  1. Found a much clearer photo of Belle to compare to Cinderella. Able to pick up a few things that might hopefully suggest their faces are different. 1. The tail of Belle's eyebrow seems to extend further past the wings of her eyelashes than Cinderella's brows do. 2. Belle's eyebrows seem to not only be thinner but less s-shaped than Cinderella's - possible more angular. 3. The wings of Belle's eyelashes seem to angle more upwards compared to Cinderella, and is possibly one lash flick vs Cinderella's double flick. 4. Can't tell without the lips, but both the eyes and brows for Belle do still seem to sit quite higher - though, as I expressed in an earlier post, could just be misplaced printing. 5. Belle's mouth doesn't seem to have the same mouth creases as Cinderella. I'm aware I can't post the updated collage here but it can be accessed from my flickr profile https://www.flickr.com/people/200981233@N03/
  2. I support these too. There was a fair amount of time invested in learning about their character. They shouldn't be left out.
  3. I would accept Alice and Wendy sharing the same face - after all, they are virtually the same apart from minor adjustments that you've already noted. Additionally, it is unlikely that someone will display both Alice and Wendy together unless someone is putting all their Disney figs together in the same display. I totally agree with your point that Cinderella and Belle share the features you've described, I just don't get Belle vibes with the expression they have for Cinderella's face print. In trying to suck it up and get over it, as I know I'm drawing on my own perception of how Belle should look, I'm still at least bothered by the fact that I will be displaying Belle in the castle alongside the other princesses. I'm sure many other people will too. It will look a bit silly to have Belle and Cinderella looking the same facial wise, and I don't know why Lego didn't put the effort in when they have recognised in the princess line that princesses are always going to be grouped up by fans and therefore should look different.
  4. Yeah that makes sense from a business/production perspective. I just find it amusing in my own way that the prince whom we know almost nothing about from the film, and is not iconic as Charming to get away with it, may be one of few princes that pulls throughh into being made compared to Philip, Eric, and Beast (or Adam, unofficially) who are far more fleshed out. Naveen and Flynn were a must being that they are even more explored as characters, and Charming gets a pass for being iconic/epitome of princes in fairy tales. Florian, while I am still happy with for the sake of Snow White, makes me ponder on things - that's all ðŸŦ  Yes we won't accept that lack of a silver dress and strawberry blonde hair!!! Kidding, kidding - though yes the colours are more of a pressing factor than the sleeve printing. I think in some parts I will say the colouring comes down to trying to work with their existing palette, but there are other times where I just think "why". I agree with your earlier post about Belle needing to be more golden. I think the bodice of her dress should be more yellow-orange and Lego should have instead used the colour they are currently using for the bodice for the skirt. And yes absolutely annoying for the face printing to be the same. I would give a pass for Wendy in terms of both her and Cinderella sharing the same art style and that Wendy is more likely to be displayed in her diorama than the castle - though as discussed, the piece does make her look older which is the drawback I have. But Cinderella and Belle? Sorry, I can't make sense of it. If someone told me I HAD TO pick a princess that looked like Belle, at the most and very relunctantly, I'd pick Ariel. Not just the same art style, but the way they present themselves through just facial and body language - they have more sincerity, more passion, more expression. They are more lively and human in how they respond and express things vs the era of Snow White and Cinderella. Cinderella is more poise. Yes her actions are sincere but she has a very collected and graceful way of expressing herself. She's almost slightly less expressive because I think at the time the art style Disney was trying to prioritise more the beauty of reverance/perfection than the realistic/naturally human reactions a person might have. I would not use the same description to describe Belle - who is actively outspoken and is more than willing to express herself less gracefully than Cinderella but more courageously and raw. Regardless, the two are very much going to be displayed in the castle considering the Beauty and the Beast reference, so that's just awkward in its own sense. Photo to better support what I'm saying:
  5. It kinda feels odd having priority placed on Florian made into a minifigure over Eric, Philip, and Beast. I'm hoping we do get them - like we nearly got a Philip prior to last minute changes, so hopefully this means they may intend to later from him and the rest. I didn't like it at first but when trying to think of how the sleeves might look on the arms I figured, from own interperation, it would look so wacky like she's wearing a t-shirt. It's since grown on me to have her sleeves as torso printing. But Belle - I'm 50/50. I look at the arms and slightly wonder why they couldn't print onto the arms considering you're printing on light nougat compared to a darker colour; however, thanks to Cinderella and you're explanation earlier, I can move past it. Currently more concerned about the face printing if I'm honest...
  6. That's actually a fairly valid point. I guess it should look great nonetheless, considering when you look at Cinderella they printed her sleeves on the torso, leaving the arms as plain dual molded pieces, and it works fine.
  7. You can check out the YouTuber The UniBricks.
  8. Agreed. I wouldn't mind if it was just Cinderella and, if they happen to be the same, Belle - however, the thought of three minifigures sharing the same face printing is a tad annoying. At least for Belle it would work seeing that she is more older than Wendy and closer to Cinderella in age. I'm also surprised that they didn't give Belle strap printing on her arms in the same way they did with Aurora...
  9. Cinderella has brown eyebrows. We'll know when we get a clear photo I guess. So far the lack of being able to see the lips and that her eyes seem a little higher than Cinderella's (though could just be the eye printing placement being slightly off) are keeping me hopeful that they are different. If you want to compare for yourself, here are the images I used. In a separate collage, I had these two photos either side with a screenshot of Belle up close in the middle. **Edit** You can access the photos on my flickr, hopefully my most recent photo will help in case these don't do.
  10. Yes I agree with the lips - that's why I'm doubtful. Apart from the lips, the shape of the smile and eyebrows are what made me think they could be the same head piece. If not the same, then they must just look extremely alike.
  11. Photo is available to be seen in a video by The UniBricks' YouTube if anyone hasn't seen it yet and wants too. Look so amazing!!! I love what they have done with all the included characters. I do think Sebastian and Flounder look out of place without Ariel, but hopefully this means we may end up with her later on - similar to how we got Gaston and now Belle. As for Belle though, her face looks new but also looks somewhat Cinderella's. I hope it's an original print. Nonetheless, I love the dress and actually works without the wider piece! **Edit** Did a comparison with a side on shot of Cinderella alongside the leaked Belle. It seems they do have the same face print, but I hope I'm mistaken. Also do we think her hairpiece will be plastic or rubber?
  12. Thank you!!! Wish she got the wider dress but too at the same time I'm just so happy to know we're getting her. Hopefully the photo will become available soon.
  13. Dang, I figured there was photo by how everyone was talking... Oh well... Well seeing this was the case, can anyone confirm whether not Belle recieved the following: 1. New face print. 2. The minidoll Belle hair piece and, if it was possible to see, that the hair piece received printing where the band part is. 3. A big dress piece (like the Queen of Hearts)
  14. Ooo thank you!!! You're amazing! Going to go check it out now! **Edit** Ah just realised you were referring to the original submission image. Yes I've seen this. Sorry I thought you were referring to a new image - that's my bad, I just finished work so my brain is on break ðŸŦ
  15. Oh. my. Disney!!!! Hooray!!! ðŸĪĐ😭ðŸĨđ🙏ðŸŧ By any chance, can we know the source? Nonetheless, absolutely estatic right now. Got me so intrigued! Is there any image you're referring to for this information, or is it just a description that you are drawing upon? Also, on Beast being a big fig, I hope they do something like they do with Mr Incredible in his videogame design. Being an actual big fig seems way too much for me - like I'd personally prefer a standard minifigure over that. **Edit** After re-reading this, I just processed that we're not getting Ariel from what you've said. Had a feeling they would be very restrictive with how many princess they include. Honestly, I'm glad we've got Belle over Ariel as Ariel was easy for me to make an updated minifigure moc for (just need to get her new hair piece). Wouldn't be able to achieve the same thing if it was the other way round.
  16. I think the Cinderella head does look better on Alice than it does Wendy, however, yes I agree that she looks like an adult rather than a child. But, as for those darker eye brows, chefs kiss! Definitely confirms for me that it must be the eyebrows of the actual Alice head piece that throws me off. Speaking of the Alice head piece, swapping it on Wendy works too and, while I think it is very much just the lighting, it isn't as jarring to me when used on Alice. Thank you though for sending us a photo Ottoriver 😁 100% - I understand Lego's philosophy to an extent but yes they need to acknowledge that adult fans do exist and will buy their products if they make minor adjustments that cater to them. I think the Disney Princesses line still has it's place though. And surely there is a benefit to appealing to adults even if adults might not buy the set themselves. Take a parent who has nostalgia for Lego, I would think if they come across a set that they think "wow I would absolutely love this set" and they have a child who has the potential to be interested in Lego if only they were introduced to it, they would be more inclined to buy it for their kid.
  17. Ahhhhh, gotcha'. Well at least that makes me feel less silly for thinking I should just leave that message as a substitute for not being able to delete it 😅
  18. Yeah I can certainly agree that the eye lines do age her a little haha. I find that having Cinderella's head being used on Wendy slightly unfitting - ages her too a bit. Nonetheless, I wonder how the head would look with Alice's hair ðŸĪ”
  19. Just got home. Here's a photo of Ariel with the Kate McCallister head. You can definitely tell the eyebrows are orange when this close but, even by being just a bit further away, the shadow of her fringe darkens them enough to appear like they are of a deep red colour.
  20. Sorry sent post to wrong forum and I don't know how to delete posts 😎ðŸŠĶ😭
  21. My complete guess, from a business point of view, why would you put as much effort into a new line of sets that basically share the same concepts as the more established and confirmed profitable Disney princesses line but just features minifigures. A case I think is relevant to this is the Maleficient diorama. They wanted a "play set", but apart from a doll house castle I'm sure dragon Maleficient would still be able to be posed and you had a setting suited to acting out the Philip and Maleficient battle during play. You could have still thrown in Aurora too if there was a concern that children would not think it was a Sleeping Beauty set as she was missing - simply add a small side build of her bedroom similar to the coffin in the Snow White set. They just knew they would get a guaranteed sale with the disney princess line and could save on creating new prints and new minifigures with an existing Philip doll while recycling a pink Aurora as the set is not attempting to completely replicate the movie scenes or concepts (Aurora would have to be blue). With the Disney princess line, it prevents the risk of selling a set for Sleeping Beauty and younger children not recognising the property because she isn't included or she's not her typical pink portrayal if included, it allows bright colours to attract children, it is not outright based on a scene which avoids complaints of inaccuracy, and it saves money for using old designs for exisiting dolls.
  22. Yeah that's the only thing with the Kate head, the eyebrows are orange instead of dark red. From a distance you don't really notice until you take a closer inspection. I think I might send a photo when I get home because it is a good substitute to continue recent facial printing trends nonetheless. I love the alternative shocked face too, as I often pose her with Ursula with a small build of her "voice orb". That face works perfectly for capturing her reaction to the voice exchange in the film. I've always wanted Alice but the face always seemed too off, and in fact I think it's the eyebrows now that you've mentioned it. I would love a new one where this is fixed. As for Snow White, I would say her eyebrows are thicker due to modern depictions.
  23. I would think it would make sense if they did. Particularly with female Disney characters, they have what I would describe as 'Lego movie faces', where their mouths/teeth do not use black lining and an open smile is simply depicted as red and white. If you look at recent Disney female minifigures, they use the black lines. I'll upload a photo in a minute to better describe what I mean. **Edit** Okay I've included a photo. The left side is what I mean by a very 'Lego movie face' versus on the right the most recent and typical design for minifigures. I've even gone and updated my Ariel's headpiece with Kate McCallister's to have all my minifigures share the same style in face printing. Can share photos of this for anyone who wants to know if it looks good and try doing so themselves.
  24. I adore this!!! I want some variants alongside character additions *cough cough - blue dress Aurora too please - cough cough* I would love a human Ariel in addition to an updated mermaid Ariel too, but yes a mermaid Ariel would be better suited to the set design. Theoretically though, if we do get a human Ariel, you can just take the head and hair of human Ariel and pop onto her CMF mermaid body.
  25. Absolutely agree that they should actually do something with BTAS sets instead of this brief exploration. I can't get into the Nolan sets because it just keeps getting rehashed with small build changes, and therefore I don't want to keep buying the same thing. As for Tim Burton, it was good to see something new, but, with focus mainly on bat vehicles, it felt under-explored. The shadow box was the only thing that made me think "wow". Personally, this would make me very happy. Yes definitely would be pricey and clearly another bat vehicle, but the addition of Robin and Two face would give me the hope of more change in which I would be willing to let the cost slide. Apart from the BTAS batmobile, I have not bought a DC set in ages and it would be nice to make a change to that. I remember at the time of the sets that arised with Lego Batman 2 game, I wanted to try and get all the sets and, eventually, I managed to actually achieve a complete collection for TLBM sets. I miss those days of excitement and actually having the opportunity to collect sets that are unique from each other than constant repeats.
