DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Did I miss a change in the Technic bat cycles release? I thought that was always supposed to be January? I know the Flash/Batmobile set got delayed but I never heard the same for this. -

There is even more than 5, kind of. You have the LEGO Batman movie one with goggles, then you also have bat-mite(the kind of). It is crazy how in minifigure series they made the Bat-mite, 1939 Cowl, and type 2 with goggles. The most recent cowl molds were only in minifigure series... And they can't do that for multiple sets(including a new Batman and two sets, one UCS, for Bale)??? -

The torso also had arms with gold printing on the cuffs. I don't recognize that so arm printing at least. I also don't think the dual-mold red and gold boots are that unlikely. They did that pearl silver for Fish eye or whatever that guys name in Harry Potter is(and that was in like a $30 set). I mean I'm also expecting something nice for Michael Keatons figure too. I mean I doubt they use the mold from the UCS sets. -

Just had a realization, remember when the old UCS tumbler came out they had a raffle for a special UCS batpod set. We should get a ucs patpod now that we have a new tumbler set. I am surprised we also haven't gotten it in minifig scale. It would also allow for a Harvey Dent or maybe Gordon minifigure ! -

Hey everybody, so this is the DC set WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THIS YEAR! This is a MOC I've been making for a while and finally finished and its the... Batman The Animated Series Batcave! I made it in 7 separate sections and this would have been the perfect set for the shows 30th Anniversary. I tried to make it as accurate as possible while including fun references and display features. It features everything from the Batcomputer, the T-Rex, Jokers Card, the Wayne Manor entrance on the back, and a spinning platform for the Batmobile. This along with the BTAS Batmobile would have been a perfect UCS Batman set as we have never gotten a big Batcave except the 66 one which is so unique. There are more photos you can see @ bricks_by_jim on Instagram. -

Assuming people have seen the Black Panther $350 head and shoulder bust set. This is pretty cool but expensive for what it is. But the very first thing I thought when I saw it was what if they did a Batman Cowl like that! The generic Batman helmet and 66 helmet were cool but if we got like a Dark Knight or The Batman bust like this new set I would freak! I honestly think it would also have a bigger fan base who wants to buy it. Saw some stats and polls on the new set and while people think it is cool very few people (as low as 5% in one poll I saw) were thinking of buying it. -

Well at least with the technic set there isn't a full "death" of the DC/Batman theme. I think DC sets will come back in the future, but I'm betting it has something to do with all the Warner Brothers struggles. I mean the DC movies have just been worse than Marvel, then the Ezra stuff, a big merger, and a rumor that WB can only put out Black Adam and another movie (the Harry Styles Florence Pugh one) because they are so strapped for cash. Lets hope all of the reorganizing was also impacting Lego as I'm sure there must be a work relationship to create sets/ideas that was disrupted. -

Oh gosh, 1414falconfan is posting 2023 set names for some marvel and Ninjago stuff... Please if there is any god of whatever type all I want is a post about some DC sets! Literally anything more than a set for a 4 year old will do! I am also amazing that Lego has kept the Marvel UCS so under wraps since it is supposed to come out in like two months. -

I wonder how Lego feels about having an Ezra figure in the set because Lego has pretty strong values. If they do take away Ezras Flash minifig those few that have already been made either for designing or early production would be super exclusive. I hate to say it because yeah Ezra has gone off the rails but I was looking forward to a new set with some new minifigs as someone who has collected almost every DC figure every made. Also I haven't been up to date with the other forum on marvel but a small part of me is holding out hope the Marvel $500 is actually DC, maybe that's why the leakers are sad/disappointed? ahhh probably not but I will keep dreaming of more DC sets, maybe I can just will them into existence -

I hate to say it but all this news may be good in the longterm. I've always thought that DC has needed a full reset after they didn't go with Snyders vision. While there were cool projects coming I'd rather have a new smaller and cohesive start to the DC universe than the crazy stuff and multiple universes happening right now. I just hope they leave Matt Reeves and The Batman ALONE! That series will be fine so Warner Bros don't you touch Pattinson. Although the bad news is yeah less Legos for DC for a few years I'm guessing, but if DC comes back in a good way then hopefully more sets. A side thought: if DC does this well they will kill Marvel. I like many others think Marvel is slipping, I mean the cgi the corniness, and just very bleh quality of a lot of what they put out. If DC can come back and basically have an MCU phase1/2 in the next 5 years then I think Marvel will lose popularity as it gets ever more complicated and massive. -

New set numbers and prices for superhero sets in 2023, reposting this from pricyplasticproduct on insta since no one has posted them in here yet. Rumored January first release: 76241 $15 (these have to be mechs since there are 3) 76242 $15 76243 $15 76244 $25 76245 $35 76247 $50 76249 $100 April 1st release 76253 $10 (probably a character pack like the recent thor+korg one) 76254 $35 76255 $100 Really hoping (praying, literally on my knees, DC and Lego please dear lord) these both are DC and Marvel sets. Although all of the numbers are in a row (although 76246 is missing? bigger set coming later ?) so they may just be Marvel :( unless anyone knows whether DC and Marvel sometimes go in consecutive order in set numbers. Again huge shoutout to pricyplasticproduct, no idea where he got it but still excited with this news -

This is so true. I feel like Lego doesn't think about DC and Marvel the same. If you look at Thor 4 you have a few small sets mainly with like monsters or a small-ish build and then just figures and I think they do pretty well. -

I kind of agree. While some of the ddcc exclusive figs were cool the exclusivity of them sucked. I just hope they keep doing the little sets. Like Ultrons throne, the OG action comics thing, and stuff like that. It can feature an exclusive figure or not but the builds are usually super cool! Either way it is a little sad. I always enjoyed seeing what new figure they made each year and I was lucky enough to win one of the DCFandome Supergirls but she is one of the least desirable of all the exclusive figs made for sdcc/fandome. -
So they revealed 3 sets + a brickheadz set. Pretty cool especially the mech suit but I wish the helicopter was a bit better, might just have to wait for more detailed photos tho

Getting excited for SDCC starting tomorrow! Really hoping we get more reveals for sets, maybe for the Flash movie that one set or I'm sure there will be Marvel Stuff. Also hoping we get the $500 reveal as well as some SDCC exclusives. I've heard from leakers that SDCC exclusive figs are extremely unlikely this year but I'm hoping those leak-stoppers at Lego just kept them hidden! Or at the very least they better do a little set like they've one in the past (like the Action Comics sets, or Batman rooftop, etc) -
One of the new sets is one of the twin-prop helicopters right? Just had the thought about it because Lego is so against War stuff (I mean... besides Star WARS right) and how they might find issue making it. Just want to see photos of that, because I WANT one! Also I'd bet more reveals start tomorrow because of SDCC

Hopefully we will see a reveal at SDCC, especially as LEGO has unveiled the Office and Atari sets in recent days. It seems that those new people hired to stop leaks did too good of a job gosh dangit! Also a $500 set for Marvel or DC I feel like has to be a location. There are very few ships in those themes that would be good at that massive scale. Only vehicle that is really big in either universe that would make some sense is a new helicarier, can't think of a vehicle equivalent DC would do. -

Weren't there strong rumors this would be a Marvel Hulkbuster set? Which would honestly be MASSIVE for $500. I seem to remember the initial posting for the $500 set just said superheroes. Especially with the Sanctum set maybe it will be DC... or they are going all in for Marvel :( -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Sooo this thread has gone way off topic. Honestly I'm betting DC/Batman sets will have a revival in the next few years. Warner Bros is probably shifting the movies around as we speak but big stuff coming soon. I mean The Batman 2 will generate hecka hype and new sets. Also the OG Batman wave was in 2005/2006 and I swear to god if Lego doesn't give us a 20th anniversary theme I'll be irate. Think about Harry Potter. They did the anniversary sets and redid old ones. Think of the way they made Hogwarts modular and customizable. That's what the Batcave needs. They could give us a big $100-150 Batcave set with 2 or 3 accompanying sets which add on to it. Anyways I always end my messages with some hope! Lets just be supportive of what DC stuff they do put out so we get more!!!!!!! Positivity People ! -

Dang you are going to make me tear up, thanks so much for the support, seriously! I just don't get why DC doesn't go for a big Batcave, I have to imagine those sell well, also do a Wayne Manor!!! Even if less DC fans buy it other non-superhero fans may get it because it is a dope fancy house!! -

So I can't add the image but take a look at this Batcave MOC I made: https://www.instagram.com/bricks_by_jim/ It isn't even close to being done but this is what LEGO needs to make. It will be a full Batcave based off the old animated show and will be able to separate into upwards of 5 sections. It could be sold in smaller bits or as a whole but this is the scale LEGO should Make a collectors edition Batcave!!! -

Lego is big on diversity and inclusion recently so while The Flash does have its issues (my man Ezra seems to be going crazy lol) but if it does well I could totally see Batgirl getting some sets. I mean the movie will have Keaton so you've got the Batman aspect to sell but it could have sets that have a female lead! Which we have only really seen in Wonder Woman (in terms of DC sets) Also a firefly figure could be pretty cool, much like a vulture figure with wings. It was mentioned to do older retro comic sets (which I would love) but DC and Lego are missing out on a huge market: the animated series!!! Not only Batman but Superman and Justice League. While these shows aren't exactly popular with todays kids they were all very solid. I mean BTAS is basically included in the best Batman media we have ever gotten. Its very classic and retro, has a bunch of characters with awesome designs, as well as having many episodes to draw from. -

I've been reading this forum for a bit and I hate to see all the pessimistic feelings about DC but its understandable. Although I think Batman sets will continue to do well and be released. We may have a year or two gap with fewer sets but by the time of the next Pattinson movie I believe it will be better. I am also anticipating that we will get a Collectors addition version of his Batmobile at some point in the future, probably when the next movie comes out hopefully. But lets stay optimistic! I've loved Batman sets forever and I hope Lego continues doing a great job and we just have to hope that Batman still sells!
