  1. hey, your first version looks actually quite good, but i agree, it doesn't look like the Goto Predestinatsia as it is a ship of the line, 18th century. The overall look of your version looks rather like a barque, though it has 2 cannon decks, mostly because the stern part goes up too high and too sharp for beeing a ship of the line. but dont get me wrong, it still looks like a very cool ship, just not like what was your aim, but this often happens to me as well. you could rebuild it if you want the Goto Pr. but ey, isnt it great to create smth new? it is your ship and it looks good =) you could also consider to build another ship without disassambling, or atleast put more qualitiy pics to your flickr of this current version^^
  2. hey, this ship looks really nice and reminds me of the admiral forster by, well, you^^ i have a question, can the mortar be turned around a little? because otherwise the 90kg canonload would hit the front rigging and sail, would it not?
  3. hey, this is going to be very nice and evil looking just as an evil pirate vessel. cant wait to see more. dont worry of parts. you can order loads quite cheap on bricklink.com
  4. hey, though i count myself also to that kind of rusty beginners as you did yourself, i allow myself to say that this already looks quite good. since your kind of ship is going to be rather big in comparison to standard lego ship sets, there should be enough place for doing some more sloping stuff. you could start with bringing the canons in different hight positions, this is quite easy, takes not many hard to get pieces and looks very good. you can see which good effect it has when looking at the "Spanish Sloop of War" from Sebeus Iniwum for instance. just google for pics, there are some in this forum, on brickshelf and on mocpages. and merry christmas and push on the good project =)
  5. This is brilliant, no doubt^^ i very much like it. maybe u can extend techniques to a big ship. your big pearl is still waiting for hull improvements^^ edit: instead of demolishing, there is still bricklink...
  6. i also have doubt about a 2000+ pieces dutchman. but if there is an official dutchman coming, i would be glad already, if it will not be that rediculous as the official black pearl they released^^
  7. This is what Lego is for: build your own interpretations, creations, ideas. you can build a black pearl, which looks completely different from the movie version. do anything you want, the only thing that matters is that it makes you happy with it.
  8. i will only believe when i see the sets in stores or maybe atleast on amazon =) come on, lotr? really? no pls...is lego going to be lazy thinking about own themes? although i personally really like potc and probably would get the lotr line, as it also would be some kind of smash for middle ages fantasy fans as me.
  9. I like the flames, that on tree on the left and the fish^^
  10. hello, i like how you put the light into your moc. i also had this idea when watching the movies few days ago and the pearl could be seen in the dark from side behind, i think it was quite in the beginning of the second movie. i just dont have lightbricks or any other equip for that or any experience with this in lego. so very well done^^ i know you didnt want to make it a real modell of the movie version or a real ship modell as in the ucs black pearl thread. i only think it could use some curves, try to moc it a bit cuvier^^ the cabin is great so far, maybe also a bit curvier, maybe the windows not all in the same hight position and the cannons as well...
  11. to make it look a bit longer and smoother, you could also lower the canon deck down atleast 1 stone. i saw you used the lego pre-manufactured doors to the cabin, but you could also built your own doors that dont need to be atleast 6 stones high. 5 would be enough that people can move their, excluding the high hats of the soldiers, but, give them other hats maybe for sea soldiers, marines, whatever...
  12. about the overall straightness - it does not look straight to me even not on the pictures. maybe try to put the widest part of the ship a bit more behind? but if you made the hull form as in the movie then this should be good also as it is now.
  13. Sebeus, great design, i especially love the implementation of the lion heads on the stern from mid 90's king castle set. 2 points for maybe improvement, though this is all very subjective: when you will have built the top deck, maybe the ship will appear a bit to narrow, just try to imagine, i said maybe....the other thing is, maybe there should be some optical illusion design on the waterline, because as it is now it is just to straight, you could of course just put the ship, when its finished, onto a water design plate with moc'ed water, or you put some plants, broken-look-alike design and so on at this line... edit: ok, havent seen the pics on side 3 so far. concerning the width this should be ok now, dont forget the lion heads^^
  14. i think, that if tlg brings lotr, then in 2013 at the earliest and based on "The Hobbit" movie(s).
  15. Hey Sebeus. Very nice ship, I love it with the Spaniards. May i post my Black Pearl in the certain thread - i used some of your techniques of your ships. Would name it. ( id have pn'ed you about that but there always occurs an error?)
  16. where is the picture gone?
  17. umm, how to see the pics???
