  1. I was just trying to respect what we kinda "agreed on " previously . It's not about my personal taste or concerns I don't really mind. I have plenty of time for TCs So let's jump to 2x 300g 3MOCs combination contest as long as it's not about winter!
  2. I mean, my original point on winter theme was about the "winter" part. I didn't wanted to question the consensus about "Let's build anything within 500g that relates to a simple theme" Now I feel like it's back to square one and I don't get what we are trying to settle.
  3. Well, that brings back questions about piece list and "more work" for taking pictures just like the A+B model idea. Interesting idea that maybe takes away some of the simplicity I thought we were chasing.
  4. I dont see what you mean. Any exemple?
  5. There was some vaguely similar theme in the early TC. I don't care, that was 10 years ago. If the two MOCs don't have to be somehow related there is still not much to push us to build for the contest. I mean a generic subject is great but without anything connecting the entries together I still have that feeling about the contest dynamic What if the two MOCs have to interact with each other? Like TC2 triple contest (2013) but with two MOCs and a weight limit. (300g each or 500g -600g total)
  6. True. And that's not necessary a bad thing. That also mean more entries. But with no theme at all there is not much to push people to create something for the contest . This changes the dynamic compared to usual TCs. Again, I don't want to be annoying and will happily take part regardless of the theme.
  7. Simplicity at its purest form! Let's go! After thinking 3 minutes: Couldn't it be an open door to qualify any small MOC already on the shelf or nearly finished as long as it has never been published?
  8. Thanks. It also reminded me the arctic theme we had 2 years ago at the same time of the year We have a consensus about 500g. I still like the idea of a "vague" theme that allows more people to build something related to their personal taste. some ideas: Desert (kinda the opposite of winter) History (something from the past like before WW2. old plane, old car, old machine) Sci-fi ( a bit close to space police but with wheels allowed it should be quite different) Emergencies (police, firefighter, ambulance, rescue vehicle... tribute to the classic city theme)
  9. After I slept on that idea I kinda have an afterthought about the Winter theme. Since most of the contest entries are vehicles and winter usually means snow (at least in the most northern part of the earth) I'm afraid it could become a little close to the tracked vehicle contest. The weight limitation is also pushing to use tracks. What do you think? Sorry, don't want to be annoying by questioning a approved theme... just wanted to share that feeling.
  10. The idea of making something small was originally with the idea of making A+B model, which is not a thing anymore. Also with the hope that it would help with having more entries. TBH I would be more comfortable with 500g to play with, but if smaller means more entries I am willing to do with less
  11. This is the 30th contest so TC30 300 grams "sounds" good...
  12. It could be the best way to have more entries. Let's go with that!
  13. I had a look at TC9 A+B rules. No piece list was required, so maybe there is no need for this after all... I also noticed that TC9 was pretty close to what we are heading for. I don't have a problem with that, I wasn't here at the time. Rules don't have to be complicated, just explicit enough. There will always be questions about any possible interpretation. Having just a weight limit is fine, having a B-model or not should be a requirement I think
  14. We'll still need to have a piece list because of the B model I guess. Another question was about "expensive pieces" like pull-back motors, linear actuators and pneumatic
  15. Soooo, holiday are getting closer. What about that contest?
