We only knew Monkie Kid was a thing from leaked listings being found first back then too, with parts showing up shortly after, might be the same situation here as well.

Shame you can't get the hair or torso. I was looking forward to the minifigs.

It's probably unlikely that TLG will venture much farther than Journey to the West for this theme, but I'd like to see minifigures of their takes on more characters from Chinese mythology and folklore, lots of cool parts and designs they could come up with.

It'll almost certainly never happen officially, but what would be some other mythologies and legends that would be interesting to see depicted in the Monkie Kid style?

The biggest problem for me would be the new minifigures being incompatible with older ones.

So is this theme still happening, or was it just a rumor that went nowhere?
