  1. - I said that I didn't believe the rumor but ok.
  2. If this was the case then we wouldn't be getting the line with most sets from the same era every year and instead we would've gotten something closer to the 2010/2011 line. They were still based on specific scenes from specific movies. The whomping willow destroying the flying car only happened in the second film, Harry and Ron only went to Aragog's lair in the second film, Hermionie only set snape on fire in the first film ect. I did read a completely different conversation because this one forum isn't the only place where rumors are discussed. If no one at all believed these rumors, far fewer people would be spreading them and making them.
  3. I think the reason people are so keen to believe rumors about a ministry set is that it's completely baffling that LEGO is only producing $50 worth of OOTP sets. For context SS/PS had $140, COS had $85, POA had $200, and GOF had $190. The 2020 sets we have will give us $50 worth of OOTP sets, $200 for HBP, and an additional $70 for COS. Clearly LEGO thought $85 worth of sets wasn't enough representation for COS and they needed to release another set before waiting for the 2 movie waves to end, but if they thought $85 was too little then why are we only getting $50 for OOTP? Personally I'm guessing that the sets we know are releasing are the only sets releasing (except for maybe a GWP) but it's understandable why people are desperate to believe the rumors we know are false.
  4. I think there's three possible versions of Ron we could get: Quidditch, casual (which might fit more with the Slug club figures) or in Hogwarts robes. It's important to remember that this is a $100 castle set with 971 pieces (about 100 more than the GH) and 8 known figures (possibly more). 5 definitely have new and exclusive costumes (Harry, Hermionie, Neville, Luna, Malfoy), Slughorn will need at least some new printing to differentiate him from the Bricktober version, Malfoy, Lavender, Neville, and maybe Ron (depending on wether he is in the Burrow set) are all exclusive characters (in this age range) that will need new faces and I'm sure LEGO won't be able to reuse faces for all 4 of them. That's a lot of new exclusive prints in a set that also has a really good price to piece ratio (for a castle set that will likely have some large panel pieces). With all of that (and possibly another unknown figure) I'm not sure the budget would allow Ron to get new prints for the quidditch robes or his casual clothes.
  5. I wonder how much overlap there is between people who bought the microscale set and people who've bought the minifigure sets. Also a lot of posts I've seen about the micro set have been from adults who are casual fans of Harry Potter. I'm not confident that that market will buy more than the one Hogwarts set. That set is incredibly classy, very iconic, and looks like a complete display (despite the fact that it isn't the whole castle). Would a microscale Diagon alley set look nice on a shelf next to the Hogwarts set? Honestly I'm not sure it would. I also feel like many casuals are satisfied by the one castle set. I also doubt anyone who didn't buy the castle set would buy a micro DA, if a casual had to choose between purchasing the castle or DA I would guess that they would choose the castle 95% of the time. It's just a more recognizable location. There's no way it will do as well as the castle and I'm sure LEGO realizes that lightning probably won't strike twice. I'm not sure it would even possible to make a DA in scale with the micro Castle large enough to be $400.
  6. Having them all in the same costume has nothing to do with accuracy but with presentation. We only have 1 figure of Ron this wave (which will almost certainly be him wearing his Hogwarts robes). It makes sense for Ron to look out of place with the Harry and Hermionie in that set because he was in the scene the figures are based on. However Ron wasn't out of place with Harry and Hermionie for the entirety of the fifth and sixth films. Kids and collectors do still want at least one set of the trio from this era that look good together which is why LEGO has to include hogwarts versions of Harry and Hermionie somewhere in this wave. LEGO did something very similar to what I suggested last year in a set you mentioned in your post. Hagrid wearing his Yule Ball costume in the carriage set is completely inaccurate but benefits the line as a whole as a whole.
  7. I thought of that too but apparently Padma was a ravenclaw in the final film and she's a ravenclaw in the LEGO video games. So I guess her being a ravenclaw is cannon in LEGO.
  8. I think it's important to have at least 1 full golden trio wearing costumes from the same scene for each wave. For wave 1 we had them all wearing Hogwarts robes and for wave 2 we had them all wearing the casual POA costumes, and Ule Ball outfits. For wave 3 our only options are Hogwarts robes and main casual wear for both the fifth and sixth films. Ron doesn't come in any OOTP sets so we can't get his costume from that movie. The only way we could get Harry and Hermionie in their HBP casual wear would be if they were included in the Burrow set which I at least really hope isn't the case because that's our best opportunity to get more Weasleys. This leaves Hogwarts robes as the only option. Plus I think having the trio in this age range wearing robes is essential anyway because it's those versions of the trio that have been in the upper right corners of the box since the first wave of the reboot. So obviously the robed Ron can appear in the AT set but Harry and Hermionie have to appear elsewhere, and if they're sticking to film continuity the only option is the ROR set which is why I don't mind them being there. Luna on the other hand doesn't particularly need to have a Hogwarts robed variant in this wave (I wouldn't mind waiting a few more years for this variant considering we already have 3 versions of her in the reboot). Plus the robed version of her has a new unique torso so it isn't useful for just getting more ravenclaw torsos in general. I would easily replace her for a figure of Padma Patil so we could still get another Ravenclaw torso (a repeat of Cho Chang's) and a new faceprint (instead of Luna's torso print) which could potentially be reused for a Ule Ball version of Padma in the advent calendar. Hopefully I have now appropriately explained my desire to remove Luna from the ROR but keep Harry/Hermionie. Personally though if I was given free range to change whatever I wanted about the mini figures in every set (and I had the budget to do so) I would make the Harry and Hermionie figures in the forbidden forest set wear their Hogwarts robes instead of the accurate casual OOTP costumes (that way we don't need to include them in the ROR). I would then move the robed Ron from the AT into the ROR, this not only makes a figure of Ron at this age available in a set under $100 but it also frees up space to include Zambini in the AT set. This leaves us with 2 more D.A. members to add to the ROR so I would throw in Padma and Hannah Abbot or Ernie Macmillan. That way we get both another ravenclaw and another hufflepuff student. I'm sure it would be quite expensive for LEGO to make all of these new figures that casual fans wouldn't be very interested in and that (along with making the forbidden forest set inaccurate) is probably why we've gotten what we have. Sorry for writing such a lengthy post but I'm sure some of you don't mind a diversion from the usual Diagon alley speculation while we all wait for these sets to be revealed in a few weeks.
  9. If anyone we'll get Ginny but I'd love to get a figure of Zabini. I liked that the 2018 line would pack in a random new student we had never seen in LEGO before with the castle sets (Seamus and Susan Bones) and included a few other new students with the minifigure line. It's a shame LEGO hasn't continued giving us less important students, I'd definitely trade the ROR Luna for someone new (I like Luna but do we need 4 of her after only 3 years of the reboot line?). I know some people have suggested giving us battle packs of unnamed students but I think randomly including less important students is the way to go.
  10. I've been reading this for awhile but I've finally made an account to point something out that everyone seems to have missed (unless I myself missed a post). Kingnono's "almost right" might not have been about the commenter's list of many Harry figures but the buildings the commenter listed associated with each. Which to remind everyone were: ???, Flourish and blott's, Leaky Cauldron, WWW, And Gringots.
