well my city is built in the post apocalyptic north and my backstory is a huge city came under attack and a force from space known to them as the protectors, came and surrounded as much of the city as they could, with sheild walls. but really they were the heralds of the harbinger under my control and used the humans to create starships from the nearby ore rich mountainy region. that will explain the mix of real cars etc. and spacecraft. as for indy- aging vehicles? steel...
