New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
ExpiredHero replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
final set of the kingdom red soldiers whom are a red version of the crownies and loosely based on the original crusader lion knights.. BUT.... a new set for the new Falcon Kingdom.. and this set would be a great set to end the red kingdom knights and introduce the black falcon I wold love that to be the case and for TLG to go back to having some crossover when new factions are introduces / old ones phased out. Hopefully this will mean we get Falcon Vs Dragon for a while, before Dragon get their own "goodbye" set and are replaced with something else. Probably a wild dream though Loving the look of 10223 though and can see it doing very very well. -
I haven’t really been following the new Dino range, but now that these pictures have come out it has really caught my eye. Personally I think the weakest set looks to be the HQ as there is something about it that just makes it seem empty. Saying that, I do think the figures, mini-vehicles and accessories in the set should make up for that (and it can easily be used in a MOC). The Pteranodon and Raptor sets look great though and I can see the whole range making my wish list!

Just to add that everyone on Bricklink has to start somewhere. As others have said, document with photos the items you send and maybe insist on sending it with a tracked service? As to the currency fee's I think they are added to the ammount the buyer pays, but I am not 100% sure on that.

This looks fantastic! Especially like the mine entrance and the surrounding foliage - it gives the scene a full look without looking too "busy".

Both used, havn't been able to justify the prices for sealed boxes just yet.

A little while back I was looking for a new username for a DnD website, and some artwork of a Gelatinous Cube (Image) caught my eye and the name ExpiredHero just seemed to fit with the image. Since then I have used it on a few different site, although the cube is no longer my avatar.

I am reading through the "Shadows of the Apt" series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I am up to book 5 at the moment (Scarab's Path) and have loved all of them so far.

I was able to pick up a boxed Futuron "StarDefender 200" from eBay this weekend at a fraction of the price they sell for on BrickLink as the seller couldn’t guarantee it was complete. Decided to risk it and it seems to have paid off. It was delivered today and assembled this evening and every part is there with the bricks all in pretty good condition. It even came with a fair few extra bricks

Opinions about Kingdoms aside (I happen to love it ), MMV refers to set 10193 - "Medieval Market Village" which was the last big set (I believe) for the previous Castle theme.

Very basic LDD question
ExpiredHero replied to ExpiredHero's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That is handy to know, it seems to make it easier to jump around a build and then just fine tune to the area you want using shift+click. I managed to finish my first build in LDD - nothing original, just building some Space sets following instructions to get used to the software. Can't wait to start designing MOCs now! As a newbie, I think that left+right click for panning would be a great addition - it was actually one of the things I tried while trying to figure it out. Using shift feels a little cumbersome. -
Very basic LDD question
ExpiredHero replied to ExpiredHero's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That is exactly what I needed to know, thanks a million! -
Apologies for creating a new thread form what is probably a really basic question, but searching hasn't helped me as I think the terms are too vague. In LDD, I can rotate pieces and zoom in and out easily enough but I cannot find a way to move the camera left / right / forward / back. I am positive there must be a simple trick I am missing, so please help a poor newbie out

I think that overall the trans-blue one looks better - however it then dosn't really look like a spacecraft and looks far more like a futuristic Earth fighter jet. Despite the minimal colour changes, the trans-orange one looks a lot more futuristic and space worthy - and fits in far better with an Ice Planet theme.

How open are you about your Lego passion?
ExpiredHero replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am very open about all my crazy / childish hobbies - I figure if people can't get over it then that is their problem not mine My wife is super supportive of the hobby, and is always keen to offer advise on what I am doing. Ultimately it keeps me out of her hair and she thinks it is cheaper than some other hobbies (how little she knows ) My best friends all know as we are all iant geeks at heart be it in DnD, CRPGs, Wargames etc and although they have no intrest in Lego themselves they are happy to put up with me when I insist on showing them what I have bought / built. Finally, the people at work I sit with all know - and I have even gone so far to show them photo's of what I have built recently. A few of ladies have young teenage boys themselves and think it is funny that boys "never really grow up". -
Just started reading this from the beginning today, excellent work KDog! Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do - should to keep me busy for a few days.

Just got 6885 Crater Crawler and 6848 Strategic Pursuer online as an early Christmas present to myself. Now I just have to play the waiting game while they are delivered

Do you mean the one in this thread? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47568&st=1095 Edit: Beaten by maydayartist who has linked to the same moc in a different thread

Thanks for the welcomes! One thing I plan to do as a father is NEVER let my son get rid of his Lego... ever!

Really like this Forestmen MoC, especially seeing the WiP shots and how the project has developed. The rockfaces look amazing and the hideout definitely has an old school Castle vibe with the secret doors

I voted for Ice Planet and Blacktron. Back in Christmas 1993 when I was the young age of ten, my parents and grandparents chipped in and got me the whole Ice Planet range (with multiples of the smaller sets). Before that I had only gotten a few bits and pieces from different themes so having a whole range was pretty big for me and being able to create a whole planetscape using them was amazing at that age. I remember very vividly spending the afternoon building everying with my Grandad - as such the sets have a special place in my heart. For the remaining Space themes Blacktron (Future Generation) and M-Tron were up there with Ice Planet in my eyes, but I think that Blacktron would be better suited for a modern day remake compared to M-Tron. I just don't think the magnet gimmick would cut it in todays market.

@Magnus, The Dragon Knights think themselves as the good guys, whether they actually are is another matter The truth is I prefer the Dragon minifigs over the Lions and I tend to make the side I like the visuals of most the "good" guys. The torsos are still in flux at the moment, with only 14 men they seem to get swapped and rearmed on a daily basis. (At the moment they are posed on the castle as if they are repelling an attack.) Once I get a larger number of troops things will become more concrete with equipment.

Nowhere near as impressive as some of the previous few posts, but from small things great armies are born! I present you the honorable Dragon Knights, who have taken up positions in a castle recently liberated from the foul and perverse Lion Knights! 1 Prince and 2 Knights on Horseback, 2 Soldiers (Halberds), 1 Standard Bearer, 2 Spearman Levy, 4 Crossbow Levy, 2 Catapult Troops Edited as I changed image host
