LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
DutchRebel replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh yes, nice surprise! I'm not a playset fan at all, but Jabba's palace looks cool! Thought I was gonna buy it just for the figs, but the building itself also looks good. Of course the figs are the USP's: Jabba is done very well, same 4 the guard. Let's hope for more detailed images of Leia as Bousch and Oola soon. Thanx for posting the images and video. DR -
Like it?..... LOVE IT!

Just built this set. Must say this was one of the most fun sets to build in a long time. I really like this scale as it is still kinda suitable for minifigs, but also large enough for some more accuracy and detail. Somewhere in between UCS and system scale. Hope this sets the bar for future SW sets. Figs are also nice! For kids a bit expensive though... No issue for me, please go on like this Lego, great job! Now release the other TIE's, a Snowspeeder, Republic Gunship, AT-AT and ARC-170 in this scale ;-) DR

Looks like the cockpit is light bluish grey instead of dark bluish grey (as seen on the former JSF's). Can anybody confirm? Thanx DR

I find your lack of faith disturbing
-
Oooohh Kieldaman! You are saving me an anormous amount of time by posting this! Thank you so much!!! This is almost exactly what I had in mind doing. Only thing is: I'm kinda hoping/suspecting that Lego is going to release something like this in the near future... I was working on an UCS Imperial Shuttle, what happens? Right... later, working on a new Sebulba's podracer, what happens... than started working on a decent X-wing, what happens... fortunately I can continue with the last one, because I don't really dig the new rendition from lego. Looks great dude! Thanx again. DR

I don't know what to add to all posts, but still I would like to congratulate you on another fantastic model! You are truly one of the best MOC-ers around! DR

[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
DutchRebel replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Must agree with most posts: quality set! Fun build, great figs and the models are accurate! -
Ha, funny do see this topic get bumped... just put a Bricklink 48729 Bar 1L with Clip Mechanical Claw on the neck of GG, connect the upper arms to this. The Bar is hidden by the cape (self made). The extra arm/leg parts are connected by cut tubes. Sorry u purists ;-) You are welcome DR

[REVIEW] 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator
DutchRebel replied to Future74's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Most excellent review Future74! You put a lot of effort in it, much appreciated. About the set: not quite sure if this is gonna be mine, I don't own any older version, but it's just not ''realistic'' for me. Figs are great on the other hand. -
Very nice indeed! Original approach, nice detailing. DR
-
I mostly post on the Star Wars form, but I have to make an exception for this MOC: GRRREAT!
-
I'm currently building this set and I must say I'm impressed. During the build I was surprised how huge it is..! The top wing is just massive. I love the cockpit and the body. I'm a little disappointed with the back of the ship though. Of course the missing of working landinggear is a major letdown. But all the details, the general shape of the ship and the effort that is put in the AFOL buidling technics are just great. All you people that are lucky enough to own this model, have fun building it! DR
-
Cool! Bottem looks great! Don't really like the thickness of the landing structure though and I would use the new dark green cylinder parts of the new official Slave I. But overall really nice. Good luck with completing it

I kinda feel the same way... End the license with a big bang and make room for classic space again. As you all might know I'm a big fan of SW Lego, but with all these re-releases (some needed and usefull because of more curved parts) the theme seems a bit stretched too long. They could make one great final year and then Lego SW will be remembered as classic and profitable or it will fade away. But TLG is just in it for the money and not for glory, so it will probably be extended. Which doesn't bother me either... so whatever happens, I'm a happy man. Unless the end of license means the end of this forum... I don't want to miss you all of course!!! DR
-
I dunno, you are the man! You tell me. I'm just guessing, the expectations and wishes are based on nothing more than my own nerdie dreaming and speculations...
-
I felt the urge of bringing this one back to life a bit. As all 2010 sets are known to us (as far as I know) and to keep ourselves busy until the UCS Imperial Shuttle comes out. And of course because it is so much fun speculating!! My wishes for 2011: - New colour scheme Tie interceptor - New 10xxx no. X-wing and Tie fighter (minifig scale, but in the higher price range with loads of detail) - Cantina (with band members) - Jabba's Palace with new Jabba (printed) and Leia/Boushh - New Jango and Queen Amidala - Arrest of Palpatine including Mace, Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin - UCS AT-AT - UCS Repuclic Star Destroyer My realistic expectations for 2010: - Endor battlepack - Tie collection - X-wing - Cloud city - CW stuff I could do without Any thoughts on 2011 from you guys? Warm regards DutchRebel

I agree that it's not the best year of Lego Star Wars, but I was pleasantly suprised by GG starfighter and Slave I. Didn't own the previous versions, so that might affect my opinion, but I loved the building proces of both. Nice technics and good part choice. The Hoth cave and Hoth battle packs were nice additions to my minifig collection. But the icing on the cake is stil to come IMO in the form of the Imperial shuttle. That makes up for the year more than anything. Thanx Lego! For next year: Queen Amidala, new X-wing/Tie fighter set and UCS AT-AT and Republic SD to end the license with a big bang! DR

Thanx Tilius for this nice review! It's funny, my AT-ST MOC fell apart the other day beacause the elastic band inside the head broke. It was another review of this specific set that brought me to the idea of using it. I was really struggling with making an accurate 'head' for the AT-ST, the eleastic band was a real eye opener for me. Clever use IMO. Thanx again DR

Yeah you are right Mr M, the legs are easy to create. The arms are a bit too far from his sholders joints, but because of the cape it's looking quite allright. Thanks for all your comments, much appreciated!
-
The arms are two of these , they are used for the upperlegs as well. All 4 are connected with pieces of grey hose to GG's original arms and legs. The additional arms are connected to his neck by one of these

Hi guys, couple of you asked for a pic of GG duelling Obi, for reference. At your service! DR
