Little bit more progress for the instructions:). Pieces so far 562:). And my previous mocs used 2L axles in black and red. But with this one and future mocs i will only use the black 2L axle:). And while my models are mostly black and white. I do use subtle color coding some times to make sure the final builder doesn't botch the build;).

Now to the obligatory final part count quiz. I feel like this model has around 1500-2100pcs:). And yes, i do a lot of playability testing with this one. Since the previous "flagship" failed miserable and it had to be scrapped. But this one does deliver on the promise of fun playable technic model. Without any compromises. Yes, i can agree the superstructure rotation might be a bit too slow. But i wanted to make sure it does work without any hiccups. Since the tracked outback dumper had a few quirks for it's rotation and this one fixes all of those quirks. But other than that the rest of the functions do work much better and faster than on the poor 42215:). And my building and engineering skills might be slightly improved again. Because the gearboxes were pretty easy to design, without any gray hairs;).

More progress for the instructions. Now i will take the much needed break. I have builded this 4-5 days straight and i have not gone outside or grocery shopping. So now i will take much needed break from this:). And in case you are curious yes, my fingers really hurt yesterday evening when i stopped for the night, because i had builded 4-5 days straight about over 12h a day. With minimal breaks:).

Little bit of testing. The 1x XL motor can handle 3 boom functions at the same time without any issues. So even thought this has only 1 motor. The 8043 boom is as playable as on the real 8043 set with 4 motors. But since the 8043 used M motors the 8043 isin't as powerfull as this one. Because my model uses XL motor:).

For benchmarking purposes(Pls note i don't own the 42215). The 42215 has 3 really slow lineactuator functions and 1 meh useless slow bucket unlocking function. My newest moc has 4 "slower" functions and 2 slightly faster functions. My model uses 1x XL motor with slower gear ration. For maximum power and torque;). While the 42215 uses 1x C+ L motor. Which is painfully slow and slightly weak for it's setup:). And unlike the failed project which was on instructions table when i noticed that had a major flaw. The new moc has been tested more deeply and thruly and it doesn't have any serious issues so far. Im really happy and proud how my new flagship model turned out:). The new model includes my first Ackermann steering setup:).

More progress:). I have tested the "Frankenstein" excavator and it works really good. Yes, superstructure is a bit back heavy. But the the 8043 boom does counterbalance it enought. And this model is powered by 1x XL motor so this is more powerfull than the sad 42215:). And if you have questions about the boom. My gearing is different to 8043. The bucket and second part of the boom does move similar speed to 8043. But the lower 2 sylinders move slower than the 8043:). I was really happy that i was able to hide nicely the chassis and superstructure functions switch. So the exhaust pipe switches between the chassis and superstructure functions:).
