FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Four, The Name of the Game
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Before considering thaaaaaaaat, you should have thought about who was a likely taaaaaaaarget for the bomb (on night two) in the first plaaaaaaace. I think Hyacinth, unlike Rutherford for example, was someone not likely to be waaaaaaaatched. Your role claim caaaaaaame after Holbrooke said he watched Emeric aaaaaaaand Emeric claimed he beheld Hyacinth tracking Holbrooke. So, you kneeeeeeew you weren't tracked or beheld and that Hyacinth wasn't waaaaaaaaatched. You even waited for Benicia to explaaaaaiiiiin how the vengeful part of the roles wooooooorked until you claimed targeting Hyacinth. I'm inclined to think you either made uuuuuuuuup the bomb story as a justification for targeting Hyacinth or you didn't try to defuuuuuuuuse any bombs at all last night. There is also the choice of taaaaaaaargets for the watcher, beholder and tracker. Was that, as Benicia metioned earlier, intended to confiiiiiiiiiirm their actions? How exactly did Rutherford waaaaaaaaant you to join in? Holbrooke chosing to watch Emeric staaaaaaaaaaands out to me (and is something I asked about earlier). Is there anything we can concluuuuuuuude from this night action triangle? Bomb defuser was a role that haaaaaaaaaad to be handed out. Bartosz speeeeeeeculated a bit on whether the trickster would be able to give themselves a roooooooole, but even if they could, why would they choose boooooooooomb defuser for themselves (WIFOM aside)? -

I assumed the bomb would work as a delaaaaaayed kill with two shots at defuuuuuuusing it. I didn't consider, like you and appaaaaaaarently Shainen too, that it would affect other roles targeting whoever held the bomb laaaaaaast night. From the claims we've heard, it seems like neither Bartosz nor Rutherford were targeted by aaaaaaaanyone last night (well, one of them was most likely killed by a baby dragon hater, but I think it's saaaaaaafe to say that that's the one that didn't have the boooooomb). So what made you chaaaaaaange your mind and (even label it "stupid") about your interpretaaaaaaaation of how the bomb would wooooooork? The bomb was plaaaaaaanted on night two though, before a lot of the discussion centered on Hyacinth yesterdaaaaaaaay. Didn't you consider sooooooomeone like Rutherford, who was as close as you could get to confirmed "not scum", to be a better taaaaaaaarget? And why didn't you mention who you targeted right awaaaaaaay this morning? -

Considering the amount of investigative actions at plaaaaay last night, a manipulative role would make sense. Now that you mention the claimed block on Gilford, we also haven't heard aaaaaaanyone report they were blocked last niiiiiiight. I caaaaame to that conclusion because we haven't seen votes disappear yesterdaaaaaay, so I ruled out both vote thief roles. I just reeeaaaaaad that in the Big Book of the Forrest God. So, my conclusion that Rutherford must have beeeeeeeeen the vengeful watcher may indeed have been preeeeeeemature. We haven't gotten a watcher's reeeeeeeesult from the "twilight business" that the Forrest God had to take care of, which could mean Rutherford has stooooooolen someone's vote for todaaaaaaaaaay. -

What made you target Emeriiiiiiic? I caaaaan't check exactly wheeeeen these words were saaaaiiiid ((it says "x hours ago"), but why did you waaaaaiiiiiiit for Holbrook to report his results before you reported yoooouuuuurs? We all heard Hyacinth claim tracker yesterdaaaaaaay and since she won't be around to confirm her target, it's a safe claaaaaiiiiim to make. Do you knoooooow she targeted Holbrook or are you gathering this from Emeric's behoooooolder result? Oh, and Franczeska claimed to haaaaaaave the baby dragon lullaby yesterdaaaaaay. Knowing she was an emaaaaancipator, I can't see a reason for her to have lied about thaaaaaat. And you couldn't find a better taaaaaaarget to defuse? Even if Hyacinth maaaaaanaged to convince you, why do you think she was a likely target for a booooooomb? As Holbrook already pointed out, your interpretation of how the bomb woooooorks sounds like a very weird justification for waaaaaaasting your action. Like you had to find a taaaaaaarget, but it couldn't be Rutherfoooooord or Bartosz. So, if I understand it correeeeeeectly, you and Benicia didn't specify a target, but would get to choose someone if you died? If Benicia is right about Rutherford also having a vengeful aaaaaaaaction, that would leave vengeful watcher for him. Let's hope we hear something useful from thaaaaaaat soon. -

Whaaaaaaaaat? Four emaaaaaaancipators? What a meeeeeeeeeeess. It looks like the defuuuuuuusers didn't manage to defuse the booooooomb, the baby dragon haters killed and the flying pumpkin hit an emancipator as weeeeeeell. I was the reeeeeestless spirit. -

But it was important enough for you to claim it yesterday? Waiting for my reaction to prove which point exactly? And why didn't you share that result on day two or earlier today when I made the point that Benicia was the only one claiming to have received a result from the baby dragon actions so far? You seemed all to happy to lynch her based partly on faulty logic that you helped create by not claiming to have attended a baby dragon slumber party. The two of you are not just being unhelpful, you seem happy to cause confusion and let us waste time trying to figure things out. And worst of all, I didn't get to bathe the baby dragons. I'm going to stick with my vote for the first two days. Vote: Hyacinth Hippo "Watching things happen", yes, that's literally all you do. Nope. But right you aaaaaare, weird sentence it iiiiiiiis. Bartosz has on and off been working from the assumption that the trickster can't assign themselves a role. If they couldn't assign themselves a role, they'd have to claim one of the non-mandatory roles (as the trickster has to assign the mandatory roles) or the role of one of the dead players. With so many mandatory roles (13 for 15 animals, excluding the trickster themselves), that would pretty quickly give them away. -

Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why do you keep coming baaaaaaaack to your assumption that the trickster cannot target themseeeeeeeelves? I think Holbrooke highlighted an important paaaaaaart from the Forest God's rule book that says you caaaaaaaannot target yourself unless noted otherwiiiiiiiise. It seems like this can only refer to the trickster assigning roles to themseeeeeeeelves. Only Caladon, Corrina and Mobley did not get a maaaaaaaaandatory role on night one, unless the trickster hid behind one of their reeeeeaaaaaaal roles, which, with Corrina having sang a baby draaaaaaagon lullaby to Benicia and Mobley being a confirmed emaaaaaaaancipator, realistically only leaves Caladon's roooooole. As I said earlier, they would run out of places to hiiiiiiide rather quickly. And what if day one would have turned out to be a claim paaaaaaaarty? Then the trickster would have been outed alreeeeaaaaaaady. I think we really need to let go of the assuuuuuuumption that the trickster cannot assign a role to themseeeeeeeelves. Another point that has been mentioned by Holbrook is the absorbing of aaaaaaaaactions. I already made the point that it is highly unliiiiiiikely that the trickster gets to use the absorbed action on the saaaaaaame night. Why then let the action fail if it is being absoooooooorbed? Wouldn't that also give them away too eeeeaaaaaaaasily? It would explain why we haven't seen aaaaaaaanything inconsistent in the night action results being reported, no matter how hard we tryyyyyyyyy. Indeeeeeeeed. We're back at square ooooooone with Benicia. What we've heard so far is not evidence she is a baby dragon haaaaaaater or the trickster, but it by no means clears her eeeeeeiiiiither. And whyyyyyyy didn't you mention this eeeeaaaaaaarlier when everyone was reporting what haaaaaaappened last night? It's your faaaaiiiiiilure to contribute anything useful that makes you staaaaaaaand out. -

I understand it's not concluuuuusive and the possibilities you mention certainly crossed my miiiiiiind. No strings attaaaaaaached as far as I know. Were you notified of the lullaby doing anything but singing to baby draaaaaaaagons? I understand the "25% chance" roles serve a different puuuuuuuurpose, but the "vanilla" baby dragon roles seem identical to the fruit vendor rooooooooole if they notify their recipients. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Three, Bad Morning, Y'all
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Am I the only one who sees an inconsistencyyyyyyyy in these night action results? I had to look it up, but from what I understaaaaaaaaand from the Big Book of the Forest God, a hooker normally blocks a plaaaaaayer from performing their aaaaaaaaction. I know I asked earlier, but Parvani: were you succeeeeeeessful? If we can trust all role claims, Bixby either had the watcher or encryptor, with the other role left unassiiiiiiiigned. Regarding the baby dragon roles, so far we've had fooooouuuuuur. If we are to believe what the recipients have claaaaaaaiiiiiiimed, it seems like there is one "25% chance" role (lullaby and bedtime story) and one "vanilla" role (slumber party and bath) eeeeeeeeevery night. Franczeska claims hers was blocked, but if the recipients get notified they were taaaaaaaaargeted, we should have also heard of an effect from the recipients of Mobley's slumber party ticket and Hyacinth's bathing aaaaaaaaaction. Mobley didn't drop any hints as to who the recipient might beeeeeee, except for telling Franczeska he could hook her up with a tiiiiiiiicket: I certainly don't trust Hyacinth, but she promised me I'd get to bathe the baby draaaaaaaaagons. Why claaaaaiiiim if she wasn't going to use it? She hasn't confirmed she actually targeted meeeeeeeee last night, but I haven't heard from the Forest God that I bathed adowable baby draaaaaaaaagons. And then there's the point of the fruit vendor rooooooole, which would then serve the saaaaaaaame purpose as the "vanilla" baby dragon roles. -

Oh my, you all got up eeaaaaarly today. Baaaaaaaaaad morning for the bunny indeed, but a very good morniiiiiiiing for us. Nice wooooooork Rutherford. I (successfully) gave Rutherford a piece of fruit last night because I felt like he deserved it after his comaaaaaaaa and all the successful yet unsuccessful role stopping he did yesterdaaaaaaaay. Were you succeeeeeessful though? I wasn't told I got to baaaaaaaathe the baby dragons last night as you promised yesterdaaaaaaaay. Did you taaaarget me and were you succeeeeeessful? Mobley claimed to have baby dragon slumber paaaaaaarty and that it "does nothing to any other night activities", and while we won't ever get to know his taaaaaaarget, no one reported atteeeeending a slumber party (imo, Mobley would have been able to give someone a ticket to a slumber paaaaarty before he got killed). Corrina claimed to have baby dragon lullaaaaaaby and that it was a 25% chance at protector, Bernicia said she saaaaaang a lullaby to baby draaaaagons. Hyacinth claimed to have baby dragon baaaaaaath, said it wasn't "particularly useful" and said she would target me, but I haven't been told. Franczeska claimed to haaaaaave baby dragon bedtime story, a 25% chance at voyeur, but was appaaaaaarently blocked. That's one 25% "useful" and one "not particularly useful" claim per night on the baby draaaaaaaagon roles and more interestingly only one report of the recipient actually getting told of an eeeeeeeeffect. Given that 13 roles haaaaaaaaad to be handed out on night one and that the baby dragon haters know each other's rooooooles, I doubt the trickster can't assign themselves a role as weeeeeeeeell or they would run out of places to hide rather quickly, as your anaaaaaalysis demonstraaaaaaaates. Also, don't forget that the trickster absorbs roles that target theeeeeeem. Given the limited length of the night (and our slightly different sleeeeeeeep schedules), it seems unlikely that they get to use those absorbed roles the same niiiiiiiight. If it's really diabowical this time 'round, maaaaaaaaybe they get to assign themselves an ability (and an alibi) aaaaaaaaand use one of the absorbed abilities every night. The trickster likely has to get us aaaaaaaall killed, so I don't necessarily think it's faaaaaaar fetched to at least consider this possiiiiiiiibility. What maaaaaaakes you think the trickster was not bloooooocked yet? Handing out the roles is a day aaaaaaaaability, so that would not be blocked by niiiiiight abilities. -

Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
My point is that is doesn't confiiiiiiiirm you as an emaaaaaancipator, because the baby dragon haaaaaaters also get to use roles the trickster gives out. Outing your role todaaaaaay is only helping the baby dragon haaaaaaters. I or anyone else you taaaaarget would confirm giving a baby dragon a baaaaath in the morning. No need to know in advaaaaaance. You're forgeeeeeeeting the constant fence-sitting I mentioned alreeeeaaaaady yesterdaaaaaay. It must hurt. -

The results seem consistent to meeeeeeee. Marlowe blocks himself by trying to block the mirror, hence the unsucceeeeeeeessful result. Rutherford is appaaaaaaaarently told he successfully rolestopped himself, which should haaaaappen if the action is deflected onto himseeeeeelf. Considering Rutherford's comaaaaaaaa, I assume his target was randomly seleeeeeeected, but I still can't wrap my head around to how Maaaaaaarlowe selected his target. As I saaaaiiiid earlier, you don't block someone based on gut-feeeeeeeeling. I agree with Bartosz's analysis of the night-action results, but baby dragon haters could be hiding everywheeeere: behind unsuccessful investigative actions, knowing they switched those off, or behind successful proteeeeeeections of animals that weren't kiiiiiilled at night. We should deeeeeefinitely revisit the analysis tomorrow morning though. Since there are no inconsistent night-action claaaaaaiiiims, I think we should look at daaaaaaaaytime contributions. In that respeeeeeect, we're not really maaaaaking the most of the extra time in the daaaaaay, are we? I see the same animals as yesterdaaaaay laying low. I have hardly heard any useful contributions from Bixby, Emeric, Franczeska, Hyacinth and Shainen today. I am going to stick with my vote from yesterdaaaaaay and Vote: Hyacinth Hippo She still seems stuck on the saaaaaaame fence as yesterday and her baby dragon baaaaaaaaath claim, although I don't expect it to be a lie, screeeeeaaaaaams "confirm me as an emancipator" to meeeeeee. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Two, This Is Insanity
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I could perhaps understaaaaand investigaaaaating someone based on a a gut feeeeeeeeeling, but blocking? I'd expect you to block someone you were suspicious of. If you were afraaaaiiiiid to block an important aaaaaability in the hands of an emancipator, you could haaaave decided to block someone without an important abiiiiiiility, like Benicia who claimed to not use the falsifier role on night one or Mobley who claimed that baby dragon slumber party didn't do anything impooooooortant. As I saaaaaiiiiid yesterday, I don't think it's a good idea to claaaaaaaiiiim (and I have my doubts about it not being useful, after what Corrina claimed about the baby dragon lullaby). The mooooooore the baby dragon haters know, the better they can plaaaaaaan, especially with 15 roles for 14 animals tonight. You seem desperaaaaaate to get "confirmed". And why exaaaaaaacty would the trickster try to give themselves awaaaaaay this waaaaay? I don't assume their win condition is to get themselves lynched. -

I could seeeeeeee myself doing this baby dragon baaaaathing. So relaaaaaaaaxing. The insults and ankle biting are nothing compared to what I geeeeeeet from those royal braaaaaaaaaats. Vote: Extend the day More time for scummy baby dragon haaaaaters to slip up and more time for anaaaaaaalysis. Hmmm... gut feeeeeeeeling... What made you decide to not target Hyacinth then? Not quite sure what to make of yesterday's voting paaaaaatterns. Given that Mobley turned out to be an emaaaaaaancipator and Gilford likely is as well (it'd take some pretty far-out explanation for him to be a baby dragon hater), I'd naturally expect scum to be on their bandwagons, but wheeeeeeeere? I'd aaaaaadd Hyacinth your list. After not contributing during the morning, it seemed like she saw an easy lynch coming on Mobley and she jumped on the chance to start a bandwagon. It was not reeeeaaaaally an analysis. I completed Bartosz's overview to conclude there were no inconsistencies in the claims and aaaaaaasked some questions. Did you want to use your ability to confirm yourself by taaaaaaargeting someone? That has me puzzled as weeeeeell. They either knew or suspected you were the viiiiiig or they had the role watcher and knew they wouldn't be seen taaaaaargeting you. That, or Parvani's lying and they targeted Caladon instead. Talk about actions backfiring. Why did you consider targeting Shainen though? Gilford made a good taaaaaarget for the role watcher though. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day Two, This Is Insanity
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Baaaaa. Let's first update Bartosz's overview: -------------------------------------------------- Scum get their factional kill Scum get a Switch (the switch blocks one type of role, active (Blocker, Vigilante, Protector), informative (Tracker, Watcher, Investigator, Voyeur), manipulative (Mirror, Bus Driver, Rolestopper) I believe they chose to block informative, hence my failure to track and Leatrix's failure to watch. Compulsive Tracker * Bartosz Bulldog: Tracked Benica Bear. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Watcher * Leatrix Lamb: Watched Mobley. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Investigator * Holbrook Horse: Investigated Marlowe Monkey. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Voyeur * Emeric Elephant: Voyeured Mobley Mouse. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Blocker * Marlowe Monkey: Block Shainen Sheepdog. Unsuccessful. Compulsive Vigilante * Gilfoard Goat: Killed Mobley Mouse. Successful. Compulsive Protector * Bixby Bunny: Protect Benicia Bear. Successful. Mirror * Shainen Sheepdog. Seemingly Successful in reflecting Marlowe's block and Rutherford Raccoon's rolestop. Compulsive Bus Driver * Parvani Poodle: Drove the bus on Gilford Goat and Caladon Crocodile. Successful. Compulsive Rolestopper * Rutherford Raccoon: Rolestopped Shainen Sheepdog. Successful, rolestopped himself instead. Falsifier (Can make one one-shot Action FALSE, recipient gets three options) * presumably Benicia Bear, and presumably nothing? Normalizer (reverts a falsified Action back to Normal) * Hyacinth Hippo: Corrina Cow. Role Watcher (sees which role targets a person, including if it's been falsified or not)* Franczeska Fox: Watch Mobley. Successful. Saw that he was targeted by the vig killer. Encryptor (If given to Scum, they are able to communicate during the Day) Virgin Compulsive Hooker Hated Loved Priest *indicates required, the Trickster must assign these roles 20. Baby Dwagon Lullaby Corrina Cow: Benica. Successful.21. Baby Dwagon Slumber Party" Mobley. He dead fam -------------------------------------------------- With eeeeveryone but Benicia awake now, I see no glaaaaaring inconsistencies in the claims made. Seems like the baby dragon haters managed to successfully switch off inveeeeeestigative actions and Marlowe's block apparently baaaaaackfired and blocked his own block, which is backed up by Rutherford's "mirrored" rolestop on Shainen. I would appreeeeeeciate hearing a little more justificaaaaaation for some night action choices though... Why Shainen? I assume you targeted Mobley for the same reason I did? Why Marlowe? Why Corrina? Why Mobley? If you suspected him of being a baby dragon haaaaaaater, why didn't you vote for him yesterdaaaaay? And if you didn't suspect him: why did you kill him? Why Mobley? Again, I assume you had the same reasons I had. Rolestopper stops any roles performed on the target. It's not a roleblocker. WIth Rutherford claiming rolestopper, Caladon probably haaaaaaaaad one of the non-mandatory roles. If he was a virgin, any night-kills the coming night would be blocked. Looks like that would only affeeeeect the vig though, with the scum kill being a bomb that only goes off on night three. -

This is horrible. Two dead baby dragon emancipators. Who will bathe those poor baby dragons now? And those flying spiders sure are scary. I hope Rutherford will be fine. I got compulsive watcher yesterday and decided to watch Mobley. I figured he would be a possible night action target, which would then allow me to verify claims made today. Unfortunately, he was targeted by a killer, but even worse, the Forrest God told me I was unsuccesful. -

FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day One, That One Guy is Dead
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think we have to be careful with claiming. Not because the falsifier action is likely to do a lot of damage tonight, provided it is in good hands, but because it only gives the baby dragon haters more information about who holds the remaining roles. Hmm, I read it as underlining the importance of knowing exactly what the roles do. As I said earlier, I was clarifying what Holbrooke said about the switch role. When I saw the list of roles the trickster could hand out, it seemed logical that everyone gets one role, given the number of roles that must be assigned at the number of animals on board. What Bartosz said made me at least consider the possibility that someone could get more than one role. Because Omrom presented them separately from the initial list of roles, I too assumed they would not do much more than give the holder some baby dragon fun. I guess we will find out in the morning (if Mobley is being honest and survives the day, that is). Do you think he's lying about having the ticket to the baby dragon slumber party or about what the baby dragon slumber party role does? I don't really see why he would falsely claim, given that the role could end up with someone else on another night. I guess that's a possibility. Assuming the recipient doesn't need to pick a target though, it can logically only be something that does something to the recipient themselves at night. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day One, That One Guy is Dead
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I didn't see a village idiot day role in the list... but aside from that, why do you seem dead set (pun intended) against lynching? Because of the way they were presented by Omrom, I did not even consider that the roles were actual useful actions, so I am inclined to believe this. He did say that we should "surely" claim and I too have a hard time believing he meant anything else, but at the same time I doubt a baby dragon hater would want to draw so much attention to himself this way. So, is or isn't it a reason for you to vote for Mobley? It's a bloody shame Bixby and Rutherford are showing so little interest in our wool fur hunt for the baby dragon haters. We'll just have to wait and see if and when they show up. I agree with Marlowe's reasoning for voting Hyacinth. As also pointed out by Benicia earlier, that fence she's on is a nice comfy place in the middle (of her big hippo bum, her butt crack must hurt though). Vote: Hyacinth Hippo You sure are a powerful Forest God, extending days like that and all. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day One, That One Guy is Dead
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I agree with not using the falsifier action tonight. Depending on which roles are affected (presumably informative roles), it may prove useful later in the game to mess with roles which we think are held by the scum though. I think Bartosz was onto something considering the number of roles in relation to the number of animals on board, but if you are right about everyone only getting one role tonight, then it's probably best that no one claims to give the scum as little to work with as possible. That even goes for Loved, Hated and Priest. The possible impact of these roles will be bigger on later days though. And I agree, claiming Encryptor is definitely not a town tell. As I said, I was responding to what Holbrook said about the scum benefiting from knowing who has what role when using the switching action. They obviously don't need to know who has what for that. Omrom explained what they do... (not much). There are quite a few animals who are on the fence, not adding much to the discussion, or simply not paying attention... And can someone wake up Bixby and Rutherford please? -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day One, That One Guy is Dead
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hmm, what you said made me think. Considering that there are 13 roles that have to be handed out by the trickster, it's possible that some of us might get more than one role. Do you think the number of roles will decrease when more of us will die? It will be real madness on later nights when it doesn't... In the morning, yes. I was trying to clarify why Holbrook mentioned the block/switch action, as it seems irrelevant for them to know who holds what role, although I agree that the more they know, the easier it will be for them to plan their kill. I'll keep you safe trunky, but I'm afraid we won't get much sleep tonight. -
FABUpunk! Mafia II–Day One, That One Guy is Dead
Leatrix Lamb replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
How does knowing who has what role, especially considering most roles have to be handed out by the trickster, relevant for the scum? They don't have to block a particular animal at night, they can simply switch off a category of roles. You love a bit of secrecy don't you? I feel so liberated now that I'm away from those pesky brats. I'd love some of that big trunk tonight.
