Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
NostalgicBricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
JediJACPenguin says the $120 set is actually listed for only $100. Everyone's comments about the Lovegood house have got me so hyped that I really hope it's that. -

There are so many beautiful and amazing Lego sets and I'm always tempted by them, but I only collect Lego Harry Potter. I also collect non-Lego Harry Potter and Wizarding World products. I did collect all the Lego Simpsons and Lego Dimensions add-ons, too. Sometimes I get the odd small thing like the New York postcard, or the Muppets CMFs for my mom. This year I'm going to convince my dad to buy some Indiana Jones sets because Indiana Jones to him is what Harry Potter is to me - he doesn't like to build Lego, but I do. I also really want to buy the Home Alone house for me and my boyfriend to build at Christmas because it's both of ours favourite Christmas film, but I want to find a good offer before it's retired. I would also be tempted by that Taylor Swift Ideas house if it ever came to fruition. -

Wow you're right, I've just looked and last year's sets cost £1,117.86 full price (before the price increases) in the UK so probably about the same as this year! -

I wish I could do the same! From the 2018 reboot onwards, I was only missing the art set and the Harry and Hermione bigfigs but I got them for Christmas because they were reduced. With this ridiculously-priced wave, I'm going to have to wait for offers and sales because it's unattainable to carry on like this. So many of the 2022 sets had great offers over Christmas so I'm going to try and hang on. I can imagine the Brickheadz will be reduced sooner or later because I can't see them being best-sellers with that character line up. There is no way I'm buying a £150 Knight Bus and if Expecto Patronum really is a vignette I can skip another £60 there, too (i will probably not be able to resist getting them in the future at a lower price, though). I have £120 in VIP Points so I'm going to use them towards Gringotts, and wait for the GWP if it doesn't run alongside its launch. I'm desperate for all of the Banners (except Slytherin) but I can imagine they'll be reduced soon like the Moments books, too. For the past two summers, Very has offered me a 20% discount because I have an account with them, which I have used for the June sets. Fingers crossed it happens again! Woah, how did I not know this piece exists? It would be perfect for PS! But remember the stone is wrapped up in Gringotts - I kind of want them to recreate that old Lego package print on a 2x1 tile like they used to have! And then they could add the stone to a proper forbidden corridor final challenge set. Interesting side-note: I still have the 2001 Gringotts and Forbidden Corridor sets somewhere. I really want to rebuild them! -

OMG, HollyonFilm just said what if Expecto Patronum is the lake and tent with the Doe. Imagine that, with an Always sign. I would cry. -

Me too. But I remember how I felt last year when the summer '22 sets were leaked and I thought they sounded awful, but I ended up loving them. Remember that there are two unknown - last year the unknown set ended up being spectacular (Grimmauld Place). I am so happy for Gringotts and The Battle of Hogwarts, and Dobby is one of my favourite characters. But I was hoping for a couple of really great playsets that fill in some holes we're missing - The Final Challenges, a PS/CoS set with Fang, the Wedding, the tent, the Lovegood house. But at least this shows Lego is happy to spread this theme out and try to appeal to everyone. I bet I will end up adoring this wave. :) -

76420 is the Black Lake, so I'm guessing Dobby is 76421. -

OMG I'm so excited. I literally can't concentrate on anything else for 90 minutes. Reading everyone's ideas makes me even more excited. I'm not going to make any guesses, but on the video thumbnail, behind the Deathly Hallows sign, that sure looks like a violent purple, triple-decker bus to me. Everyone talking about the Lovegood house is making me so hyped for it; Lego does the dolls-house style HP sets so well. I desperately want Fang this year, and I'd love some Deathly Hallow sets (especially the tent or the wedding) and something from the first two movies (Hagrid's Hut, the Final Challenge, Troll in the Dunegon etc.). Let's go! -

I'm sorry, but I can't get behind the theory that's currently sweeping YouTube that Lego would make a Gringotts for only $160. -

I just finished building the Harry Potter art set I got for Christmas (I chose Gryffindor). I now have the entire 2018-present Lego HP range. Bring on 2023! It was a but of a repetitive build, but the finished product looks nice and I'll display it near my PS5 for Hogwarts Legacy. -

I'm not an insider or anything, I'm just a fan, so I just repeat what I see. But on one of his videos he showed a fading picture of the Knight Bus and Gringotts and said there were supposed to be 2 D2Cs this year, hinting to those two. It could have been his reaction to the March sets. And TopicBricks seems to think there will be 2 D2Cs, and BrickClicker seems to think Gringotts is coming. I don't know if it's insider info or just hopeful speculation because of the display in London. Hopefully we'll find out soon! -

I agree. I have many issues with the film adaptions, but they have a special place in my heart; as they do for so many others. I can't imagine anyone else making the first film any better and capturing the magic of the novel on the screen, or Hermione or Hagrid or Snape or McGonagall being played by anyone else. But I really hope to see the conclusion to the FB series in some way, and I would adore an animation of the main book series; and I would just love any more WW series or films they give me (as long as they remain true to the heart of it). -

I wouldn't worry about that. I'm positive JK wouldn't allow another live action adaption because she was such a good friend of, and fan of the portrayal by, Alan Rickman and Robbie Coltrane; and all involved must know that fans wouldn't be happy with a reboot. She has to OK everything that happens, thankfully, or I'm positive that WB would want to Star Wars the IP. I think they are probably just exploring more WW productions. Personally, I'm hoping for an animated series based on the books, a streaming series (or the last two films) of Fantastic Beasts with the film cast and a film of Quidditch Through the Ages. Let's put it this way: she better not allow them to make a HP reboot without giving me my FB finale. -

I don't know anything about leaked lists, but JediJACPenguin said in a YouTube video that there would be two D2Cs - the more expensive Gringotts and the cheaper Knight Bus. And TopicBricks also said there will be 2 D2Cs this year. I guess we just have to wait and see. -

If some YouTubers are to be believed, I'm guessing that cheaper D2C (unfortunately) will be the Knight Bus. -

Well, I never ever want the theme to end and I would be very disappointed if it did when I thought it was now evergreen. But I will say that if it does end, and I don't get a minifigure-scale D2C Hogwarts Castle (and no, I don't mean the entire thing) and a third CMF, I will feel very unsatisfied. -

Like others have said, The Burrow has both an amazing interior and exterior (which is not always very common for Lego) and captures one of my favourite places in the Wizarding World wonderfully (even including nods to the books with some of the stickers). The minifgures leave a lot to be desired, and I wish it included Mrs. Weasley's kitchen sink, but it's definitely one of the best Lego sets; and improves upon the 2010 iteration of it.
