FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Three, Bad Morning, Y'all
Parvani Poodle replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I'm back. Very concisely, I'm not too sure on voting Hyacinth. I'm sorry but I can relate to being late with votes-actions whatever. Not sure that her lackadaisical reaction to it was appropriate, but I'm not seeing a Scum acting quite like she did. As for Francezka, I'm not reading her very well. She's on my suspect list, but what I find more suspicious is how Emeric jumped on her with an easy justification -- a case has been made by Benicia earlier, she has already penality votes, let's get rid of her. Somehow I find this scummier that the actual case against Francezka. Not to mention Emeric's poke vote on Bixby back on day One, coincidence maybe, maybe not. I double-checked, the day isn't supposed to be over yet, but sorry for posting if my math is wrong. -

Still catching up with the day thread, but in the spirit of avoiding more penality votes.. Vote: Emeric Elephant. I will be back in a moment with comments. -

I have a feeling Gilford didn't understand the Rolestopper's action. It's a powerful protective role, and it would be just a bit strange for a Townie to describe it as "a pain in the ass". What would have been achieved by protecting the Bus Driver? I think he meant that the Bus Driver should preferably be blocked (and I tend to agree! ), but the Rolestopper as I understand it wouldn't have helped. Anyway, I fail to see how this adds up to a motive for Scum to kill Gilford. Another theory would be that Scum had a Strongarm variety of kill action, and they never actually intended to kill Gilford. But that would have been mentioned by Omrom, I suppose? He only said " Scum get deiw factionaw kiww ". -

I don't know how many Scum we're going against, but say that had all the informative roles but the important one, Investigator, I could still see them wanting to block the investigative night actions. Anyway, it's all very speculative at this point. Yes, it does appear less likely that Benicia would be scum, following your logic. But... if she's the truly the Trickster, what are we going to do about it? Are we really better off without any night actions? I know they must have win conditions of their own, but I can't make up my mind about whether they would benefit from helping Town, Scum or just turning everyone against each other. Actually Holbrook argued against you being Scum, and he's being pretty convincing about it. Still waiting to hear from Hyacinth though. Oops sorry I missed your question... Yes I was told I was successful. Like in "successful performing my action". I can't tell if I actually deflected anything. Like the night before, I was told my Bus Driving was successful but the Forest God didn't mention whether any action had been switched. You're correct, I thought the Hooker only cancelled the Virgin effect, but it would appear it's also a Blocker. I definitely wasn't blocked last night, so what's going on? -

Ok, now that we have verified alignments to work from, let's see what Dragon Baby Hater Bixby had to say during his short stay among us. Day one, a single post and a vote: Not much here except a justification for bandwagoning on Mobley. Day two: What does Bixby protecting Benicia tell us about her alignment? Was Bixby playing safe and going for a townie target, or did he chance it and protected a fellow scum? Could he have lied about his night action? He could have targeted someone else, but it would have been pretty risky to lie about his target with so many roles in play. Maybe he didn't use his assigned action and killed Caladon instead. Again he could have been caught lying, but one would expect that there's a price to pay for going about killing people at night. Did he really have a protection action anyway? The Trickster would know if he lied about his assigned role though, yet nobody attempted to cast suspicion on Bixby yesterday. Unless last night's Vig is actually the Trickster, but that seems to have been ruled out. Of course. In retrospect, it doesn't even make sense, because Caladon was confirmed townie. Caladon and I couldn't be part of the same Scum team. Not sure what to make of this. Are we to believe that in truth Scum did have most of the informative roles on night One? I doubt it, because he was scum and he didn't have an investigative role. I'm inclined to believe Bixby here. As Scum, Bixby wouldn't know anything more than we do about the Trickster's real motivations. A late day vote, either a token vote for a fellow scum or a last minute attempt to misdirect the night actions. And of course there was some pressure to cast any vote because the day was ending. So what to take home from all this? I am left with mild suspicions on Leatrix and Benicia, and it's all very WIFOMy. Ironically I was getting a rather positive vibe from Benicia until now, which is why I attempted to protect her from harmful actions. What do I know. If she turns out to be Scum, then I'm probably Scum too. -

Just a shot in the dark at deflecting potential dangerous actions (reading bombs or whatever) from someone I read as more townie towards someone I'm rather suspicious of. -

I believe that. I was only wondering if that cleared Rutherford of being Neutral. -

+1 Now we're going somewhere! Is it true though? What do we know about their win condition? Ok so who blocked you? For my part, I was Deflector and I deflected actions from Benicia to Emeric. Not sure if anything came out of it though. -

So what do we have so far? Corrina's night action (dwagon lullaby) was corroborated by Benicia Shainen's night action (mirror) was corroborated by Marlowe Anyone else? The way I see this, confirmed actions couldn't be the scum killer last night, unless the other player is lying too. -

Vote: Extend the Day Sorry for not being around much lately, I will try to do better from now on. Going back to Gilford, the simplest explanation of what happened last night is that I saved him from being killed by Scum. I know I didn't lie about my role, and I didn't blab about it to anyone, so he's off the suspect list as far as I'm concerned. Well not being able to investigate Marlowe is not Marlowe's fault, you're making it sound like it's part of the reason why you're voting for him. And he did vote for the hippo you're keeping an eye on. On the other hand, scum poke-voting scum would be a reasonable Day 1 strategy. -

Let me try to understand this... You wondered whether Gilford could be the Scum killer, right? No one other than him claimed Vigilante, and we don't know if there are third parties who can kill at night. If Gilford was the Scum killer, then he killed Mobley, and Caladon was actually the Vig but didn't get to kill, but someone else actually tried to kill Gilford and ended up killing Caladon instead? It implies that Gilford knew that he was killing the Vig, so it seems rather far fetched. -

How does that work out? If Gilford is the Scum killer, are you implying that he tried to kill himself but got switched with Caladon? Slight correction: Final Vote tally (Day 1) Mobley Mouse: 6 (Hyacinth Hippo, Corrina Cow, Benicia Bear, Caladon Crocodile, Bixby Bunny, Emeric Elephant) Hyacinth Hippo: 2 (Marlowe Monkey, Leatrix Lamb) Gilford Goat: 4 (Parvani Poodle, Franczeska Fox, Holbrook Horse, Shainen Sheepdog) Bartosz Bulldog: 1 (Gilford Goat) Rutherford Raccoon: 1 (Bartosz Bulldog) Non-voters: 2 (Mobley Mouse, Rutherford Raccoon) -

For what it's worth, I was told my Driving was successful. So if I managed to deflect the Scum kill away from Gilford, it does suggest that he is Town... or at least not-Scum. And for the record... Final Vote tally (Day 1) Mobley Mouse: 6 (Hyacinth Hippo, Corrina Cow, Benicia Bear, Caladon Crocodile, Bixby Bunny, Emeric Elephant) Hyacinth Hippo: 2 (Marlowe Monkey, Leatrix Lamb) Gilford Goat: 4 (Parvani Poodle, Franczeska Fox, Holbrook Horse, Shainen Sheepdog) Bartosz Bulldog: 1 (Gilford Goat) Rutherford Raccoon: 1 (Bartosz Bulldog) Non-voters: 2 (Mobley Mouse, Rutherford Raccoon) -

I'm upset because Caladon ended up Town and my plan possibly back-fired. Gilford was among my short list of suspects yesterday. Caladon seemed more like the quiet, flying-below-the-radar player that would make a good Scum kill target were he Town, or a good Town Vig target were he Scum. Either way, faced with the difficult task of choosing targets basically in the dark I decided to deflect whatever was thrown at Caladon towards Gilford. I certainly didn't expect Scum to target Gilford who was either 1) Scum himself or 2) a good lynch candidate on Day 2 based on the amount of votes he got yesterday. It does look like either my plan back-fired, or Scum got to Caladon before I switched him. Uh... don't mention it! -

Argh. I was the Compulsive Bus Driver. I switched Caladon and Gilford... Caladon is dead... Does it mean that he was killed before I switched them, or did my Bus Driving get Caladon killed instead of Gilford? The day ended yesterday before I got a chance to answer this. I assumed the same roles would come back today, because I didn't take part in the previous adventure and it didn't occur to me that the Trickster would mix things up even more. It would seem that I was wrong. -

Although there could be some weight to the suspicions voiced against the Mouse, I'm not sure one would knowingly lie about the details of a role. After all, someone else will likely get the same role no later than tomorrow and will be able to verify Mobley's claim. It would be silly to lie about something that can be debunked so easily. Unless there's something major about the role that can't be shared publicly so soon? You got the shitstorm part right. Definitely the latter. -

Ok thanks for settling that. So it's the equivalent of being vanilla for one night. Voting is mandatory, and I don't feel there's much to go on at the moment, but if I had to choose right now I would Vote: Gilford Goat. That "we should just all claim, wouldn't if be fun" comment early on was just slightly... either devious or naive? Probably the latter but it's the only hunch I have for now, with things being quiet and players missing and all. -

Yeah, it wasn't clear to me whether these are mock actions or something more important. Slumber Party, perhaps all night actions are voided? -

If we only get one action each, claiming a modifier will 1) tell Scum that one doesn't have a major role; and 2) tell Town that they should probably protect someone else. All in all, I still think it's best to keep the info secret until, as you say, the role becomes strategically important. -

Sowwy for being late, family business.. This is a crazy circus. It will take a little while for my poodle brain to understand all the implications of this mad setup, but I agree that the more is revealed before the night the better scum will be able to plan their actions. Not sure I get what Baby Dwagon Lullaby and Slumber Party are used for though. Did I miss something? -
