LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Velika314 replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow! I did not expect to see pictures this early of Series 6! The minifigures look great to me, but the alien and the minotaur are my favorites. So many new molds! -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Velika314 replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really like the look of the new lego tie fighter and (if it's not outrageously priced like some of the recent SW sets) I will definitely get it. I love the nice borders around each wing. -
Yes, maybe I should have used the Universe mode. The parts selection was poor at the time I made it so some things don't look exactly how I wanted them to.

Jurassic Park---Tyrannosaurus rex's attack
Velika314 replied to benny's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I love the T-rex! The road looks very nice as well and the whole scene is very well done. The car behind T-rex is a nice touch. -
Which picture would that be? I don't remember seeing a picture of the BP with handcuffs in it.

Wow! I always liked the classic castles Lego used to make and this MOC is a great representation of what a much larger Lego classic castle would have looked like. Great job 'frogstudio'!

Any comments on the model?

Great review! I was disappointed when a Bulk 2.0 wasn't made, but Bulk 3.0 makes up for it. I like his "Wolverine" look with the claws and how he doesn't look as blocky as the 2.0s did.

REVIEW: 2508 Ninjago BLACKSMITH'S SHOP
Velika314 replied to pikafunk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review! I think I'll pass this set up. I'm mainly trying to get all the DX figures and golden weapons. If that 2012 teaser means a new green ninja, will there be a new golden weapon? -
After seeing the Black Pearl at Comic-con in comparison with the QAR I have decided to wait on getting it. The set looks okay, but it is clearly designed for kids and not TFOLs and AFOLs like the Imperial Flagship. Plus the set is much smaller than the QAR, which in the movies is not accurate (since they used the same hull). I hope Lego can pull off a ship the size of the Imperial Flagship, with a similar amount of detail, for the PotC line. Maybe they could make a UCS-type Black Pearl for the AFOLs? I would definitely get that if TLG pulled it off.

REVIEW: 2254 Mountain Shrine
Velika314 replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Your right, it is metallic gold. I just fixed it. -
I went to comic-con and saw this set, so I decided to pick it up as I was excited to see the new sword. This is my first review here on Eurobricks, so comments and criticism are helpful! Set Name: 2254 Mountain Shrine Theme: Ninjago Released: Summer 2011 Pieces: 169 Price: $19.99 Place of Purchase: San Diego Comic-con Let's start with the box: Box Front Box Back This is pretty much your standard Ninjago box. One thing I noticed was that on the back of the box it shows an interesting way to display the sword on top of the shrine. Instruction Booklet This shows a random page from the slightly bent instruction booklet. Parts List Sorry if it's too far away to see. Parts, DSS, Cards, and Instruction booklet The Parts This has a very nice variety of parts, but I find the spinner to be somewhat useless. Pieces of Interest I haven't seen these pieces in these colors in sets before. I'm really liking the dragon sword. The flame coming out of it's mouth is a nice touch. The Cards The Ninjago sets with the spinners tend to get cards as well. These fit into the game with the spinners I believe. Treasure! Metallic gold tiles! The Minifigs We get Kai DX with his detailed golden dragon printing and a skeleton dummy figure in tan! Kai, like the other DX figures, has his name printed on the back of his torso. Unfortunately it is covered up when he has his mask on. The Build The base of the shrine is laid out. It's obvious that there will be some kind of opening/closing feature judging by the hinges. The sides are built up with a nice green roof structure. The central tower is built and looks as if it can store the chest. The weapons and training materials are added to the sides. An spinning axe machine of sorts is built .. and added to the side of the shrine. The set is complete! Extra Pieces Just your usual bits and pieces are left over. Features The sides are open and the axe machine removed. Ta-daa! They close to make the shrine look more compact. I suppose the spinner is a feature as well. Conclusion Playability: 3/5 Having only 1 play feature (not including the spinner), which is opening and closing outcrops of rock, the set is lacking. Bonus points for including a treasure chest which gives Kai a purpose for going to the shrine. Design: 5/5 The set is very stable and cleverly uses the red piston-like pieces to achieve height and a nice look. Build: 4/5 For a $20 set the build is satisfying, but no outrageous building techniques are used and it is fairly symmetrical. Parts: 5/5 A great selection of parts and a chance at the fire sword for those who don't wan't to spend the money on the Fire Temple. Price: 3/5 This set would be better if it were $15; the price-to-parts ratio is a little off otherwise. Overall: 4/5 A great set for any Lego fan. 2012? What is the future of Ninjago? Only time will tell...

Favorite Official Lego Mini figure?
Velika314 replied to Ben Blackman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Probably this guy -
I've been working for a while on a Computer Room MOC that is part of a larger house. This is the first room of the "Large House" series I'm starting which may or may not get a roof when I'm finished. This set is wheelchair accessible (I wanted an excuse to keep the set 1 story tall) and is supposed to have hardwood floors. I have purchased and built this set. And here is the LDD file: Computer Room.lxf Brickshelf gallery when public Comments and criticism welcome.

It appears that the reason Iron Man's head is so big is that he has a Tony Stark head underneath it... Now I wonder if the front of the mask comes up or pops off at all...
