  1. ... I just had a horrible thought in the back of my mind of the possibility that Lego'd release Green Loontern as a SDCC DC minifig. Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? No. Just the sort of thing Lego would do? Absolutely. Saw Space Jam as a teen for the first time so I definitely don't have that nostalgia for it (although I do have it for Back in Action from '03 which is also... Yeah, I get that mindset ); to me, it's a feature length Jordan/Nike commercial where the best things to come out of it are the soundtrack and Lola for more female representation in the roster. ... Dear God, whatever argument I was actually gonna make just went out the window when I looked at the sequel's wiki and saw that it, in its production history from '97 on to LeBron signed on, had been considered to be Spy Jam with Jackie Chan, Race Jam with Jeff Gordon (race car driver, that title though; oof), a golf movie with Tiger Woods was pitched (probably Golf Jam, if I'm sensing the theme right) and Skate Jam with Tony Hawk was actually planned to start development directly after Back in Action before that movie crashed at the box office. ... Yeah, this movie was never gonna be anything else than a photo copy of the cinema zeitgeist with a sports icon and I almost feel naive for hoping otherwise. D2C buildable Duck Amuck Daffy? Hell, I'd buy it.
  2. The new movie looks like if the OG Space Jam was getting made in a world after the release of both Wreck-It Ralphs, The Emoji Movie and Ready Player One (throw together a bunch of things and properties people can go "OH! I KNOW THAT!" at) and 3D animation was finally more cost effective. Wasn't expecting a new Roger Rabbit or something but... Yikes, this is looking disgustingly by the numbers. We can only hope that the box office numbers doesn't reflect on the Lego sales; I want that Series 2 for at least a Duck Dodgers, damn it.
  3. What, the source of the torso (set or elsewhere) or Lego's inevitable reaction to it getting out?
  4. More disappointed with the lack of leg and cat ear printing than a new helmet tbh (fine with the ears, helmet might be too bulky), especially considering we're finally getting a screen accurate purple suit. Although... It's Lego so expectations should probably always be tempered before one lays eyes on official images. Besides, if Legacy sets end up selling well, there's always a chance for an unmasked T'Challa later down the line. Final BP fight, small set, one of those train-cart things, unmasked Killmonger and T'Challa? I could see it.
  5. ... I know it's a meme at this point but I'd almost want like an Art-style Dobby's sock with a little plaque under it that just says "Dobby is a free elf - Dobby".
  6. Was just thinking that a second sign wouldn't make much sense without Elmer. For real though, hoping for all it's worth for a second series if only because of variants which would most likely mean Duck Dodgers.
  7. Absolutely amazing for what it is! (apart from Road Runner who is just... There's no way that was gonna look good without a brick built solution; that's a mascot walking around a theme park there) Was not expecting Lola to be the one to jump out as a favourite but that is an absolutely bang on representation imo. The one thing I'd kinda wish for is for Bugs to have a "DUCK SEASON" sign though.
  8. Doc Ock mech set is nice; prefer the Mixel-style Ock arms for better flexibility but probably the best looking claws we've ever got! Also kind of nice if this means that the transparent web pieces are standard going forward; nothing wrong with the white ones but I'm never one against variation and... It kinda gives the illusion that the web they're shooting is thinner? Noticed something looking at the images for the set: They're using a flat/metallic silver cone piece as a connector for the transparent web pieces here and they used white cones for the Monster Truck/Spider-Lair, even though the cone usually matches the colour of the web/effect pieces they're used with. Apparently (according to Bricklink) the current cone piece in production has never been done in trans-clear so far. Dunno how many will even find that interesting but it's just something I picked up on.
  9. Slot wise, I'd happily take Elmer Fudd with a giant butterfly net or a money bags wielding Sam over an overproportioned Tweety who'll look like Big Bird's slightly younger brother. Seriously though, shame ofc but fully understandable from both Lego and WB's point of view; people will rage with the guns, people will rage without the guns. I'm just happy getting Marvin the Martian as a minifig, that's more than I ever could've hoped for.
  10. Really? She did occur to me but I didn't even bother suggesting it 'cause it felt like too deep of a cut compared to, say, someone like Granny but... Legit stumped me a bit. Then again, never looked closer to see that she's OG from the 30s', thought she was a product solely of The Looney Tunes Show. That's a choice then. Now we just wait for pics for official lineup confirmation; April inbound!
  11. Cheers for the game and good luck with Charlie; it'd make a great set!
  12. Maybe they're all actually minidolls.
  13. Thanks! Guessed as much but you never know with Lego. And yeah, I'd personally love a whole comics Spider-verse line with the Inheritors (too dark, well aware) but you take what you can get. It's absolutely astonishing though that we got Spider-Ham and even Pork Grind before we got any version of SP//dr considering Lego's love of mechs.
  14. Does beg the question if Daffy's the black one we'd complain about if gone (3) or Porky's friend (8). Just remembered that Duck Dodgers is a thing so Daffy's definitely a prime candidate for friend but if that's the case, who's number 3? Yeah, I'm thinking waaay too much on this but it's kinda fun to actually have something to guess on.
  15. Had a thought concerning the Doc Ock mech set: It'd make a perfect little "mini-theme" of mechs where you'd get a Spider-Man mech (talking different/alternate versions of SM like the Miles one) vs a villain mech; kind of like Mighty Micros but... Mighty Mechs. Say Sp//der vs Green Goblin, steampunky Noir mech vs a better Rhino mech than the one we got. Is it dreaming? 100%, alts would probably be too desirable not to put in more expensive sets and, to my knowledge, the Spider-Army doesn't really have that much exposure outside of Spider-Verse atm. But, you know, just a thought. Speaking of the Doc Ock set though, is there a price on that? (yeah, I know, somewhere in the depths of these pages, there probably is)
  16. True, true; just covering my bases. Makes sense as a slot ofc (popular character and all) but scaling wise, even with short legs, against Sylvester; oy. Yeah, the wording on 10, 11 and 12 is really clever 'cause it could easily be interpreted as both Taz-Wile-RR or some variation of RR-Wile-Speedy. Depends entirely on who's also hungry.
  17. I do, I do want to. 1. Bugs 2. Lola 3. Obvious black one is Daffy but leaning towards Pepé Le Pew (as in people complain that he's cut from Space Jam 2) 4. Sylvester 5. Could be Granny, could be a misgendered Tweety 6. Marvin 7. Porky 8. If 3 is Pepé, then Daffy - if not, Speedy 9. Elmer Fudd (game as in hunting) 10. Taz 11. Wile (rule to never catch the Road Runner) 12. Road Runner
  18. It's definitely better than nothing, you just don't think "shrunken Ant-Man" and "final Endgame battle", right? But yeah, it's probably a budgetary thing, parts wise and new mould wise. One can always hold out hope for an updated Giant-Man either in a subsequent complementary final battle set or for the next Ant-Man and the Wasp movie. Funnily enough, I was in my dark ages at the time of CW but I still picked up the airport set partly because Giant-Man looked fantastic.
  19. Thanks, that's... Certainly a choice.
  20. I'm not even gonna pretend I kept up with everything yesterday in the end so thankful if someone could clarify; do we know which Ant-Man comes with the final battle set - minifig, microfig or brick built giant fig?
  21. Oh yeah, I was talking about that set being "inspired" by the CW Flash what with the villains, except for the fact that KF obviously draws inspiration from elsewhere. Because she's blue. (unlike, say, the Power Man in the Marvel set who's seemingly directly adapted from that Spider-Man show) Never thought about it before but a Titans Tower would actually make a great non-D2C set; different rooms throughout the T, maybe even make it modular to switch the floors in the "stem" of the T around. More so, from a profit standpoint? Loose modular floors as separate sets, one Titan each, to build up the "stem" and then a bigger set for the cross on top with an motorcycle for Robin as a sidebuild. Boom, there, Teen Titans wave, profit? Like, I remember OG TT running on Cartoon Network back when I still watched that and, like you say, the property's obviously still around in many forms so it just seems such an obvious choice. I'm with you on Doom Patrol. It's a shame, really, 'cause absolutely everything on that show (and in the comics) could be a great, creative contender for a set.
  22. If one could dream, wouldn't it be great if BP in the Dragon Flyer and BP in the final battle set were a regular version and a charged up version, especially considering the new helmet? (If one could dream ofc) I was thinking though, wouldn't it make sense that the D+ set is FatWS in this our year of postponed sets? It was supposed to premiere before WandaVision after all and, unless something major happens in it that sets the tone for Phase 4, I can imagine Marvel being a bit more loose with making merch for it right out the gate than WV considering that show was initially supposed to tie straight into Doc Strange 2 and therefore might've been kept more under spoiler wrap a la Mando. Just a theory.
  23. I figured it was a licensing thing at first (CW's apparently split 50/50 between Warner and CBS, had no idea) but there are other Arrowverse toys as well and of course the SDCC minifigures which means that maybe they could if they would? It's just... Baffling; the Arrowverse alone has like 30+ seasons and they seemingly never even tried. On that note, I can only hope we'll get something Suicide Squad at some point though... Unlikely since Deadpool kinda set the precedent so far on R-rated properties in the Super Heroes line. Yeah, I was thinking about that as well. Like, the closest for DC would probably be Speed Force Freeze Pursuit, 76098, with The Flash, Reverse-Flash and Killer Frost (who's... blue, but sure) and even then 80% of the set is a helicopter for Cyborg. Oh, and it seemed like they were going for it with the Jokerland from 2015 with Beast Boy and Starfire. And Teen Titans Go! is, apparently, still running so it is rather peculiar that they won't even touch those characters now, regardless of the style of character (thinking Jokerland designs compared to the TTG! Dimensions design).
  24. I'm sure this is a question that's been answered several times over the years but is there a reason Lego doesn't make sets outright based on DC adaptations? You know, the CW or whatever animated show is running (which there are less of than I thought at the moment but surely reruns are a thing)? It's obvious Batman has proven immensely profitable popular but is it to the extent that sets that doesn't contain a slightly new variation of the same old bat-suit with a repeat villain and a rehauled bat-vehicle just doesn't sell? I can't be the only one to imagine that a Teen Titans set or two for example would do well.
  25. I'd say there's a high chance for Lola, partly for female representation in the lineup and partly because I don't think they'd skip out on her when she's probably bound to have a more noticable role than other characters in the new Space Jam movie (we're talking compared to minor characters here, not saying she'll outshine the likes of Bugs or Daffy).
