Any idea if there will be a GWP with the Batcave? As I have thought about the set I will buy it at some point, but without a GWP (Batman themed ofc) it is hard to rationalize spending $400 on release, when I could wait a few months and likely get it for $300. They could do some really cool GWP for this set though. Like for the UCS Batmobile 89 they had a really nice minifig version. Imagine if they did a small section of Wayne manor like they did with the Eiffel Tower GWP. Anyways hopefully someone has heard a rumor of this because without one this set is NOT a day 1 buy!

the set also appears to have some light functions. The video lego posted on instagram looks like there is at least one, possibly more, light bricks above where the suit display is. This is at least something and from the quick video the light brick provides some nice spooky not-too-bright light to the batcave (which I am a fan of)

an interesting detail in the Batman figure (that isn't really surprising but) it has the batman Returns logo on it! This is probably coming out at about the same time as the batcave so fingers crossed we see images soon!

@Falconfan1414 any idea on when pictures will come out? especially considering the set is supposed to come out at the beginning of June?

so news came out about Batcave and batmobile set from falcon fan. Batmobile set apparently is 1989 based with Batman and Joker... so no flash set? Makes some sense to distance themselves from Flash/Ezra while still making a set which kinda fits with the film/merchandise. But we saw those flash suit picks, there may be a super rare unreleased figure for flash now!

Is the Batcave being based on Keatons movie based just on the penguin minifig? or was there a rumor saying it was Keatons? I could still se a comic cave with some minifigs being based on movies.

I totally agree. I think we will see plenty of references to different Batmen or Batman media. So like a reference to the animated series or the 66 show seem very in character for lego. I mean if they give us a suit display with a few Batsuits what if we get the nipple suit

This is a good point about Talon. While I hope they wouldn't go with basing the whole set off of the New 52 comic run that could give us a cool Bat-mech suit (despite a minifigure already being based on that mech in the comics). Also I wouldn't count out another superhero outside of the Batfamily - ie someone who batman works with whether it be JLA or low level crime related. I mea we haven't gotten a new superman in a minute but I could see them also doing the Question, Dr Fate, or the Atom, etc.

Minifigure Idea: disco nightwing! Clearly I would want most of the figures being accurate and cool but disco nightwing would be HILARIOUS while also being canon (as I believe this was the first rightwing costume) I would also love an Ace the Bathound of Bat-cow.

Honestly it had to be hard for LEGO to choose what to include. From the trophy room, to gadgets, to vehicles there are sooo many options. I am also guessing we will get some easter eggs to old batman sets, don't know how but like in the new castle they had a micro version of the classic yellow castle. Not that specifically but I would hope they can think of a cool easter egg. I am just very curious where they get their inspiration from. I mean LEGO has worked with Jim Lee on the art piece so I wouldn't be surprised if they talked with him (or another iconic Batman creator) to get some ideas.

I agree, I don't think it will be 100% of Wayne manor but I feel like it should include the room with the grandfather clock. Especially if we have brickbuilt walls there can be some small stairs leading to the grandfather clock. Also since they will likely have civilian versions of characters it makes sense to include some of Wayne manor.

Had a thought on minifigures. Since this is a Batcave it may make it hard to have villains. Obviously I am expecting some cool easter eggs in terms of a trophy room but villain figures will likely be scarce. If they make a bat-prison (which is super common in the $100 playlets so you can include villains) I think it would look odd, as most Batches don't really have a prison section. Granted, they will almost 100% include Joker, Harley, or another iconic villain but I really hope they do it in a good way. (IE we don't need some silly villain vehicle or bat prison to take away from the Batcave).

The rumors say its 'enclosed by walls' so at the very least I am expecting a back wall and possibly side ones. I really hope there is a but of Wayne manor in this set as well. Also really hoping for it to be more generic and based on the comics so it can include tons of figures.

Oh god it could be for either the movie of BTAS because they could just do a Batmobile mini build... Batmobile poly bags in the last 10 years range from 45-70 pieces so this may fit :(

That is a GREAT catch... could this be a lead in to the big $300 set. I looked back and all posts I see just say 1992 Batman so @NeutralNoodle makes a great point. Especially because a poly bag for the Keaton movie either means 1) figure with rubber cape (only in UCS sets, would tank its value) or 2) a new Keaton figure, which could make sense because it may be the figure in the upcoming flash set.

Odd to do a poly bag of a movie they have never made sets of? I loved the figures from the UCS Batman 99 sets but I always thought looking back they could have done 1992 characters with the Batmobile (as the Batwing was only featured in the 1989 movie I believe so characters for that set had to be from the first movie) But that being said, they may put the exclusive Batman figure with the rubber cape in the poly bag and it has to include penguin or catwoman (right? unless lego is trolling us)

Lots of thoughts above about potential BTAS figures. While I get why people would want a character other than the phantasm it hopefully would give us a new mold (her like knife hand thing) and hopefully a new mold for mr freeze. The freeze figure from the Lego Batman movie had the dome that attached to the chest piece but in BTAS it has the dome with no large chest, so hopefully lego would find a way to make that work. Plus if you look at the BTAS characters I think a $300 set would give us a bit of dualmolding (for example check out robins arms, multiple colors could be used). Especially after seeing what they did with the lord of the rings set I now have a lot of faith in what a $300 DC/BTAS set.

Technic Batcycle from the Batman should be March 1st release. The Flash Batmobile set is Summer (but depends on the movie). I don't think anything else is for sure. Also with the Flash set I assume some people have seen the photos of toys from the movie with 'Dark Flash' (I think that's what the toy box called him, but seems like Reverse Flash or Black flash, kind of new 52 design.) Of course the set will include Batman (Keaton) and the Flash but they love to have a villain in a set like this so Dark Flash seems likely.

aaahhh good catch. That totally makes sense then why they would include the Phantasm as a character !

I feel the same, I feel like this is out of nowhere for lego to make. But the figure selection sounds amazing and I'm sure we would have phenomenal printing and new molds. The timing is also odd because BTAS had its 30th anniversary... last year (2022). Like this would have been a phenomenal way to celebrate that but they release it now like ??? I hate to be this guy but I have been designing custom lego sets and about 95% of them are based on BTAS or Batman Beyond. Like the BTAS batmobile is arguably the most iconic one along with the batwing.

preliminary photos have leaked of this supposed Gotham skyline. Looks a little iffy but there have been soooo many leaked images today. If its real I like it but again, not sure how much everyone wants a BTAS Gotham skyline, I'll get it but they could've done sets based on BTAS, like the the custom sets I've designed

This is a very fair point. Although with marvel mechs they at least give new figures, so they wouldn't be all bad. Falcon also post on ig from another source that the Batman the Animated Series Set (Gotham skyline) might be real. It would be a big leap if LEGO goes for this. I mean I love BTAS but a $300 ish set for Batman when the theme has been under $80 sets since the UCS tumbler seems risky. Although if we get a Gotham set I would be hype but I feel like it may have the issue with the Black Panther mold, a big cool set, but expensive and not lots of demand.

the discussion about what the new sets will be based on seems pretty fair. It will probably be generic batman stuff but I am betting it will also deal with general DC popularity of late. What I mean by this is our king: Dick Grayson! If y'all are up to date on comics DC has been killing it with Nightwing and soon the Titans will be replacing the jsutice league. Along with Teen Titans go (I know a very kiddy show but still relevant kinda) a set with Titans characters could happen. I think LEGO recognizes that DC doesn't sell as well without Batman but I hope they try and expand that to the bat family as a whole. We don't need batman in every set but if you include cool Batgirl or robin, etc figures then I think they will still do well.

With news of a new wave can we get a new Cowl mold? I feel like it's due time for a new addition to the mainstream cowls, or at least a Pattinson cowl.

I think it is all just restructuring. I've seen many people online upset at the Wonder Woman announcement but I think its because Wonder Woman 3 would hav to connect to the first two and since it looks like a soft reboot I think they will just come out with a new Wonder Woman movie more focused on their new continuity.
