  1. My "head cannon" is more or less this: I have ranks that go across all colors - Admiral/General, Captain, Commander, Ensign and Cadet - each with 3 classes from 3rd to 1st. I think of the colors like the colors on the flight deck of a carrier - you know immediately their jobs just by looking at them. White - Pilots (there are all the misc. white spacesuits that look more like the Blacktron pilots so...) ranks Commanders and Captain 3rd Cls. Red - Mission Commanders/Pilots (occasionally)/Scientists. ranks Commander 1st Cls. and Captains. Yellow - Engineering - rank Commander Blue - Generalist (aka the grunts) - rank Ensign. Black - Intelligence/Security - ranks Commander and Captain Green - Mechanic - ranks Commander and Ensign 1st Cls. Pink - Medical - ranks Ensigns, Commanders and Captains. (Medics, nurses and doctors) Grey - Office Staff (rarely seen on the flight deck, usually seen with jackets) - ranks Ensign 2nd/1st Cls. and Commander. Orange - Infantry. (With the orange helmets in that one VIP pack, I grabbed my Galaxy Squad guys and made them part of the cannon - they get special suits and are in "Squads" of Orange, Blue, Red and Green. I've got lots of orange so...) All ranks. Purple - Command Staff - ranks Admirals/Generals. Generals tend to wear all orange Classic Space. Brown - Ordnance - ranks Ensign and Commander. Cadets - Figs from the Master Builder Academy sets. I have levels 1, 2 and 3 so Cadets in those years. As for blue baby? Its what you dress your child in for take your child to work day. :) Steve "Yes, Benny is a grunt" Peterson.
  2. I really like this design. And I'm going to steal borrow your design on the rover. Very cool use of the old school treads. Steve "Me amateur, you professional" Peterson
  3. Another general purpose one man ship - the LL-G0113 The Griffin. This one is built using the big chonky airframe base from Emmit and Benny's Builld and FIx Workshop. I started to rebuild (just for fun) a 918-esque one man spaceship based on the same chonky airframe base (see second photo). Somewhere in-between digging out the trans-yellow windscreens and finding out I was short wings, this took a sudden left turn and became this. 36 studs wingtip to wingtip and 31 studs from front to back. 4. The Blacktron Industries BT - 0101 Vulture. A short to medium range fighter designed for patrolling remote outposts. Armed with 4 FIreHawk missles and 4 phase disrupters, it is not a ship to trifle with. Quite quick in outer space, it is unfortunately a bit unruly on planets and planetoids with medium or greater atmospheric densities with all the flight characteristics of a flying brick. Comes with a small shuttle for doing a quick patrols of industrial areas where the larger ship cannot fit. Favorite of the pilots due to the panoramic cockpit screen even though it is not exactly the prettiest ship in existence. This ship is 24 studs long to the tail excluding the wings. 5. I like trans-blue with the white/blue scheme of the Galaxy Commander, but i didnt have the right parts to make this one in that color scheme. So FX it is. At least there were some official sets that were in the non-usual blue/grey/trans-yellow.
  6. The latest from Space Command - the LL-G1228. A small one man interstellar craft with a personal hover-hopper on board. Equipped withe the all new faster-than-light drive - Quantum Entanglement Tunnel drive (noted by all the "tuning forks"). Allows for a much faster point to point jump without all that mucking about in hyperspace. Unfortunately, it requires that the ship have previously been to that location for the entanglement to work, so it limits its usefulness. So basically its duties have been limited as a way to deliver diplomatic pouches as quickly as possible and its turned this ship into an overglorified mail truck. For this entry, I went with the color scheme from the FX Star Patroller (Blue/Grey/Trans-blue) (I REALLY wish that windscreen came in Trans-Yellow). It is 22.5 studs long by 22 studs wide. 9. / DELURK I've been hanging around forever and finally decided to get involved. So Hi, I'm Steve and here's my first entry for the Classic Space Contest. PXL_20221222_200054152 by azkerosene, on Flickr For this entry I went with the original blue/grey/trans-yellow color scheme.
