. Would the overall design look better if it was a dedicated brick built figure, not books needed? Maybe, maybe not, who can say. Regardless, trying to say using Slinky as a pair of bookends doesn't work or make sense, well that just comes across as petulant more than anything, IMO. There's literal data to back the concept, now if they were trying to do this using Bullseye, Rex, or Hamm, etc... fair criticism. You can't say that for Slinky. I just don't think Slinky translates well from a character to a toy. He has dead eyes, and many toys made of him (even official Disney merch), just have him look dead inside. The idea of using Slinky as a pair of bookends is a great idea, It's a great idea, it works, there's a market for it, it makes sense, and the - I really don't think anyone can deny the idea of doing doesn't make sense on paper - unfortunately, the overall design, and execution of it, is absolutely abhorrent. -

Could be irrelevant, tho issue #27 of the (latest) lego jurassic magazine has a new look mosasaur on the cover. I know we have the sketch of the upcoming set, this might also be some indication of how it may look? idk -

Wouldn't be the first time. There's two Nasa Apollo sets (21309 and 20139) BOTH having 1,969 pieces, referencing the moon landing in 1969. The Mona Lisa (31213) has 1,503 pieces, and 1503 is when the painting was started. There's some more with the piece count being an easter egg, and then we all know there's a tonne of easter eggs in so many sets that reference something that would easily go past someones head. Not saying I necessarily believe, or agree that it'll be a raptor because of that; it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility tho -
I'm looking forward to the East Wing, and I agree I don't think the CoS will be anything substantial. Poster above that said it might be a slide out, think they're right on the money. Makes me glad I picked up the previous CoS set! I always wanted to grab the OG from the 2000's and never did as a child. I would love a full scaled (modern) set where the chamber is the main build, tho I think the previous iteration is more than good enough for me. Looking forward to the new basilisk mould tho!

You're right in the sense that we can't know for sure until we get confirmation, I just don't see it being anything other than a baby brick built Dino. Like I said, the naming of the set follows the three other baby brick built dinosaurs: Little Eatie: T. Rex Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops Baby Bumpy: Ankylosaurus and now we're set to have "Baby Dinosaur: Pteranodon" They all follow the pattern of Name Colon Species. I honestly do not see why this upcoming one wouldn't be the same -

Given the naming scheme follows Dolores, Bumpy and Little Eatie, most likely itll be a brick built baby and not based off JP3 -

It's fake Some guy literally posted it on reddit/twitter as fan art, and now people have taken it as real. -
I won't lie, it's a bit disappointing the larger piece count didn't go to the museum. The biggest set of the wave is a bit of a let down, but im not upset by the museum build at all! They managed to fit in a tonne of stuff, and the hinges on the side for display purposes is great. Only thing I don't like is the roost being crammed into the corner... rather they just not include that, and instead have the roost be its own set.

I think the only thing you’ve managed to show through this whole ordeal is how low your IQ is -

Idk if there is another set? 76971 got “skipped” which is odd because it lies between the brick built Aquillops (76970) and the raptor set (76972), so idk, it MIGHT be under such strict embargo, but it’s strange we haven’t seen any piece count or cost for it idk I want a D Rex lmao -

Are we missing a set that could potentially really have the D Rex? I’m not on top of all the set numbers we can expect in saying that, all these are great. Only one I’m not sold on are the two brick built dinosaurs (Mosa and Aqu), will probably pick up those two sets at some stage tho if they go on sale / but just the way Aquillops is done, especially how it’s posed on the box art, it looks like a giant ground sloth?? The other sets are 10/10 tho! i really wanted the new Quetz Color scheme too but already have the JWD one so wasn’t planning on getting the set unless it was appealing, but I wanted the Spino so since it comes in that set, I’m very happy haha. T rex river set looks nice, but I know it’s going to be expensive. Do wish the Rex came in a different Color tho (edit: actually I think it is a new Color scheme, I just thought it was a repeat because it’s a cross of the common tan/gray and tan/brown Rex we’ve gotten ample times before?) Nice to see a new raptor mould, just wish it had some orange on it which we’ve seen from the leaked renders. Baby Aqullops is very cute, too! a bit sad to see they’re also not painting the claws of them anymore, so it anyone has any experience doing that themselves shoot me a DM because I’d love to know which paints to use! -

I assume you mean Chaos EFFECT. Chaos Theory is a different show and is not cancelled
