  1. Sooga! The Sandcrawler is just amazing. Revisiting an early Mando episode with a well designed smartless playset is the second highlight of this year for me. The AT-AT scenes were my least favorite so the set doesn't really appeal to me, bar the INT-4 and the remnant snowtrooper. I'll probably bricklink both. Looking at the sales on Amazon the SB sets are failing hard. Perfect tieming to release a fan favorite set that avenges this disaster.
  2. Finally, 2027 will be the last year of Lego Smart Bricks! And it's not due to the lukewarm sales. Apparently the chips contain materials banned by the new European RoHS guidelines, such as dumbium and unnecessaryum. Also they don't contain enough kalkite. Bye.
  3. Can't wait for the game! The hero ship looks like a fat Razor Crest, it even has similar yellow accents. Could be a fun MOC project to modify the M&G set. Meanwhile Lego will probably do a Jabba bust instead.
  4. I think the eyes were done better on the helmet but that's just me. My concern is that they redo all helmets into busts with figs, which is boring and is going to take away slots for other potential sets like a certain imperial vehicle with a name I can't quite remember...
  5. When the highlight of the year so far is a polybag, you know it's a weird year for Lego SW. Glad to get Cobb Vanth and Bane in a single set cause that might be my only purchase. Then I see sets like Tintin's Rocket and you know they can still design well, but they choose not to? Big Bird Razor Crest is ok but I would just get it for the figs, we already had a reasonably priced amazing UCS set. And molded creatures need to come back. I love the challenge of brick building them but these are unique, I think kids really cherish them because they are different. As a kid in the 80s I didn't grow up with Lego SW, I picked it up after my dark ages, so I don't have the same bond some here have. But I played with plastic dinosaurs vs my Galaxy Explorer crew and they remind me of that.
  6. Recruiting Anthony Daniels and using his divine influence to promote BS just isn't proper.
  7. I wonder how smart the smart brick can be. For example, is the communication protocol good enough to customize the behavior and sound, like a downscaled Mindstorm. At least it would be more creative.
  8. Maybe the smartbrick didn't do too well during cold and snowy weather testing, there's no Hoth sets!
  9. I agree that SP will eventually go down the same way Vidiyo did...quietly. I expect probably a dozen SW sets that I will gladly skip unless they make a new vehicle or location. I gotta say the throne room play function is a nice throw back to the 2005 ULD set, and with the return of the Bounty Hunter Pursuit, nostalgia is setting in. Imagine if Count Dooku makes an appearance... Shuttle might be tempting if bigger than the last, but seems unlikely. Budget for Jango's UCS is therefore secured. Strickly business.
  10. At first I thought the ships chasing the RCV2 could be TIE Avengers! But he lasers are the wrong color and the wings seem thinner. Still, I'm telling me there's still a chance.
  11. "I have built into it a flaw so small and so powerful they won't notice it until it's too late." That sums up my feelings about this set and where the theme is heading. Or maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy. I'd rather get 3 Jack Sparrow's floatable devices for the same price. Can we get a TIE Avenger yet, because THAT would be awesome.
  12. Absolutely relieved this Death Slice MBS design leaves me unimpressed. Unfortunately that means waiting and hoping Galen can make himself indispensable again one day. Also very surprised they didnt try to include some sort of trompe-l'oeil circular cover to hang over over the whole thing, to increase the display value and keep away space dust.
  13. Not before we get L3-37 please!
  14. At last, the UCS Wicket reveal! Pretty sure he was chubbier in the movies. Can't wait for Giant Wicket vs UCS AT-ST funny dioramas. Well, there's always K2 coming out in August, just gotta fix the eyes.
  15. CTT having the last set of wheels sticking out is very disappointing. Shame because I like the compact build, just not the price. Too bad, I really like those marines. MTT is better executed imo, and I prefer the unique CW colors. Worth getting since I don't think they'll ever make another one. UCS AT-ST suffers from the same limb thickness syndrome as the buildable B1. No amount of details can fix this for me. All in all a good year for my wallet it seems.
