  1. This is awesome, i might have to dig out some of my spare bricks and start building something similar soon. Though i'm afraid mine might end up slightly unpure as many of my more militant lego men are excessively armed with kit from brickarms, minifig.cat and brickforge. Love the little blurb with it too. :-D
  2. May i introduce the first Arctic Marine Recon Team (the second, third and fourth teams are still lost at the moment, useless sods!) Back Left Splurg, front center Yujum, and back right Welle. 3 Parts of the arctic warfare patrol team. Splurg takes up sniping duties, Yujum on point and Welle providing back up for Yujum. Blunk is meant to be spotting for Splurg but is out of shot for this photo. Kitted out with Night vision for the scout/point man and his support. Standard kevlar helmets for Spurg and Blunk (out of shot) Yujum is modelling this seasons Armoured utility vest from minifig.cat and carrying a SIG551 with scope. Splurg is carrying a .50 cal rifle for that extra affection at long range. :) (brickarms) Welle is travelling light this patrol with a mp5k supressed for subtley (plus less likely to set off avalanches) Purchased a new helicopter set for a reasonable price recently, hoping to convert it for arctic duties and make sure it has suitable capacity for the team.
  3. Well the train arrived today and yes i see sadly sadly you were all correct. The 7898 engine is decidedly lacking in traction to push or pull the Maersk engine. Pulls the rolling stock fine, even pulls a good few extras too, just not the Maersk. Looks like my Maersk will remain unpowered a little longer. Thank you all for your advice and pointers. I shall post if i get any creative mods sorted. Amused by the speed the thing can get upto with normal rolling stock though! :)
  4. Thanks for the replies. I was worried i'd get some kind of reply like this. I suspect there may be some creative adaptation ahead of me with rolling stock and alike. Hmm. The parts for powering the train here came to £65 i think when i added up on the lego site and i was looking at the city train set to do similar with but then the 7898 came up and i figured it looked nicer for a little more money lol.
  5. Hey. I've just got slightly carried away and ended up buying a 7898 on ebay. Does anyone have any idea of what i should have been aiming to spend on this set, from the pics it seems pretty good condition. I only bought it so i could power up my maersk train and it was more practical to pick up a full train set then just buy the newer RC stuff. My only other slightly belated thought is how powerful is the motor in the 7898 set (Deluxe green cargo train i believe?)? At the moment i only have the standard maersk train built but i will be adding more rolling stock to suitably improve the length of the train. Cheers (pics will probably arise once it arrives.) :)
  6. Its a cool model but to me thats not Piercy thats IVOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IVOR THE ENGINE!!!
  7. This is awesome, its great seeing all the different years of sets put together so well!!!!! Perhaps the dockside could do with some more depth? It'd be cool to see a maersk container ship and perhaps a small container terminal?
  8. Thats a cool adddition. I'd love to get hold of some of those hoses but am struggling to find them on bricklink, any idea what they're called?
  9. Thanks for the feedback, i am waiting on a load of grey, dark grey n all the other shades of grey bricks to arrive via bricklink to create a similar effect to those in the link. I'm still not 100% sure of the layout so i'm continuing to experiment around with more rock faces and bricks etc. :)
  10. Next load of Rockfaces Plus replacement of battlements and extension of walkway. Also sewage exit installed but sewage system yet to be installed... Daily supply run arrives with building materials and a heavy escort. Gate designed to accomadate this truck but it is a tight squeeze so i may yet expand the entrance slightly.... More bricks are due this week and next orders will be more in view of tidying up what i currently have rather than expanding too much more (but more extensions there will be!)
  11. Ahh good. My MOC has been in need of some heavier weaponry, those M1919's should do nicely. :P
  12. Ninja death pixies are hard to take pictures of ;) But yeah the door opens, swings open nicely but i might have to reinforce it more as it is wider n higher than originally planned (to accomodate truck from 7622). N they're not bald, skinhead military hair cuts!! :p Helmets are on order atm and are being flown over from the states within the next week or 2. :)
  13. The 'wall' is gaining speed with its construction, no prizes for guessing where some of the inspiration came from for this. But that aside. This is the Main entrance to the tech gamma 12 zone. Pre existing rockfaces and a small canyon provided an ideal barrier from nuclear and emp blasts enabling security behind. The existing rockfaces have been patched up and re enforced with concrete and rock and titanium plates for support where necessary. The gate itself is high tensile steel with titanium strength support rods, operated by a hydraulic system that requires co-ordination from 2 members of the security team from seperate levels. The gate has a gantry overhead to provide a lookout and an ease of inspection of vehicles and people upon entry. Current security demands have seen a 4 man team patroling armed with high power assault rifles and body armour. Support weapons are available to provide a deterrant to any unwelcome guests or dragons. Ninja Death Pixie incursions are rarer but in the occurance of an attack there is a platoon of fast response recon marines available 24/7 armed with pulse weaponry. Pulse weaponry being immensely powerful but limited in its use due to EMP zones beyond the walls. Plans are underway to continue the expansion of the wall to also provide shelter from the nuclear winter season that approaches.
  14. Waiting on aload of grey n bley blocks and some more rock face pieces to add to this rockface gatehouse entrance. Ultimately this will grow wider and higher and have more detail, weaponary and hopefully something behind the gatehouse worth protecting. I have plans already.... This is Blunk heading out on a quick recon ready for the arrival of the next Ore shipment. Hes packing some heat with his .45 auto pistol, and his .50 sniper rifle. Sure to put a dent in any roving vehicles, dragons or raiders he happens to spot.... Ok by dent i meal a large relatively round hole. His departure is watched over by Commander Snow. Never one to take a risk hes stood well back of the entrance and with his SCAR rifle locked loaded n ready to go.
