The new helmet is very versatile, we can get infinite visor options. This is its great merit. Better or worse it is a matter of personal taste, personally I have no problem mixing the two versions, and I hope to see more and more in the future! I was comparing the images of the two armors: they have in common 2 legs, 2 arms, 1 torso and 1 head. I don't think there are enough reasons to say that the models look alike. The design is very different 🤷‍♂️

Two similar mechs might also suggest a new molded head, or something similar. In theory the pilot is inserted in the torso, these models should not use the minifigure head ...
