  1. Here's may latest Sonic MOC, again based on Sonic 2's Aquatic Ruin Zone. I'm quite proud of this one, even if the building techniques are nothing new, but I like how the forced perspective turned out with respect to the source material. The seed was the background mountains. Here's the full flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCS6F6
  2. The other "modules" (they're not standalone) are ready and built except for the return path, I've published a picture of the whole thing on flickr. It took that long simply because life got in the way with me moving and having twins, and then not having time to finish it properly. Think of it as the total time spent tinkering with the idea. So I settled for this mini-loop in the meantime. It has been tested to be baby-proof and is quite sturdy, you can flip it upside down and shake it everything will hold except for the hovering platform. Getting the loop-de-loop to work reliably was a real challenge that took me quite long to figure out in that context, as it was difficult to fit a mechanism powerful enough to push the balls vertically, along with the ball path crossing itself. Here's the catapult WIP on the green plate, and I tried propelling balls with various spinning wheels (see the technic stuff on the left of the table), but it wasn't reliable enough and more difficult to fit in that space for vertical launch. I have more Sonic-themed vignettes in the works, not all GBC modules, and I've already posted one on flickr as well.
  3. Hello, this thing is 8 years in the making, from the first concept in studio to this picture. The goal was to capture the level curves, but not necessarily be 100% accurate. Think of it as a 2.5D reimagining of the 1992 game. Here's the full album with a video demo: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCRTAT I actually have a much, much larger GBC loop (see the flickr album), complete with dual pipes and a working loop-de-loop (with vertical launch), but the return path is not yet fully connected, and I will never build the entire background for this. I've included a few WIP pictures of the full loop at the end (Saturn V for scale), since I don't know when I'll have time to finish it. All sections are two sided with mirrored greebling, which is mostly game-accurate. So in the meantime, I settled for this little vignette, complete with background and lighting. And I figured, why not make it a small GBC loop? This is part of a classic Sonic levels series, of which I'll post more soon, I have 2 more ready and 3 more scenes in the works.
  4. Duplicate by mistake while posting. Sorry
